other fast. Now he doesn’t feel so alone. He has something to smile about.” Nohrinn made me feel ten times better. “Now we have to go back.” He says.
“Are we still connected?” I ask.
“Yes. Only we can pry us apart. I think they moved us though, probably to the moonlight hall.”
I smile very happy about my family. I felt the need to go back and end what I started.
“I can’t believe I took advantage of my home and my family. I never realized how much they did for me.” I said looking straight into Nohrinn’s eyes.
“Have you ever thought that heaven may be the world you live in?”
Twenty-Two

“Look they are both smiling.” Kallina says. We all turn to Nohrinn and Ray.
“That’s unexpected.” Sager says. “Are you okay Braedinn?”
“Yeah. I’m happy I helped and happy I got to know Ray, but my father isn’t even looking at me.”
“Hey! Got ya!” Fayylon says. The twins were playing catch with a ball of light. The council sat in a row on a huge platform above us. Every time I looked up at them they were looking down and writing. We were all standing under the council in the moonlight hall. Our hands behind our backs tied together with a rope of light. It is impossible to break. Ray and Nohrinn were chained up too but they were leaning against a wall still connecting.
The council was beautiful. The twins were bright yellow with their scar going across their face diagonally. Ytaani was glowing red, I couldn’t see her scar. Then there was Vaanar, as much as I hate him for what how he treated Braedinn he was still glowing beautifully with a grey tint.
“I can’t believe they caught us. Ray will never be able to go back.” I say.
“We went months without getting caught and we trained a boy who wasn’t even dead to take the amount of pain this world gives him, we survived on little food and we were fine. I seriously doubt we can’t get ourselves out of this situation.” Sager says looking at me.
“They are going to send us to Ethyrius, you all know that right?” Braedinn explains.
“Maybe not you.” I say.
“My dad is more disappointed in me than any of you; trust me, the faster he gets rid of me the happier he is. That’s what he was like when we were alive.” We all sit in silence.
“Sorry.” I say. Nohrinn and Ray’s light go out. We all observe. They wake up slowly. Opening their eyes to a sight they do not want to see.
“Are you okay Charlie?” Ray asks me.
“Hey!” Vaanar yells. “No talking!”
“Ah, I see Nohrinn is up.” Ytaani says.
“Nohrinn!” The twins say together. “You are officially a badass.” Wayylon says. He sister hits him.
“Don’t say that! He broke over 100 rules... but yeah it was pretty cool. What was it like connecting with a human?” Fayylon asks.
“No questions.” Vaanar says. “I don’t want to hear any of your stories. You all are going straight to Ethyrius.”
“Vaanar let them speak. We trust Nohrinn and I know he has a good explanation.” Ytaani says in a clam womanly voice. Vaanar then sinks in his chair. “But I want to hear all of you. You are all such great people and I know there is a logical explanation for this. Sager, you first.”
“When you asks me to go back to the real world I didn’t want to, I was happier here. Kallina asked me to help with Ray because he was hurt. I know everything about medical, dead humans and living humans. So I joined their family.” Sager explains looking Vaanar straight in the eye. All I know is that Sager could not stand Vaanar, simply because he is just an asshole.
“Braedinn?” Ytaani goes down the row.
“They got me out of the Symbol of Life. I owed them something and they grew on me.” Braedinn looks at his dad and then down to his feet in disappointment.
“Charlie?” I didn’t speak.
“Kallina?”
“She is my human, she was hurting inside and I could feel how much she wanted Ray to experience this. I had to help her.” She says. I smile.
“Nohrinn?” He didn’t speak either.
“Ray, I’m not putting anything on you. You didn’t know, but you have to understand that you were a part of it.” Ytaani says. Ray nods his head.
“Nohrinn. You broke a lot of rules, not only against the world but against the council. As much as I don’t want to we must take your position away.” Ytaani says with her soft voice. “Charlie. I don’t even know how you got back through the Mass and the Void, you must be one smart girl, but because of this we must consider a consequence. Sager, Braedinn, I know you were only there to help but again, we can’t just let you be after something like this happened. Kallina, you were doing what you were made to do. You were fulfilling your human’s needs and wants, but this was against the rules. Does everyone understand? We will all talk about this as a council and we will let you know what will happen.”
“No.” Vaanar’s large voice filled up the room. “I have made my decision. They are going to Ethyrius!”
“Vaanar please.” Ytaani says.
“Uh oh.” The twins say together.
“Don’t even try Ytaani. I will not let them get away with this!” He says
“But Vaan-“He hit her. Straight across the face.
“GUARDS!” He stands up and looks at us. His guards bust in from all different sides of the room. “Take them Ethyrius! You all will suffer from what you did! You will learn to regret your actions and feel the damage you have done to this world!” More than 10 guards circle us; all taking are arms and forcing us to the door that exists. I see Braedinn look at his father, watching him outraged and slamming the door shut once we pass through.
The guards’ were big men, not wardens. They had chains all around them and a faceplate to protect them. They held us tight.

We walked for hours only stopping once to use the bathroom. We walked through the desert and the snow, the forest and the beach. I had marks on my arms from where they held me. None of us talked or even looked at each other. I knew Ray was about to pass out of exhaustion, even without looking at him.
The guards’ stopped. I look up and in front of us was a huge iron wall. A few moments pass by and nothing happened. I open my mouth to say something but then I hear a loud creaking noise. The wall was splitting into two. The noise hurt my ears and went on for minutes. Through the small crack of the wall the image of Ethyrius starts to form. The crack gets bigger and bigger.
There was fire coming up from the ground in certain areas. I saw humans and wardens starving and walking without energy. At the right of the entry we see a warden and his human fight. The guards push us through the gate. They untie our ropes of light freeing our hands. They turn around and the moment they are outside the walls shut together quickly. We all look and prepare ourselves for what we are about to experience.
Nohrinn then transforms into his owl form and flies up into the sky and straight. He was a huge owl, with a very pretty beak and his color being blue. I shake my head smiling.
We all look at one another and give ourselves that smile. The smile that means Ethyrius has no idea what it’s in for.
