tusks growing not above its jaw, but through its bottom jaw. It looked more like a walrus but it was just so horrific to look at. I had no idea to either leave it alone or just kill it. Knowing my bravery as an elder I took the perilous route of killing it. The mutant had no emotion though...It was as if it was dying and no life was present. For when I gave it a swap it took it right then and there. I got in a closer look to see if the damn thing got frozen or what not. But there it moved and lunged at my face. It gouged me eye with its tusk as it struggled to advance towards me...It was now or never as I saw the ice cracking underneath me...I ran away from the ice as the ice collapsed under the weight of the monster. It could not swim and down to Hell it went….” The polar bear said, as the crowd is starting to have some fear and doubts about their safety.

Reginald looks toward the direction of Central Park “..there is something out there…” he comments. “ some kind of crab monster, my grandson and his friends also saw something.”

Isaac continues speaking to the menagerie of animals

“Thank you all for sharing about your sightings, although I do want to share my encounter with a certain strange individual. It was late at night, about a week ago. The creature was slender indeed, he was covered from tip to toe in fur. Thick coarse dark brown hair was all but covering his face. An ugly site absolutely but, his expression when he saw me was more confused and possibly filled with agitation. For as he saw me he had left, without a sound in the night. The only thing I did remember was that he left a large print in the dirt. It looks human but I can not say this no more. That will be all. Everyone Dismissed!” Isaac roars as he walks off the stand. “Hmm...the possibility….it can’t be... ..never such a mistake of finding Roberts??” Isaac whispers to himself. “I never thought.

Chapter 7: Amicitia

The thought of those eyes on him still plague Chris as he continues his path alone into the industrial area of New York. He feels like an outcast, but then what of the shadows he saw. One of them was so similar to him. So now his story continues to find out that there is a possibility that he is not the only one. That he is not the only dinosaur in New York.

Chris thought to himself now he had to leave the group. He felt ashamed and that somehow it was his fault that. It was time for him to be alone by himself and planned to leave. It was late at night when he left and walked away from the gang and the other animals. As he walked through the herds of animals many thoughts raced into his mind. Especially Isaac staring at him with eyes filled with hatred and shame. The thoughts flashback to the incident that happened after the council that led him to leave the group. To make a long story short, during the council the animals everyone was looking at him. Some of the animals were formerly war veterans as well as parents. Many of the children were quite frightened when Chris walked near them, the parents then got concerned for their children which then gave concern for the safety of the parents from the veterans. Isaac was somewhat averted by the presence of Chris questioning his body shape and the features that he has. He did not like the fact he was bipedal and that he had two large toes on each leg. Isaac although was impressed slightly by his jaws and the muscles on his legs.

It was the fight with the mandril, the one animal that made fun of him because he was different. He was a dinosaur not a regular anila like the rest of the group. Then it got worse as more animals joined in. It felt like everyone was chanting and joining in making fun of him, bullying him for no reason. Reginald did stand up against them, cursed at them, and told them to leave him alone. Luke tried some, he was stiff and tried to comfort him as the best of his abilities. But it all came crashing down as one stood out. One mandrill who yelled the loudest had the nerve to do the unbelievable to him.

The mandrill shoved the other animals and ran up to Chris and yelled. “Why don’t you get hit by a rock already! Why can’t you just starve to death!” “Why don't you just leave, you are not one of the pack. You are not one of us… regular animals here.”

“Well I am here right now at this moment so I do not understand why you have to be so rude…to me right now. We can be friends you know.” Chris says to the mandrill trying his best to give him a small smile.

The mandrill was in no mood to make friends or even act semi-positive towards him at all as he turns his head and spits down on the floor. This mandrill is known to have strict rules and views on animals. If the animal was ever so pale like a mutant or had a body shape that looks like one. This pretty much made any albino animals that have come near the Smoky Den or any type of primates and how ironically such as himself would be considered not the typical normal he likes. The mandrill is also considered to be a follower of Isaac’s beliefs and other things that he likes Reginald considers him to be the “kiss-ass” of the entire clan, he does not agree that the fact he is not open to acceptance like he is and probably is making it not even possible for Isaac to fully see a clearer picture of unknown creatures that can be inhabiting the surrounding area. Chris tries once more to communicate with this ape.

“Hey I know I am strange-looking but, if you want to know I am a dinosaur, a dilophosaurus despite I have some things that a typical velociraptor would have,” Chris says to the mandrill.

“Gee….I didn’t need a history lesson from a youngster so why don’t you just play with your mutant pals and smell somewhere else. We do not need any more useless creatures that are just putting a show with their powers or such. If anything you're weaker since all the dinosaurs are extinct hmmm.” the mandrill says to Chris.

Chris’s anger began to show, as he started snarling and tapping his sickle claw on the floor faster. The mandrill continued to curse at him and did something regretful that almost cost him his life.

The mandril yelled at the top of his lungs “GO TO HELL YOU FREAK!!!!” Then threw a stone at Chris’s head.

Suddenly the room got silent. All eyes were on Chris and the mandrill, both frozen in time waiting for something to happen. Isaac finally decided to look up and realized what was happening in his domain.

Luke knows his best friend but also remembers the alley and the cats and the blood. He quickly walked toward him and whispered. “Hey….buddy you good?”

Chris was in his world and did not respond. The rock hit his nostrils, making it bleed. He lapped it up and looked at the mandrill. The mandrill continued to mock him and pointed at him. The other animals began to be quiet as Chris walked closer to them. Chris’s eyes rolled back and he growled.

“Hey, I told you to leave, what are you stupid?” The mandrill looks up at him as he snorts and attempts to push him back.

That's when it happened again. It was a big mistake that the mandrill moved his arm towards Chris’s jaws, that's when he clamped down on it and began to shake it. The mandrill screams out loud as the other animals get into a chaotic dance of fear. Luke and Reginald came near him and yelled at him to stop and let go.

“CHRIS YOU HAVE TO STAY CALM!!!, YOU CAN NOT LET THIS OVERCOME YOU!!” Reginald shouted as he tried to restrain Chris with his trunk.

He still did not let go, blood pouring down the simian’s arm with part of his forearm erupting out of his skin.

“CHRIS STOP NOW!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE!!!!” Luke screamed in nervousness and fear for his friend.

Chris had nothing in his mind but anger and his dinosaur predatory instincts. He just continued to bite on the mandrill's arm. Letting those teeth sink into the flesh of the arm.

Isaac then gave a huge roar. “ENNNNNOUGHH!!!!!!”

It's like that one road made everyone freeze. The animals running in chaos stopped moving and stayed quiet. The only thing that could be heard loudly as the wails and moans of the mandrill. This roar also brought Chris back to his old self again. He shook his head, his eyes unfold and he comes back to the real world. His jaws unclamped from the mandrill's arm, the mandrill quickly backs up screaming in pain.

The mandrill points at Chris with his good arm screaming in fear and pain. “He…. He tried to eat me! HE’SSS A MONSSSTER!!”.

All of the other animals looked at him in dismay and some of the children went closer to their parents. Chris looked at them all and looked back at Reginald, he looked only to the side with remorse. Luke had tears in his eyes as he shook his head. He looked back to see Isaac was in front of him.

Issac looked at Chris, “Come with me now!” he says loudly. He then leads Chris toward the back exit door so he can talk to him in private. At this time Chris gets a speech to himself personally by Issack that will change his actions forever. He looks at Chris with disgust, “I don’t have any words to say to you. What you did is wrong but it was also aggressive, fearful, childish, and embarrassed you. It also embarrasses the council and the rest of the whole pack. I do not know why your type of species exists now. A creature so ridiculous that it roamed this earth before, but you are just an insignificant lifeform that should’ve stayed extinct since long ago. If you couldn’t keep up with the evolutionary line before then you should just stay in the dark ages for I care. I rather damn myself to Hell, than look at you again, as of now, I want you out of my sight and leave from this nursery, and if you come back I will make it personal that my strikes are more painful than my roars ringing in your ears.

Chris listens to the words Issack says to him which hurt him deeply. As he was being scolded Chris looked at the corner of his eye and noticed three distinct shadows. One had a triangular head with wings, another that looked like a dog, and the last one looked similar to him.

The flashback ends as Chris faces his reality.
