impression." I huffed and turned off my lamp. I heard Jacob's laughter fade into nothing and that was when I knew he was gone. I ighed contentedly and fell asleep almost immediatly, dreaming of alternate dimensions where people like Jacob and me could be together.
Chapter 3
I woke up the next morning with a start. My alarm clock was beeping like it was possessed by the Devil and when I rolled over to turn it off, I was not surprised to see that I was already 10 minutes late for school. I rushed out of bed looking around expectantly for Jacob as I hurried into the bathroom and was disappointed and confused to see that he wasn't there. I brushed my long, brown hair and washed my face, thanking God that I had clear skin. I pulled on my hideous uniform, buttoning up my white collared shirt and wrestling into my cardigan ad I rushed down the stairs and into the breakfast room where a note from my mother was waiting for me. It read: "Dear Andy, we're shooting a scene off-set today. Had to leave early. I'll be back before dinner. Love you, Mom. P.S. Try not to be late on your first day." 'Too late for that' I grumbled as o crumpled up the note, grabbed a banana and rushed out the door to my waiting sedan. I slid into my seat in homeroom barely 5 minutes before the end of the period. My teacher, Mr. Garbon was an elderly man, unmarried and bitter. The second I walked through the door, all eyes were on me and he didn't make it better. There were a few snickers around me from my fellow classmates. "Feminine problems," I answered in a stage whisper. Mr. Garbon blushed bright red and responded "I see," quietly, erasing a mark in his binder. He cleared his throat and released us to read for the now 2 minutes left until the bell rang and I smiled, triumphant. Before I even got out of the room, I was approached by 2 blonde cheerleader-types, way too peppy to be normal.
