someone to teach me the ropes) The hardest part I figured would be finding him. He is one of the few super heroes that are actually good at hiding his identity.
Well there are three things I know about the amazing Spider-Man. One he is or knows a science geek, two he is spotted around Mid-Town High School a lot, and finally three he would totally get pissed at me if “Spider-Man” were spotted doing something when it isn’t really him. Okay, Mid-Town High School, get ready to welcome Cathleen… I mean Caitlyn Osberry to your great school.
“Briiiiing!” Well, I have a “history” and all I need to make it through the school day. Then a boy in the hallway shouts over the crowd, “Hey pretty thing why don’t you come over here and introduce your self to me.” Then he grabs my arm and won’t let go. “Let go, ”I commanded and this guy just laughs. People start crowding around and just when I was going to dislocate his arm two other guys step forward. One is taking the bully’s hand off me the other one is trying to talk his friend out of helping. The friend says, “ Peter stop he’s going to hurt you if you keep interfering.” Well so far I like this Peter kid. Well for the sake of not getting the bully and peter’s friend mixed up I’m going to call the bully F. (which is probably his school grade)
Well, once Peter got the bully’s hand off me F was about to punch Peter. The funny thing was that peter wasn’t even trying to avoid it so I took charge and tripped F. When he hit the floor I placed my foot on his chest I put weight on it so he wouldn’t get up. “ Hey, I don’t care who you are. For all I care you could be a football player and the most popular kid in school. I do not tolerate bullying. Next time if you do this I won’t wait for someone to come here I will dislocate your arm.” Everyone in the hallway got quiet and started dispersing. I took my foot off this kid and pulled him up onto his feet.
He ran, I grabbed Peter’s arm and then let go just as fast. He turned and my face started turning pink as I noticed how hot he was. Most people probably wouldn’t notice it because he doesn’t really show it. “Thanks for helping me before. So, it’s Peter right?” I asked. He ran his hand through his hair before answering, “Yeah, it’s Peter Parker. I don’t really think it matters that I helped you though.” “ You never know who your gaining as a friend Peter. Sometimes just the fact that you helped just a little improves the situation. Like for example moving here to New York was just made a little better. Thanks again super hero!” I told him before I kissed him on the cheek and ran to the main office.
The secretary told me to wait there while they checked all of my paper work. It is a really good thing that I work fast or there would be no paper work that said that I was Caitlyn Osberry from New Jersey. When the principal called me in I knew exactly what it would be about. Caitlyn was a girl who had many problems. She had ADHD, was an easy blonde when it came to directions, and just had her brother die, (I do need something to be realistic) but her brother killed himself to stop being bullied.
So when he told me the five privileges I’d be getting, that of course I already knew, I started playing ADHD by looking around the room and moving my hands constantly. This office unlike the other office had lots of security. When he was done he asked if I had any questions. Play the part I had to tell myself before answering. So I replied, “ Can you write it all down for me where i won't lose it. I’m afraid I won’t remember all of that and do you have an anti- bullying club here?”
Now an easy reply to this that most people would say is no but then when they here all these problems their eyes do double takes for their mind and they do the opposite. So his answer, “ yeah sure and I don’t know about the club, but stop by during Friday detention and I’ll have the answer for you. Don’t be afraid to drop by the counselor for help,” was kind of obvious since of course he wouldn’t want to deal with the problems but he had to do something.
Now if you saw Caitlyn you would think right a way that she was a popular girl. Once you spent some time with her you would know that she isn’t. My first was class was algebra one. Where the equations would look impossible for any popular kid to get one right. As for me though I took the test and was one of four who got the test completely right. I’ll tell you now playing ADHD is not fun you have to space out, lose track of time even on due dates, and on tests you get extra time and you have to you know need it. Man, and these kids who have it are actually getting good grades.
Getting to lunch early is a snap when you are excused ten minutes early to find it and it’s right around the corner. Getting there late is another thing. You think it’s hard being you, try being someone else for a change. It’s hard, uncomfortable, and really weird. Lunch is a complete bore when you get in the cafeteria so late that you only have time to take two bites out of your meal.
I found the perfect thing to do during my time for trying to get the lunch room as late as possible without getting caught. Research on the way to frame Spider-Man for hacking the principal’s computer and I already knew would be behind that mask, my dear dead brother. Nothing interesting happened at school except for the teen drama that happened out in the hall.
Thursday night was when it went down since detention was Friday. I snuck in during football practice all dressed up as the friendly neighbor hood Spider-Man. (which isn’t easy with a body like mine.) Once I reached the principal’s office I took off the mask revealing my brothers face to the camera. By the way, yes, it did take a long time to make a mask of my brother’s face.
Hacking onto the computer and, guess what, finding government related program. (Does every school have it?) Finally I put the program on a disk along with everything else and put in a virus specially made for the occasion.
Rumors spread in a high school faster than the speed of light. I heard so many on Friday that I was surprised that no one got in trouble. As I was getting ready to leave class ten minutes early for lunch I got called down to the principal’s office along with five other people.
I was pretty sure what we were getting called down for because on the virus it had voice recordings of seven people. There was only one problem one of the kids that he called wasn’t on the recording. As I entered his office fifteen minutes late I already knew the lines to my skit. “Sorry, I’m late. Was there a problem with the detention date so your calling me down now about the club?” I asked with my innocent blonde look plastered on my face. Everybody just looked even more confused which was exactly the point. “ The anti-bullying club that I asked you about on my first day here,” I continued. I looked around as if seeing the members and trying to memorize their faces until I put in a line to my skit.
“Oh, I’m glad you’re in the club super hero,” I told Peter. Once I said that every one looked at peter whose face was bright pink. Then the principal announced, “ you five are about watch and listen to something important and then I want you to tell me what you think. When we watched the video I interrupted like I was using cues. When Spider-Man walked I asked, “Who is that? Is that your school mascot?” Which the other kids in reply looked at me like I was from another planet.
When Spider-Man took off his mask I cried. Which made the principal stop the movie and got me all the attention. “Is this some kind of sick joke?” I asked. The principal replied “excuse me but why…” Then came the line that would lead to a commercial break in any TV Show, “ Is my… dead… brother being accused of doing something to the computer.” Every one in the room looked at the wall as if this was the most uncomfortable thing that ever happened in their life.
The poor principal looked so down, as if he felt this was somehow his fault. When I ran out of the room no one tried to stop me. I ran all through the hallway trying to find a girls bathroom until I ran into someone. I apologized and started wiping the tears from my eyes. I looked up to find to my surprise Peter. “Are you okay?” was the only thing he asked
“ I don’t know. This was supposed to be a new start away from my past in New Jersey. I would help stop bullying and hopefully forget some of my troubles, but disasters keep on appearing every where I go,” I told him. He was helping me up onto my feet when the kids from earlier stopped in front of us. “ Thanks for listening to me super hero. I um… guess that I should find the cafeteria now.”
“Wait… we’ll walk with you we have lunch now any way,” peter told me. I was about to ask who the other kids were when one of them asked me first. “ I’m Caitlyn Osberry and you guys are?” I replied. Well their names were Ava, Luke, Sam, and Danny I didn’t catch their last names because I was too busy studying them. They looked like teenagers from different places in the school’s social class. I could realize now though that somehow they are connected.
When I walked into the cafeteria I stopped looking at the clock amazed. Then Luke asked why I stopped and the reply was that I never got to to lunch so early before. They all started laughing. We were an hour and a half hour late to lunch. they asked me to join them and I agreed. Their were two other people at the table Peter's friends Harry and MJ. Again I missed their last names. Harry was an easy call, spoiled rich boy who had daddy issues. MJ was harder to figure out. So far I figured out she wanted to be a reporter and her and peter were only friends because they tried being more but it failed.
Sam started talking to harry holding back from laughing. "So you related to Caitlyn here. Is that why her names so close you guys cousins?" "Caitlyn isn't in any way close to harry," I stated obviously. they all started laughing except Peter who seemed to be expecting to be punched.
That's when it happened thorns came out of my skin and went straight back in. And I somehow knew that some one was about to punch me. A fist was right by my face when a hand caught it. "thanks," I whispered. Then someone else
