into the car. Chase came slowly down the walk to the car and almost fell. I busted out with laughter.

Mom slowly began to pull out of our driveway. I stared at our less than perfect house. The broken shudder dangling from the far right, the several missing shingles on the roof. I didn't care what it looked like, it was my home, and I loved it. She got on the road and began to drive. I leaned against the window and watched the snow covered trees pass by. I closed my eyes after so long, and finally managed to sleep, a dark and dreamless sleep.

"We're Here."

"We're here!" My mom's sing-song voice echoed through our small Camry. I always got annoyed when she did that. I raised my head from the window and looked at the slight face print that was left. "Already?" I asked sleepily. My mom looked back at me and laughed. "You've beem out for almost five hours, Brooke." I stretched and looked at my phone. She was right. We left around six and it was already eleven. I sat up completely and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. After I did this, it hit finally hit me. "We're here." I had almost forgotten exactly where, "here" was. But the small brick house complete with a peaceful front yard in a seemingly quaint and quiet neighborhood quickly reminded me. A loud noise from beside me jerked my out of my saddening thoughts. I smiled and laughed. Chase was still leaned up against the window, snoring loudly and sleeping like a baby.
