was given to me. Damn, I must be the luckiest man on the planet."
"If you think that that's lucky, than your luck has barely started." Said Vendell.
"I don't get why you guys have to handcuff me to the door, in the back seat no less. It's not like I'm going to jump out of a moving car. Hey Morgan," his attention quickly turned on her,"what's up with you? You've barley spoken a word since we got to the church."
"You know, for once, I agree with my little brother. Are you o.k.? You've been a little on the quiet side this entire time. If you have something to say, say it. I mean, a few hours ago, I got told by my cat. It don't get no worse than that." Morgan laughed, but Vendell simply smiled, or as close as you can get considering that she's a cat.
"She's a little shy. I don't know how you keep getting her to smile and laugh when I can barely get her a to grin a split second without using a spell."Said Vendell, then said quieter,"I think she likes someone."
"Why would any one like him," he gestured with his toward his brother while Trait was trying to pick the lock,"no one like him. I mean, granted, there are a couple of people who play nice with him to try and get an easy scholarship. With guys, he's very tough skinned. But send in a semi-good looking girl, it's a done deal."
"Who said I was talking about him?" Vendell said. Ty looked at her, then at Morgan, but she looked away. He thought about it for a second and then smiled to himself.

"O.k., we've been driving for an eternity. We're low on gas, the three of us are dying of boredom, and I haven't gotten any sleep what-so-ever since I won my belt. I didn't even get a chance to hand my belt up!"
"If you were a little more wise, boy, you would learn to hold your tongue." Vendell said.
"Well, can you at least tell me where we are, exactly, we are going. I've been driving blind for about ten hours now. We've already crossed the border."
"I told you before, we will get there when we get there. And no, I will not tell you where we're going because we are already there." Vendell gestured with her head towards the road. Ty followed her eyes and saw the they were heading towards a very, very large mansion. "Are you happy now?" Vendell asked scornfully.
"Well you could have told me we were going to a huge, awesome looking mansion." Tyler said.
"Would you have believed me?" She asked.
"Well, considering that your still talking to me, I'm pretty sure I'd believe you. You've lived with me for six-teen years with countless time to leave and you stayed. You have no reason to lie to me." Then, he started to laugh. "You know, if Trait and Morgan were awake right now, Trait would be going nuts and Morgan would just sit there a laugh at him." Vendell just kept her eyes fixed on the mansion. Ty parked the car. It was about three o-clock in the morning. He opened the door and let Vendell out. "Hey, Traiten. Wake up." He shook his brother awake. "Get up, were here." Trait looked up at the giant palace thirty feet in front of him. He looked back at Ty, but his brother was already on the other side lifting Morgan out of the car and carrying her to the mansion.
"Hey, dude, wait." He ran to catch up, but skidded to a stop, ran back to the car to grab his suit case and shut the door. Then, he ran back up toward his brother. He started to walk beside his brother, pace by pace. "Hey, um, why don't you ever try and carry me? Trait asked.
"I ain't carrying your fat ass. You've got legs, use them."
"Well, so does she. And I don't see you throwing her on the ground and telling her to walk the rest of the way." Trait said back.
"Shhhh. Your going to wake her up. Besides, you need the exercise. You ain't exactly no Arnold Schwarzenegger."
"You know he's right." Said a voice.
"Ahhh! Jesus Vendell, you have got to stop doing that. And how can you agree with him. Have you seen me, I am fit enough to lift a truck!" He puffed out his chest and tried to show the muscle on his arms. Key word being 'try'.
"Ring the doorbell." Said Vendell from below. Ty looked at Traiten.
"Alright, fine." He did as he was told and rang the doorbell. They herd it ring and then herd an old voice from the inside.
"Coming, hold on." The voice sound like it was from an old man. A very old man. Surely enough, the door opened. The man who opened looked at least sixty to seventy years old.
"Can I help you?" The old man said. It was Vendell who answered.
"Hello Ratin."

Chapter 6

"Did...did that cat just talk?" Ratin asked frantically.
"Calm down Ratin," Vendell said,"it's me, Linda. Can't you remember?"
"No. No, you're not Linda. Linda died on a car crash." He said.
"Trait, take Morgan." He gave Morgan to Trait. Trait struggled a lot more with holding her than Ty did. Ty walked up to the man, grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him up off the ground and set him down on his feet easily. "Listen, we just want to talk, alright. Now I don't want to hurt you,so just stop and listen.
"Thank you Tyler." Vendell gave him a curt nod. "Ratin, I am Linda. I was turned into a cat. I know it's hard to except."
"No!" Ratin said and started to run.
"Dido!" Vendell said. Ratin immediately stopped running.
"What did you just say?"
"Dido, Ratin. Dido." She said again.
"Linda?" He asked cautiously.
"Yes, yes, it's me." Vendell said hopefully.
"What...what happened to you. Last thing I saw was a speeding car, then everything went black. I woke up in a hospital bed. When I asked them where you were, they said that you were no where to be found. I thought you ran away because you didn't want to be found."
"Please, I will explain everything as soon as we've settled in."
"Yes, you will Linda." He said the name 'Linda' with over emphasis. She looked at him with pure hatred. He Laughed and walked away. But, then, stopped and asked,"Hod did you know him?"
She looked at him and said,
"He was my husband."

The next day when every one got their sleep, they all gathered around the living room. Most of them sat on the couch. Vendell sat on the arm of the couch. Morgan sat next to Tyler. Trait was the only one who decided to stand(he took Ty's fitness comment a little personal). After everyone was settle, Vendell spoke.
"Everyone, this is Ratin. He was- is my husband. Ratin," she turned to her spouse," these are my apprentices."
"Apprentices my ass-" Ty's words were cut short by Traiten's hand over his brother's mouth.
"Anyway, as you can see, I am indeed a cat. See, before I met you, I was granted two lives by a man named Scorn. He said to me,'When you die, you will be born again with a new life. same age but your hundred year life span will still remain, and when you enter your new life, you must promise to return to me.' Though those words are twenty-five years old, I remember them like they were yesterday."
"So... this is someplace you got here. Speaking of which, why did we come here?" Trait asked.
"Because," Vendell answered," my husband has been targeted to get to you." She said, gesturing towards Ty.
"Um, excuse me." Trait said. "Has everyone completely forgotten about me. I'm important too aren't I? It's not fair that Ty has to get all the attention."
"Half of our world wants to kill him." Vendell said to Trait.
"On second thought, I think I've been popular enough through out school and college. So, Tyler, you go on and haver fun. So," Trait said turning towards Vendell," if I'm going to be completely useless through out this 'epic quest', then can I go home?" Trait asked.
"Though your will become a nuisance, they will probably be looking for your brothers at you house and probably are right now. They know that Tyler has a brother, but don not know that he has a twin. If you go back and they find you before your brother, they will not give a second thought about a twin. Though if you do go and get captured, it will provide us a much clearer path toward Necron. So, if truly wish to leave, leave. If you wish to stay, stay. We will benefit from either of your choices." Vendell explained.
"Ouch. Well, yeah, now that we've established that I'm nothing but luggage, I will go to the backyard and will think on how I'm going to survive being with you."
"Oh," Ratin said,"That might not be a good idea. I have guard dogs out in the back that I keep up and out at night. They're the most vicious of dogs."
"O.k. then, I will go find a bow outside and think in that."
"This is a very clean neighborhood. I don't think you will find one." Ratin replied.
"Well, then I'll just go to the roof, if that is o.k. with you. Or is there motion censored lightning on the roof that might fry me like a roach." Trait said, getting frustrated. Ratin just shrugged.
"You notice how Trait is the only one who can successfully take all attention and seriousness of a serious conversation?" Morgan said.
"As we were saying, Ratin is now a target. But you have a safe house don't you, Ratin?" Vendell asked.
"Well, yes, but I can only enter it with a serious circumstance. And I don't think that cat claiming to be my wife, cam to my house in the middle of the night and said was the target of an incredibly dangerous cult searching for an Undisputed Champion with a metal-."
"Black Steal." Tyler interrupted Ratin.
"Black Steal, sword and his special brother."
"You can invent an excuse can't you?" Vendell asked.
"Well, I guess I can. Your right."
"Well than, now that we have that sorted out. Ratin, you must go to your safe immediately. Is that understood?" Vendell asked. Ratin nodded. "Good. We must be going. Ty," Vendell called. Tyler looked up at her," you have received your first weapon. We must be going to get your Slit Gauntlets." Vendell jumped off the table and strolled out of the door.
"Wait, first weapon? Slit Gauntlets? Door? What the hell are you talking about? Are saying that I'm going to get a new weapon? Holy shi-."
"Ty," Vendell cut him off," if you want to get your new wielding then come on." She ordered. "And Trait, get down from there." She looked up at Traiten disapprovingly.
"Are you really climbing to the roof. Dude, you take things to seriously."
"You think I'm up here for the view? There friggin' enormous dogs down there. Hurry run!" Traiten warned. The three of them looked down from Traiten and to the dogs. There were four of them. Huge. Big as a horse. They started running after them. Vendell hissed and then bolted for the car door, Morgan right behind her. After a second Ty realized there were four angry dogs running for him! Yeah, as you can see, he was a little slow sensed. But that will be changing shortly. He ran for the car.
"Hurry up and open the door!" Vendell said urgently.
