'I'll get you another set of robes Harvey, Sorry it was my fault I just wanted to play a trick on you' laughed Garin as he helped Harvey up off the floor and made him take the oversized robes off,
'Here you go, these should fit you' Garin said as he tossed Harvey a new set of robes which landed on his head,
'NOT FUNNY…' Harvey said as he tugged the robes off his head and he put them on 'finally!!...these fit better!!' Harvey said sarcastically as he walked around the room almost marching so he didn't trip over.
'Right children, now you are ready we are going to see your father before I escort you off to the class for your first day' Garin said as he opened the door for the children to step through,
'Oh yippee!!' remarked Harvey as he kicked the floor in anger at the thought of having to go to classes again,
'Come on then children, let's go, best not keep your father waiting' said Garin 'and Harvey...you look fine and I promise you that everyone here is warm and friendly, you will be treated like one of us'
'Well if I end up outside the classroom again I won’t be happy and it will be your fault!!' Harvey now storming off down the corridor ahead of them all,
'Where does he think he's going?' laughed Lillie as she stopped behind Garin who was opening a door just down from where they were a minute ago, Daniel noticed Harvey was about to disappear and shouted after him,
'HARVEY...Harv...where are you going??' he said as Harvey stopped dead in his tracks and turned to face Daniel,
'This way!!' came the smart reply from the other end of the corridor,
'I gathered that mate but I think we are supposed to follow Garin in here' Daniel said pointing to the open door which was filled with the figure of a soldier who could be heard sniggering to himself as he knew Harvey had walked off and held back on purpose,
'Yes I knew that…' Harvey replied 'but I was just making sure that we weren't being followed or something' he stomped back down the corridor and shoved past Daniel, his face as red as the setting sun, mumbling under his breath to himself,
'Yeah whatever Harv..' laughed Daniel as he followed his friend into the room and Garin shut the door behind them.
'Ahhhh children..' smiled the King as he set eyes on all three of them standing there in their robes, looking slightly awkward apart from Lillie who was ecstatic at the thought of going back into school,
'I love these clothes!!' she beamed 'When do we start?',
'My my, you all look wonderful' the King said as he clapped his hands together in appreciation 'I have been waiting for this day for so long, Now my children, we must get you introduced to your new study group, I will go ahead and speak to your teacher, but I shall not mention the connection between us all, other than you are simply lost and in need of our help. Son, I will leave the children with you, when you have finished escort them to Lady Willo’s class if you please'
'Yes sir..' replied Casborn 'I shall be along soon', and with that the King smiled as he walked past the children and off out of the door, his footsteps could be heard all the way up the corridor.
Daniel turned back to where his father was standing and seemed a bit hesitant,
'What's the matter son?' asked Lord Casborn 'you seem a bit lost, is everything ok?'
'I..Err..I don't know really, It's just that it seems like we have been through so much since we got here but we have no idea about what's going on' Daniel said in a way that made him seem very down and looking for answers from his father,
'Well please ask anything son' replied Casborn 'you are here because it was meant to be, ALL of you were brought here to find something you were searching for, I cannot be more thrilled than I am already to be reunited with my beautiful son and my wonderful strong daughter, I cannot tell you how long I have been searching for you, my world now feels complete'.
'I have dreamt of the day that we got to meet you, it was the visions I was having that made me feel a strong pull towards you, I don't know how but it seemed that we just had to be here, but mum….' Daniel replied as his father knelt down in front of him,
'Your mother made the ultimate sacrifice in taking you from this place son, both of you, she knew there would be no way back from you're world, I could not know where you had gone otherwise you would have been in danger and the King wouldn't allow that, that is why you had to leave me behind. Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about seeing you again.' Casborn smiled, tears filling his eyes as he finally felt a huge weight lift off his shoulders.
'We are all happy father' said Lillie as she moved in for a hug, 'I just wish mum was here with us to see this day'
'She is quite safe from harm children, you see from the moment you stepped into this world time froze on her side, she is in a place where she cannot be found or harmed in any way' said Lord Casborn doing his best to reassure his children while Harvey just stood there silently, a glazed look spreading across his face which went unnoticed by everyone else, he was scouring the room for something, eyes squinted slightly, a voice in his head kept calling to him,
‘Look around...bring us more…’ the ghostly voice was getting stronger as Harvey slowly wandered round the room as Lillie, Daniel and Lord
Casborn were still talking in the middle of it, then as quick as it had arrived the voices vanished, Harvey shook his head and a cold shiver made his body tremble,
'Brrrr' he said out loud, causing Daniel to turn towards him,
'Are you ok Harv?' he asked 'something spooked you?' he laughed softly,
'I don't know Dan...Felt like someone had walked across my grave or something, I feel all icky now' He moaned as he shook off whatever it was and joined Daniel alongside his father,
'So children..' Lord Casborn said 'this is where I must leave you...this education must be taken, our history needs to be embedded in all of you in order for you to take the next step of your journey, I cannot help you on whatever path it is you choose, You and you alone must make choices, choices that may test you in some way, choices that will test each and every one of you in both a physical and mental way, no matter what happens I will always be proud of you, you have come back to me finally and I would love you to be by my side.'
'I hope we can make you proud then father' said Lillie as she hugged Lord Casborn just that little bit tighter,
'Do yourselves proud children, but please no matter how long it takes take in every piece of information you can as the final test you will all have to carry out will show us all that you truly belong here' Lord Casborn hugged his children again and went to walk off but before he did he stopped and turned towards Harvey,
'Now Harvey...I understand that this must be slightly hard for you but as you are Daniel's true friend I do look upon you as family, I sense a strength in you that I haven't felt in a very long time, just remember to channel it wisely and as I said before take great pride in the opportunity that has been laid out before you' Lord Casborn placed his hand on Harvey's shoulder and stared deep into his soul, his words echoing around inside Harvey's head as he stared right back.
Then Lord Casborn suddenly pulled his head back fast, shaking his head slightly as if dazed,
'Are you ok father?' asked Daniel
'Y..yes..I'm..I'm fine..' he replied 'I just felt odd for a few seconds, there's nothing to worry about, now come on children we must get you started in class, just wait outside please, I just need a quick word with Garin' and off the children went, Garin had seen Casborn looking shaken and walked over to him, a worried look appearing on his face,
'What is it? Are you ok' He asked as Casborn turned away slightly,
'I can't be sure Garin' he replied 'I saw something in that boy...something slightly disturbing, I can't quite put my finger on it though'
'What was it to do with?, did it show anything to you?' replied Garin who could see Casborn visibly shaken now,
'I saw an ending...it involved the children, they were surrounded by an evil of some kind, I couldn't quite see anything else apart from a man..someone I thought I recognised….then it was gone, Garin please watch over the children for me, ALL of them, but be careful of any interference, we cannot afford to lose them, and also please don't relay any of this to my father, if anything develops then I would rather I deal with it head on'
'Yes sir I shall do what it takes, within reason, to keep them safe and heading towards whatever path they may choose'.
And with that they both headed out of the room, Daniel and Harvey were play fighting as Lillie tried to stop them, she grabbed them both in a headlock and pulled them along the corridor behind Garin who seemed slightly edgy now, she let go eventually when they had calmed down, Lord Casborn was following behind, still seemingly taken aback by the events of earlier but he was putting on a smile that was reassuring to the children as they looked back to see if he was still there,
'Father do you think we will be alright, in the classes I mean, we don't know anyone here and it's a bit scary' Daniel asked, sounding slightly worried,
'My children, you shall be fine, you have my word that everyone will take to you just as we have, just enjoy what you are to learn' Casborn smiled back just as they reached the first classroom door which swung open with a CREAK.
Chapter Eighteen
First Day Of Forever
'Ahhhh children...do come in' the familiar voice of the King greeted them warmly into the room, as they walked in tentatively they could feel a thousand eyes burning into their souls, all wondering the same thing, who are the new people?, where did they come from?, a thousand questions from a thousand places all wanting the same answer. They looked slightly embarrassed as they continued in when Harvey caught sight of someone he recognised which caused him to tug at Daniel's arm,
'Dan...Look!!' Harvey said as he pointed at the class teacher. In the corner of the room standing just behind the King was a familiar face known to all three of them,
'That's Mrs Marley!!!' exclaimed Daniel 'She was my first teacher when I was small!!', as she stepped forward Daniel knew he had seen her before, a very long time ago, she always had a sort of soft spot for him and seemed rather protective, he remembered her giving him small pieces of advice about how to stay safe and always watch out for those closest to him, which now seemed to make sense seeing where they had ended up now.
'This is Lady Willo children..' said the King as she stepped forward and smiled at them,
'Hello children, first of all I'd like to welcome you to my class, we are known as ‘The Dawnfall’, there are two other classes like ours which you will learn about in time, as I understand it this will be your class Daniel..' said Lady Willo pointing to an empty table right in the middle
