Read FICTION books online

Reading books fiction Have you ever thought about what fiction is? Probably, such a question may seem surprising: and so everything is clear. Every person throughout his life has to repeatedly create the works he needs for specific purposes - statements, autobiographies, dictations - using not gypsum or clay, not musical notes, not paints, but just a word. At the same time, almost every person will be very surprised if he is told that he thereby created a work of fiction, which is very different from visual art, music and sculpture making. However, everyone understands that a student's essay or dictation is fundamentally different from novels, short stories, news that are created by professional writers. In the works of professionals there is the most important difference - excogitation. But, oddly enough, in a school literature course, you don’t realize the full power of fiction. bridge, standing up on its rail he saw the SUV in which Rachel was kidnapped pull out from under the bridge. Without any hesitation he jumped over the bridge and fell on the hood of the SUV. A strong bang on the SUV shook it and on seeing Bob looking right at him and holding tight on either side of the windscreen, the SUV driver was shocked; he lost control of the car and bumped into the rocky wall at the side of the road; Bob fell off the car onto the ground. The car’s strong bang onto the wall woke up Rachel; she regained her consciousness.

Before Bob got up from the ground the Kidnapper guy had already quickly pulled Rachel from the car, and she was laid and held tight on his shoulder as he took to his feet to get away. Rachel was crying.

“Help me! Help…!” she screamed.

Bob got up hesitantly; he had thoroughly hit the ground hard. He had a cut on his forehead and it bled. He saw the kidnapper get away with the kid and he quickly went after him.

“Help me please…” whined Rachel.

On seeing what was going on, some people got out of their cars and tried to go after the man who had Rachel, but with his super high jumps and quick moves and beatings he put against them, none could compare, only Bob was his match.

Bob continued after the speedy and stable guy. They ran over non- moving and moving car roof tops as though it were their expertise and all the eyewitnesses looked on in disbelief. At times they fought on the hoods or car roof tops, with each beating the other and grabbing Rachel

from each other in turns as though she were a football. All a long she cried and cried, but she had to endure till it was all over. And it was soon over.

At one point while fighting on top of a moving trailer, with Rachel held down and tight on the villain’s shoulder, Bob threw a defining right kick onto his face and he almost lost Rachel off the trailer but Bob got her by her hand before she fell over. “Hold on tight,” said Bob, “You’re going to be all right, trust me.”

“Please don’t let me fall,” cried Rachel.

Meanwhile the villain guy had fallen and stumbled onto the trail and fell right in front of it and he was ran over. The trailer driver lost all control. And by the time the trailer fell off the road, rolled down the slope and blew up in flames, Bob had already jumped off it to a suffer place with Rachel in his arms, where they both watched on as the trailer went up in flames.

“Thank you mister,” said Rachel.

“Any time,” replied Bob, with a smile.

At night Rachel’s parents looking so anxious and stressed, sat in the living room watching the 8 o’clock News on TV and it was none other than Bob being praised and applauded by the media and the eyewitnesses who had witnessed all that went down in the little girl’s rescue. Bob was not in the picture personally but his picture was, with the heading “The mystery Can city hero.” A reporter asked one lady what she had seen: “Yes ma’am, can you tell the world how this mystery hero looked like.” The lady: “Oh my God, just when we thought he had banished from earth, he’s back, the mystery Can city hero is here!”

The reporter: “Did he look any different from two years ago.”

The lady: “No, he was the same guy, dark clothes and those shade glasses he never seems to take off. I would die just to look into his eyes.”

The doorbell at the Spencer’s rung and they were both up and quick to get to the door. Anna opened the door and there was their daughter with two police officers (a male and female). “Rachel my baby,” whined Anna. Rachel ran to her they hugged and she carried her into her arms and walked back into the house as her husband talked to the cops.

“Thank you very much officers,” said Tom.

“You should thank our true hero,” said the male officer. They all smiled. “Have a goodnight Mr. Spencer,” said the female cop.
“With my daughter back home, it’s certainly going to be a good night
now,” said Tom.

The cops walked back to their car and Tom walked back into the house to the excitement of having his daughter back, safe and sound.

Rachel’s survival and Bob’s heroism didn’t go down well with Willow. The next day he was at Marshal’s office to see him over that same matter. When he reached the busy police station with his two mean looking bodyguards, he walked straight to Marshal’s office. In his way stood a secretary who tried to block him from getting into Marshal’s officer.

“No, no, no sir, Mr. Winkfield is busy with some…”

Before she could finish the statement Willow had already carried her up by her neck and his face locked with hers he said to her, “If you weren’t pretty I would have already killed you by now.”

Willow put her back down and she was all shivering and crying.

“Now get the hell out of my way,” he continued.

She right away stood out of his way and he and his men walked right into the Marshal’s office. Marshal’s visitor was just leaving too. When Marshal saw the frustrated looking Willow, he with a smile shook his guest’s hand as he saw him out.

“Thank you for the visit professor,” said Marshal. “The pleasure was all mine,” replied the Professor.
Meanwhile Willow stood back with his men. “Gentlemen,” said the
professor as he walked out of the office.

“Would you care for a drink?” asked Marshal, gently.

“I didn’t come here to drink!” said Willow, angrily. One of his men right away pulled for him a seat and he sat down.

“All right then, less talk,” said Marshal. He sat down too, in his chair. “That bastard Gate is in our way once again,” said Willow.
“I saw it on the News, I thought he had died in the fire,” said Marshal.

“So did I. Till yesterday on the News,” said Willow, “He’s back to stand in my way!” He banged his fist hard on the desk. Marshal learned swiftly backwards on the chair.

“On the contrary,” he said, “I guess this will teach you to start listening to me.”

Willow got up instantly, banging his fist hard on the desk once again. “I
listen to you damn it!”

He took bout walks around with anguish filled on his face: he grinded his teeth and his fists were tightly clenched. Marshal got up from his chair and stepped forward.

“So what do you suggest we do to stop him this time?” asked Marshal. “You have all the weaponry, you tell me Mr. Officer.”
“Gate is not a stupid man. We need something good to finish him off,”
said Marshal, “Not just one drastic move that might get us back on the edge.”

With his fingers held together and swinging in front of his face to emphasize himself, Willow said, “Don’t you think I already know that?”

“So what is the plan?” asked Marshal

“You know what Marshal,” said Willow, “sometimes I just think your mother had you prematurely.”

He then walked out of Marshal’s office instantly with his men. Marshal mumbled to himself, “I sometimes think you were not meant to be born either.”

Bob was now a hero in Can city once again, and still, his old and new enemies watched him.

On the other hand, Rachel, in spite of being just twelve, she had some unknown enemies too. One night as her mother was in the bathroom taking a shower, she (Rachel) was in her bedroom and had dosed off on her bed and fallen asleep. Her father and young brother were in the living-room watching football on TV.

“You know son,” said Tom, Tim Johnson might have made fine homeruns, but surely this young man will surpass his greatness.

And bang, the whole front door broke into the house and three armed men with pistols walked in. Tom and his son got up instantly; they were so terrified; Tom held his son at his back as these mean looking men walked towards them; Tom’s eyes were dilated and he trembled from head to toe, his son shivered in fear too.

One guy stepped forward and stood so close to Tom, leaving no space between them and he asked, in a deep and precise voice tone, “Where is the girl?”

Tom hesitated, “Which girl?” he stuttered.

The deep voiced guy didn’t say another word, he just took a strong punch to Tom’s face and he (Tom) was down. Then he (the deep voiced villain) had his eyes next on Tom’s son. Tom was gathering himself up slowly.

“Ronny, run upstairs to mother, go!” screamed Tom.

Ronny moved backwards, stumbled and fell to the floor. “Ronny go!”
continued Tom.

The second villain guy kicked Tom so hard in the stomach and he was back down on the floor in a lot of pain. Ronny got up and ran upstairs. The third villain shot him once in the back. Anna who was just from the bathroom and walking towards her bed and drying her hair with a second towel heard the shot. She was startled. Ronny fell back, down the stairs and his body lay down at the staircase. Tom was crying and crawling towards his son; the first villain took a shot right through his head and he died before getting to his son.

Upstairs, when Anna heard the second shot, she quickly and in a panic rushed to her closet, pulled out a jean trouser and a blouse and put them on fast. She then went to the drawers and pulled out a pistol. She pushed it behind her blouse into her jean trouser. She got some flat

shoes from under the bed and run out of the bedroom to her daughters’
room. She wailed silently. She woke up her daughter. “Rachel, wake up honey, we’ve got to go.”
Rachel woke up and looked at her mother. Sleep was still on her eyes.
“Mummy why are you crying?” she asked.

“Sh….” said Anna while holding on her daughter’s mouth. She had heard shoe steps of people walking through the hallway. She was all shivering and her daughter’s eyes were teary. “Come on honey,” she said and silently walked her to the bedroom’s window.

When she looked out of the window she saw a guy standing by a car that was parked next to her house. She then put her hands on either side of her daughters’ face and said, “Honey, for some reason, we’re going out through the window…”

“Mummy where is…” Rachel chipped in. “Honey, if you’re asking about your father and brother, I don’t know.” Tears were profusely running down her eyes. “You see that guy standing over there by the car,” said Anna.

“Yes mummy,” said Rachel. She was crying too,

“I want you to go down this tree slowly,” said Anna, “And when you get down, hide behind those flowers
