a man. He is a monster, more like a beast. We are better off with him chained like that.” Jack replied with confidence. “You must be a stranger to Odar, when you said you lost everything I thought that you lost your house in the process. Are you really from outside Odar?” Jack said realizing with disbelieve shown on his face, “Yes, this is the first time I come to this ... city … Odar you said, right?” Raiden replied wondering why it would be strange for him (an outsider) to be in Odar. “Yes, we never get visits, at least we never did, until you I guess; whoever gets out rarely get back in, and you seem to be one of the rare visitors. I won’t cause any trouble for you but be warned of the city guards finding out; you will be investigated and possibly tortured.” Jack warned with a serious tune in his voice. “Is that so, thank you for everything, you have been nothing but kind to me and I don’t want to cause you any trouble, I think I’ll be able to manage myself from here on.” Raiden said with gratefulness filled in his eyes.

“But before I go, I would really like to know, if you don’t mind, why you called him a monster even though he clearly looks like a human not a demon, even the best shape-shifting demons would have that identifying mark wither it’s their teeth, ears or some even might have tails or horns, they might be able to hide it but that guy doesn’t seem to have any of demon features, even his tattoos which looks a bit weird is normal since tattoos are one way of activating spells which is known and common. Is it something he has done if I may ask?” Raiden said with curiosity and wonder filling his mind and shown in his featured, “If you have to go, then thank you for staying and keeping me company, as for the help you really don’t need to thank me since what I did was nothing to be mentioned, but if you think that this guy is a human you are so wrong, first of all he has been there longer than I can ever remember and he can cut, break, and carry those heavy stones and build using them. I don’t want to seem harsh or selfish but I think things are better the way they are. They say that if he was given a chance he would kill all of us in no time. Yet it is very helpful to have him around to build Odar, after all who would be able to move such heavy objects, let alone carving it.” Jack explained. Raiden left with disappointment filling Raiden’s eyes, knowing that Jack failed to see his point of view.

After leaving with enough rest and a full stomach, Raiden regained his manna, which was the main source of all wizards’ power, having low manna meant having no magic. Since Raiden was capable of regaining some of his lost manna back he was able to use healing magic, and with a warm yellowish light, he closed up his wounds and healed his bruises.

After healing himself Raiden decided to investigate the enslaved man Jack called a monster, he went around the city looking for clues so he would know how to help him, when he suddenly heard and saw an arrow shoot from one of the guards hitting that man’s ribcage. The man was already bleeding and that arrow made it worse, he then with a look of despise on the guard who sent that arrow to him made a move to remove that painful arrow piercing his flesh.

At that exact second, before reaching the arrow, one of the higher officers shouted “STOP RIGHT THERE BEAST! If you take that out, it won’t be the only one you would be worried about. Hundreds will follow, look around you, they are all ready to shoot you once you move”, then that man left the arrow as it is and stopped from moving. “Solder! Why did you hit him with that arrow?” the high officer said with a sharp tone demanding answers. “Sorry Sir, my finger slipped” the guard who shot the arrow replied with unreasonable excuse. “Didn’t you hear that beast? He said that he slipped, NOW you apologize to him; you have just troubled his poor soul attempting to move” the high offices said sarcastically, and then there were giggles and laughs from guards filling the air. It was clear that the man was furious and in pain with his pride scared and slashed, he then with a swift inhuman move removed the arrow from his body and through it at the high commander which he barely dodged with a scratch which could have been a lethal hit on his neck. He then, furious, ordered a full attack on that man.

Raiden was shocked and surprised at the same time, any normal human would have barely withstand a pain of an arrow piercing his body, yet this man was withstanding the torment and torture of more than 15 guards using whatever they can to harm him the most, and that inhuman move he did, no human would be able to make in that condition with that precision. He then remembered Jack ensuring him that the man was not a human to begin with, but that fact didn’t stop him from wanting to help him.

After 2 hours of torture they decided to stop not because they thought that this was enough but because they were tired from hitting him, he was surprisingly still standing up, wounded more than anyone could be, and bathed in his own pool of blood, enduring all this pain to survive another day.
