come out on top." She looked about for a container and glimpsed a sack in the far corner of the room. Scrambling over she gave a shout of elation. A sudden sound of a door banging closed brought Robin out of her reverie. Robin searched wildly for a hiding spot in the small storage room. She gave a groan as she realized she would have to hide in the oh so convenient sack. She mumbled curses under her breath as she crawled 'gracefully' into the scratchy burlap. Just as she concealed herself inside the bag the storage door was slammed open. " I'm tellin' ya. The captain said the booty was somewhere in the galley." Another voice gruffer than the first joined the conversation. " How do you know that he meant the galley." " Because" snapped the first voice. " He said and I quote, ' Be sure to conceal the goods in the pantry.' " " You Idiot" The sound of someone being smacked upside the head rang throughout the galley. " He meant the food. You fool. I can't believe we listened to you. How are we supposed to over throw the captain if we don't have any money to bribe the men?" A new, more sinister voice spoke, "We could always kill him" The group gasped. " But that's murder. If we are caught, we will hang or be tossed in the brig at least." A deep chuckled sounded. "What of it? Mutiny is already punishable by death. There is no difference in the consequences. But the outcome if we succeed, that my friends is the better outcome. The faster we can accomplish our goal the faster we can leave and escape undetected." With mutters of agreement the men left. Leaving behind a trembling Robin wondering what the hell she had just gotten herself into. She should tell the captain. But would he believe her? She had to try. But wait! What would she tell him. Oh I'm sorry captain. While I was conspiring to steal your treasure I over heard some men planning to take over your ship by any means necessary. Even murder. She laughed mirthlessly to herself. Gosh she was such an idiot. Why would he believe her over his own men. Besides she had no proof as to whom the men were. She had no names or any clues other than the sound of their voices and those can be masked easily.
But she couldn't sit back and watch him die. That would be stuck on her conscience forever. Robin growled. Stupid captain for having treacherous men on board.Stupid her for having such a soft heart. But who better than the cabin boy was there to watch over the captain? Outside of Blade and his personal physician,Gino, she had the best position of watching over him as he slept and ate. She gave a grimace at the thought of someone poisoning him. Agghh! She was going to check his food too dammit. But he was her only ticket out of this dump and she wasn't about to let it slip away. She gave a huff and began to look at the treasure in front of her. Now was the best chance at stealing the money. But what if someone came in and saw her? She bit her bottom lip as she contemplated her options. She could always wait until later. Wait until almost everyone was asleep then take steal the treasure. Or she could wait until they landed in Crete and escape then. Yes she decided. That would be the best time. She could warn the captain then leave before he could detain her. Life was good. "You dirty little rat. Didn't I warn you! I left you for an hour and this is all youv'e been doin' lollygagging in my kitchen. No food for you! Hurry up and clean. Worthless brat." Robin gave a pathetic laugh. Hehehe "Sorry sir. I was dreamin' 'bout me mum. I miss the old lady." The chef gave a grunt of dissatisfaction. "I don't care about your mum get to work. I'll be back and if this room ain't done by the time I get back......" He left the threat hanging in the air and left with a satisfied smirk on his face. Robin gulped. Well, life was almost good.
