CHAPTER THREE

               “DESTIN”

               “APPEL”

We discovered ourselves in the hotel's huge living room.

Where most people, couples and other people were having a good conversation.

With their friends or loved ones.

Patience and I discovered ourselves having a long conversation.

“So what's did you come here for?

And may I please know your name?” Patience asked.

“I am, Guillaume and came here for Christmas vacation.

With the people to live with as neighbors in Zambia.

  What's yours?” I asked back.

“Um, it's okay if you don't want to tell me.” I stammered.

    “Hmm, Patience,” she replied.

“Patience, I see. Besides, what other names you have?” I asked.

“So where are you heading? I mean after this?” I asked her continually.

“Utah, my mother is a gospel musician, so she bought this music studio in, Utah.” Patience said.

“Ah, I see. Well, nice meeting you,” I replied.

Patience was about to say something to me when she was interrupted by her friends.

“Patience, Patience!” Clara called. “What is it, girls?” She asked back.

“Y-your mother. She is looking for you.

Worrying sick that you are missing or something happened to you,” Holly said.

“Aya-yaya...eee, Holly, stop be a drama Queen! Besides, I am still here I am not going anywhere.

Continually, can't I just spent a little time to talk to this guy?

Without my mother worrying about me?” Patience asked.

“Oooh, my goodness. It seems like someone is becoming interesting in this new guy.

And please my good sir, can you please tell us your name?” Clementine asked.

“Well, his name is, Guillaume, there you have it, girls.

So what is my mama worrying about?” Asked Patience.

“Hmmph, why won't you come and find out?” Clara answered.

“Nope, I am not going anywhere unless you tell me,” Patience insisted.

At the place I was standing before them arguing, I was dying of laughter.

“Oh, oh, well because your mother wants you to pack all of your things.

Because we are leaving for Utah, early in the morning.

We are leaving around one O'clock in the morning,” Holly said.

And as you can see, you still have something to pack in your room?” Clementine whispered.

“Oh, yeah, you're right, I-I almost forgot and Guillaume sees you around maybe.” Patience asked.

“Yeah, maybe!” I said. “Yeah, you heard the man now come on.

Let's go!” Clara scolded as three of them pushes her away.

Patience insisted for a moment because she wants to look at me one more time.

Then she shouted on top of her lungs.

“Farewell, Guillaume, hope to see you soon!” Patience waved at me.

I waved back as her friends continued pushing her and were out of sight.

I was left alone once again with only the noise of the people's conversations into the hallways.

Some of them were eating snacks in the living room of their hotels’ cabinets.

When all the sudden, I was discontinued by Nana who called my name.

In fact, I was really exhausted because the sleepiness overtook me like a huge heavy burden.

“Guillaume, bro, I think it's time we go in our cabinet.

Because tomorrow morning we are going back to our house.

Has you can see, tomorrow it is Christmas and look it is snowing outside,” Nana interrupted.

“Umm, I see and yeah, it is snowing,” I replied.

Nana and I were about to walk away to our sleeping place when Chris Tomlin hold our horses.

    “Gui, wait up!” He called.

‘What now? What did he want?’ I thought out loud.

Has Nana and I waited for him who reach us in time breathless.

‘Whoa-whoa, there-there old man before you fall down to your death. Before speaking of what you want with me,’ I thought once again.

“Gui, do you  live around here in Utah?” He asked. “Yeah, I’m just here for my vacation with my family. So what’s up?” I asked.

“We want to go with you to the studio so we might help you make an album for your songs.

We want you to use the talent that God gave you to preach His good news. Henceforth come with us.” Chris Tomlin pleaded.

“Nope, sorry Chris, I am not interesting. If God really wants me to use the talents that He gave me, why would He allowed me to pass through these heartbreakings after heartbreaking?

Tell me, Chris, if God is really up there sitting on His throne then why would He prevent me to go through hard compelling time?” I asked in tears.

“I don’t know, Gui! I don’t know why you are going through that.

But to tell you the truth my son, God’s time is the best,” Chris answered.

“So are you coming?’ He continued. “Huh-uh, sorry, Chris Tomlin, I rest my case I don’t want to sing any longer.

So if you excuse me, I have to go. Has you can see it is at one O’clock. And tomorrow we are leaving for Utah.” I answered and walked away to our cabinet.

CHACPTER FOUR

                     “APPEL”

                      “DIS OUI”

I first went to took a shower before bed while Nana remained to give Chris Tomlin the address of their own.

‘You sneaky squirrel!’ I would think if I saw him giving him the address.

I came back to my bed in my sleeping clothes and went straight to sleep.

So early in the morning about the same hour, Patience, her mother and friends drove to their humongous mansion.

‘I wonder if we never meet again?’ I would think. “Hey-hey, quiet up there!” I would scold at myself.

Well, which is the funniest thing to me. I slept until eleven a.m. in the morning because I really exhausted.

And Joel, Enoch, and Raphael le me and Nana have a resting sleep.

Nana woke up before me while I remained asleep. After I woke up to go get myself ready, I meant brushing my teeth and washing my face.

Came out of the bathroom and went straight for my breakfast.

Because I usually eat my breakfast at around eleven O’clock.

All my things were packed in my suitcase, so it wasn’t a bother for me to worry about it.

Therefore, I was enjoying my breakfast until I finished it where Nana and Enoch walking and was calling me.

“Guillaume, its time to go!” Enoch called. “Guillaume, bro, come on hurried!

And don’t worry about your things because it is in the car already.” Said Nana.

“Okay-Okay, I am coming sheesh, please just hold your horses,” I mumbled to myself.

I stood up of the chair, walked up to them and the three of us walked out the exit.

We found ourselves climbing in the car, Joel was the person who is going to drive while turning on the car’s engine.

He drove out the parking lot and we already hitting the road.

‘House, here I come and I can’t wait to see my parents and siblings.

I miss them so much,’  I thought out loud. When I was discontinued by Nana, who ask me if I have fun.

“Do you have fun at the school camp? Moreover, it is Christmas today!

And the new girl that you met yesterday whom you sang-along with was looking at you with much love,” Nana teased.

“Ugh, silence you! You weren’t even there and please I did not have fun at all, Nana.

But Christmas it’s the holiday I celebrate, and please can we changed the topic?!” I snapped anxiously.

“Whoa, it seems like we have a deadly viper, brothers. With the teeth of a vengeful cobra!

What’s wrong with you, bro? If something happened to you that you can’t let go so what?

You can’t lock every opportunity which will make you successful.

I know you have been heartbroken multiple times, so what?” Nana scolded back at me.

“I don’t know, Nana,” I answered. “You don’t know bro?” He asked back.

“Yes, and  why do you want to know?” I asked.  “Because all I know is that Chris Tomlin asks you a simple question.

That if you would go with him, so he can have you sing for your album but you refused.” He said.

“Nana, enough it is enough! If you don’t have anything to say but this then be quiet please.” I replied.

“Al-alright, man, at least you know that I have tried all my efforts,” Nana murmured out loud.

For a moment I have a peace of mind while the car was still in motions.

‘Ah, finally peace and quiet. My goodness, why all the sudden of me singing. God, why me?’ I thought out loud.

For two hours we were on the road and Nana’s and his brothers’ house from the school camp wasn’t quite far.

When I finally saw their house which we were getting towards it closer and closer.

Has we were getting even closer, there were some unknown car parking.

Nana knew who was, Shekinah Enoch’s, Joel’s, Raphael’s, and Nana’s sister was waiting for us.

She ran up to me as I get down from the car so she might hug me tightly.

She was grown and quite a gorgeous teenager for now. “Welcome back, Guillaume and brothers!” Shekinah replied while excitedly hugged me tightly.

“Ugh, Shekinah, I can’t breathe!” I gasped. “Ah, he-he-he, sorry Guillaume.” She giggled while letting me go.

“Umm, thank you and who is the owner of this car?” I asked. “Well, Chris Tomlin is here.

Begging mama and papa to allow you to go with him.” Interrupted Constance, my sister.

“Chris Tomlin? What is he doing here and how did he know the house’s address?” I asked.

“Well, he said that the young man by the name of Nana gave him the house’s address,” she said.

“Nana, grr!” I snarled angrily and I marched towards the house’s entrance.

Opening the door and walked inside where I met Chris Tomlin himself talking with my parents.

“Chris, what are you doing here and I bet I’d already told you that I am not interested to be a gospel singer.

So why are you bothering me?” I snapped at him angrily.

“Well, too late, Gui, because your parents already say yes.

And they show me your songs on YouTube, which you sang and wrote it years ago.” Chris said.

“Mama-papa, how could you do this to me?” I asked in tears.

    “We are so-sorry Guillaume. And I don’t
