Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. Chapter 7 Alyssa

Like may parents always do on Thursday nights, they went to karaoke at the bar. I’m like, 90% sure that my mom can’t sing and like 100% sure my father can’t sing. I think all they go there for is to make fun of the people who can’t sing. Usually when they go out, I invite some friends over and then they invite some of their friends over, after that more people come in and apparently  they are my friends, friends, frends. So, after all those people show up, I have to kick everyone out because it gets way to crazy and I do not like to clean up other people’s messes. I stopped throwing those parties 3 weeks ago. Although it was only nine o'clock, I was laying in bed, I mean, I had nothing better to do. Wondering what time my parents were going to be home, I jumped when I heard a gunshot outside. Hearing these gunshots made me jump out of my skin, because it’s a law that you are not allowed to hunt after the sun goes down. Behind the curtains, I saw a dim light shining from the trees. As I jumped up to go downstairs and check outside, I heard another gunshot and someone coming up onto our patio.

I walked down the stairs, my legs weary. I stumbled through the dark, cold, kitchen and into the dining room. My heart was beating fast, my legs wouldn’t move and my mouth was as dry as a desert. I reached over to the cupboard to get a glass for water, but I stopped in mid-air as I saw a dark figure shift outside the sliding, patio door.  Piece by piece, I slowly walked over to the door and pulled back the curtains. It was a boy laying against the window in the fetal position. But the particularly unusual thing about him was that he was naked. I gasped as I saw blood dripping from his shoulder blade. Careful not to hurt him, I slowly slid the door open. Tiptoeing over him, he shaked and cowered away as if I was going to hurt him.  I crouched down in front and examined him. He was beautiful. Broad shoulders and muscular arms had brown tanned skin and his fingers were long and smooth. The curled fluffy hair on his head was a wonderful shade of brown and his eyes… His eyes were piercing yellow and they were filled with horror. Reminding me of my wolf I looked at his feet, they were bruised and swollen. I was about to say something when I heard him whisper in a croaky voice,

“Help”

I quickly looked up at his face and saw that his eyes were slowly closing.

“No, no, nnnooooo. It’s going to be okay, just look at me, stay awake. Please… stay awake for me!” I told him trying to keep him conscious. I peered back into the trees and saw a dark figure holding a flashlight start to back away and jog through the trees. That’s right, you better run you disgusting bastard.

“Come on, you gotta get up… It’s freezing out here you’re probably getting frostbite laying on this cold wood!”

I didn’t want him to get any more hurt than he already was. Once again I looked at the wound on his shoulder, it was a hole that wasn’t that deep, but still a big deal.

“You were shot!” I screamed, “Haven’t you realized this? I can’t have you lay here, what if you get hurt again?” I asked sounding hurt and trying to bribe him to get up and go inside.

He looked me in the eye and slowly started to get up. Even though I was quite petite, I slung his arm over my shoulder and helped him limp into the kitchen. His wound needed to be treated, so I struggled with him to get into the living room to lay down. Light filled the room as I flicked on the switch and set the boy on the couch. He looked my age, maybe a bit older.

“Lay down and I will be right back with some stuff to clean up your wound." I told him.

I ran down the wide, long hallway and opened the closet at the end. I grabbed all of the medical supplies I could find, and then ran back to the living room with my arms overflowing. I couldn’t believe that I was going to tend somebody’s wound, I barely knew how to put on a band-aid! He watched me as I searched through the medical supplies. I began to get embarrassed, so I thought of something to ask him and talk about. I searched and searched for something to say, but all I could come up with was,

“So, what’s your name?” I asked trying to sound smooth.

I know, I know it was dumb to say, but what else was I going to do? Sit there and blush while he stared at me? I don’t think so!

Before answering he shifted around and grunted a bit.

“I’m… I’m Grayson.” He answered. “How about yours?”

“My name?” I asked already knowing the answer, he nodded his head at me. “Well my name is Alyssa Alvarez,” He didn’t even say anything back and just stared at me the way my wolf does.

Okay… this is pretty awkward. Should i say something or should I just help him heal the wound?

“This might hurt a bit,” I said as I poured some rubbing alcohol onto a clean rag. When I touched the wound with it, he flinched and I pulled it back. I slowly put it back on and he flinched again, but soon relaxed as the alcohol seeped in and soothed his bloody shoulder.

“Should I be calling the doctor or ambulance?” I asked. He got a look of worry in his wide eyes before saying, “No, no, no! You can’t!” I jumped and put a confused look on my face.

“Why not? I don’t know how to care for a wound like this one!” I said (Very and I mean very, confused).

“Some stuff happened when I was a kid okay. I don’t go near doctors anymore… Or else they will find out.” He told me as he looked away. I wanted to learn more about what he was saying but I didn’t want to get too personal.

“Well… if you die…” I said, getting an idea. “It won’t be my fault! It will be Aubrey’s”

He looked up at me.

“It will be who’s now?”
