me, he stopped and I knew it was his nature now. He kept crying and saying sorry over and over. And I decided that even thought he drank my blood he didn't deserve to die, so I called this academy and they took him away. That's the last time I saw him, althought he kept writing to me. Even to this day," said Adam wiping his eyes. My red cell phone beeped at that moment. I patted my brother's shoulder.
"I didn't know, I'm sorry," I said filled with sorrow. I wiped my eyes as tears streaked down my face.
"Can I see the letters sometime?" I asked Adam, stuttering. He nodded. Then I looked at my phone.
FROM: Snow
8:30 am
WHERE ARE YOU??!
I sighed. I slid my phone to show the full keyboard.
On my way. Y?
I hit send. Almost immediately my phone beeped again.
I uh something's happened.
My face scrunched up. I quickly wrote back.
What? What happened?
I hit send and waited a minute for her to type back.
I..nothing...I'll tell you later.
I immediately typed "ok" and turned off my phone. Adam already heard the click clacking from my full keyboard.
"Who was that?" he asked glancing quickly at me.
"Oh, Snow, she needs to tell me something," I said sighing, dying to know what it was. Adam's blue eyes lit up at the name of Snow. I already knew he was in love with her and she him, but they're not going out. It was a weird relationship.
"What did she tell you?" asked Adam as nonchalantly as possible. I laughed.
"she didn't tell me anything. She said she'll tell me later," I said suddenly frowning. Adam laughed this time.
"And you're dying to know right?" he said.
"Well, yeah," I admitted. He laughed again.
"Atleast you'll live up to your name! Curious Eve sneaking into the Garden of Eden and taking the fruit from the tree God told you not to take from," he said pulling into a parking space around the side of the school.
"I'm not like that," I grumbled. He turned off the car and gave me this look.
"Ok, maybe a little," I said laughing, pinching my thumb and forefinger together. He laughed while getting out of the car. Snow ran up to us. She looked different. Her snow white hair shimmerend and her face...did she get a tatoo?
"Snow, what's on your face?" I asked while linking arms with her. She moved her head so her hair covered up one side of her face.
"Um, nothing?" she said uncertainly. Then she sighed.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about..." she said, barely a whsper. I mouthed 'oh' to her just as Adam came bounding up. Adam was a head taller than me and I hated it.
"Hey Snow! You wanna eat lunch with me today?" asked Adam giving her his puppy dog look. Snow smiled for a second and then she looked sullen.
"I, I can't. I'm not going to be here by lunch or, or ever. I'm, uh, leaving," said Snow turning her face away and hiding behind her hair so Adam couldn't see what was on er face. Adam looked sad for a second.
"You're, um, you're leaving?" he asked uncertain. Snow gulped.
"Yeah, I'm being sent to this academy. No big deal," she said sounding more like herself. Adam's eyes hardened.
"Which one?" he asked through his teeth. Snow lifted her face astonished and put it back down but not before Adam saw what was on re face.
"What's this?" he asked putting a finger underneath her chin. so her face would lift up. On one side of her face was a design bordering her face from a little about her eyebrow to down her cheek and ending at her chin. It was kind of smokey and some foriegn color that was darker than black, the color of death. When she moved her head one way, the design shimmered crimson red, the color of blood.
"That doesn't look like a tatoo, Snow," I said slowly. She jerked her head away from us.
"That's what I was going to tell you, Eve," she said, her voice thick with tears, face still turned.
"You can tell us both now," I said encouragingly. The late bell chimed. She looked back at the school. She opened her mouth like hse was about to say something but Adam interrupted her.
"Snow, we're not leaving. I love you and I would do anything for you, but you're gunna tell us. Now," he said crossing his arms and bracing himself for her worst. Her almost black eyes widened at what he said.
"I love you too Adam," she said barely about a whisper. They gazed longingly into each other's eyes . I coughed and they turned to look at me.
"Um, I kinda want to know why that is on your face," I said slowly pointing at the design of a unknown color. Snow sighend and took a step closer to Adam.
CHAPTER 2
He took her hand and patted it, encouraging her to tell us. She sighed.
"Ok, well, I started to have nightmares," she started. I gulped.
"You didn't tell me that," I said trying not to sound accusing. She looked at me guiltily.
"You had enough to deal with, the divorce and then right after hearing that, all those nightmares...I mean, you didn't need my troubles on top of all that," Snow said. I shook my head.
"How long did you nightmares last?" I asked her. She looked at the ground.
"4 weeks," she whispered. I've had nightmares for 3, I thought. Fear was the emotion that was front and center in my mind.
"What else?" asked Adam, purposefully ignoring my terrified expression. I knew he didn't want to know even though he already did.
"Well, after 3 weeks of constant nightmares, I started having visions, or daytime draming, I don't know. Anyway, my parents said that I would stare straight ahead and scream for the whole...vision thing. But that would only happen if I was awake and it was pitch black," she said shuddering. Imprint
