it I threw my arms around his neck. He was a bit hesitant and tensed as I tightened my grip. I realized that my declaration had cut deep and a hug wouldn’t do this time. I turned to whispered in his ears and he became so rigid I thought he would break.

He somehow seemed to be frozen and I hid my face in the crook of his neck and closed my eyes tight praying that he wasn’t completely broken. So I felt one hand moved to rest in the small of my back and the other began stroking my hair, touching my ears before holding me at arms length. I kept my eyes closed tight fearing what I would see and silence stretch on.

 

Jayson stood looking at her with her eyes tightly shut. Like a child wishing for something with all her heart. The pulse at the hollow of her neck jumped rapidly, which only happens when she is extremely nervous. He caressed her lower lip free from her nervous nibbling and that’s when she opened her eyes. those blue eyes, as blue as the oceans seemed to pull him in. he was disappointed when she’d pulled away earlier but hearing all that he had, he realized that her life was a little more complicated that his. He’d been about to tell her that he was sorry for throwing himself at her and that he understood more now and that it was ok, but she’d astonished him when she threw her arms around him and it took awhile take things in.

When she’d hugged him tighter he tense not really knowing what he was to do. Then she whispered “I love you”, the words he’d wished to hear her say for so long. Now as he held he at arms length he could now see it in her eyes.

She had the look on her face he’d seen many times when she’d been caught off guard and it had vanished as it hadn’t been there once she noticed he was looking. The last time he’d seen it was during a Music appreciation class session and in the middle of the she’d started playing a song totally unfamiliar to many. But he’d heard it many times while he was around her and he now wondered if it was meant for him. Was she trying to tell him that she loved him all this time? If so, he was glad that she felt he was so special to her and hoped to hear the song one day. Pulling her back into his arms he smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear.

“I love you too.” He whispered back into her ear.

           I smiled as Jay whispered back, “I love you too.” I was over the moon excited to hear this and pulled back to look in his eyes. His dimples sank deeper as his smile grew wider and his emerald eyes glistened and shine like the gem stone. His face came closer, he was going to kiss me, I thought again and this time I let me. Our lips met in the gentlest of kisses, like being kissed by a butterfly.

I was eager for more and met him half way this time and allowed his tongue inside my mouth when it begged entrance. There were a lot of cheering from our friends and he started pulling away but I went up on tip toes, bringing our bodies closer and it made it impossible to pull away.

“Ok, break it up you two.” Jade teased

We stood for awhile gazing in each other’s eyes before sitting to watch the movie with the others.
