those my pencil crayons Pres?â I asked as he turned around wide eyed. He looked at me for a while before turning back around and mumbling something.
âSorry what was that? I didnât hear youâ I said while crossing my hands and sitting on my hip. Preston turned back around and looked at be.
âI said that daddy said you have to knock first before you barge into a room. He says itâs was rude.â Still looking at me I switched hips and placed my hands on them.
âWell I think we can make an exception this one time seeing as you have taken my pencil crayons without asking me. That being rude as well.â I smiled down at him and Pres started smiling as well. I held out my hand for the crayons and Pres reluctantly got up and placed them back into their case before handing them back to me.
âThankyouâ I said and bent down to his level, giving him a quick hug before exiting the room. â Oh and dinner is in about an hour buddy.â I said walking away.
Preston Winterâs â also known s my baby brother â is 5 years old and the most adorable, intelligent and mature kid you will ever meet. But then again me being his older sister makes my words irrelevant, but when I say this I mean it 100 percent. Kids at school as well as friends and family all think the same thing.
Both Preston and I have the same father and mother but our family is not your typical family, seeing as both my parents are males. Phil and Robert (Rob) are my dadâs but we use different names for them. Phil is daddy or dad while Rob is Papa or Pops. Many people say it is wrong for two men to raise children but if you saw how incouraging, supportive and loving they are â you wouldnât the wrong in it. Iâm happy with my two fathers verses crack parents that are a male and father. Plain and simple really.
Anyways, Preston and I have the same parents biologically as I was saying and that it because Papa (Rob) is our father and Dad (Phil)âs sister is our mother. They wanted both of us to be related to them and when they told their family of how they planned to have a family, Philâs sister volunteered to be the biological mother. So technically weâre the nephew and niece of our Phil. If that makes any sense, because I know it can be confusing.
I know it took me a long time to figure all this confusion out.
I walked into my room and went straight to my desk sitting down and continuing with my homework. An hour must have gone by because I soon heard a knock on the door telling me that dinner was ready.
I walked down stairs and into the kitchen taking my usual seat on the long table. Our family was quite wealthy, as well as my friends (Bianca, Tamara, Chloe and Harmony) and it was known around town seeing as we had servants who worked for us.
As I sat down I looked over at dad and pops seeing them talk about something amongst themselves. Just then Preston came running in with excitement and jumped on the seat beside me while placing his napkin on his knee. He looked up and looked around the table with a smile on his face.
âWhat is so entertaining about dinner Preston?â Dad said with a matching smile on his face. Dad was the âmotherâ of the relationship some would say, seeing as he was the one that would kiss Preston when he got hurt, or hang my report card on the fridge when I did well. Pops on the other hand was the âfatherâ, he went to work, came home, asked about our day and then went into his office to finish more work during the night.
âDonât you remember, I get to go over to Trevorâs house tonight after dinner daddy? You said I can sleep over because itâs a Saturday and Trevorâs mom invited me.â He said and picked up his fork when our dinner was served to us. I laughed silently at his seeing as he was always excited when he got to hang out with his friends because he usually was to busy to.
âOh yes, I forgot about that. Well after dinner you should go upstairs and pack for the night. Iâll drive you over and pick you up tomorrow at 10:30 for youâr piano lesson. Does that sound good?â He asked and Preston nodded his head while chewing a piece of chicken. Gulping it down he shoved another piece in his mouth and began to talk.
âYeah, I canât wait. Trevor and I were talk-â
âWait until youâre done eating before you start talking Presâ Papa warned but there was laughter clear in his voice. It was always nice to see Preston act his age because sometimes we all wonder if heâs an old man trapped in a kidâs body seeing as Preston usually acts older than his age.
âSorryâ he said once his mouth was clean of any trace of food. Papa turned to me and smiled.
âAnd what are you doing tonight honey?â he asked
âNothing different, homework maybe a little tv if I finish early. I donât know I just really want to hand in the extra credit so I can boost my mark up.â I said smiling at him, he smiled too seeing as he was my biggest pusher. He always wanted me home or at the library thinking about my studies while dad wanted me to experience my teenage years.
âYou know maybe you can phone someone and hang out for a bit, take a little break from the hard work youâve been spending on that project?â Dad asked innocently, with a pleading smile. I smiled and shook my head.
âNah, maybe tomorrow night when I know Iâm finished and can relax. You know?â
âThatâs my girl.â Papa said as if what I said was the best thing ever mentioned. I smiled back as the rest of dinner past by quietly. As I finished I politely excused myself and headed back up to my room.
The night carried on as dad, papa, and Preston would walk in and out of my room with snacks, talking about school, and saying goodbye when Preston left for his sleepover.
It was soon 10 oâclock and I just was putting the finishing touches on my work. I heard a vibrating coming from my night stand and I stood up quickly to answer it.
Me * Hello?
Unknown * Hey, Ivy? Just wondering if you wanted to come to a party thatâs tonight?
Me * Bee, You know I donât like parties and Iâm not really up to anything tonight. I just finished my extra-
Bianca * But itâs at Tateâs house.
I froze, I had been crushing on Tate Morrison for 4 years now. Ever since the beginning of high school when I saw him walk in and I immediately stumbled knocking my books on the ground. He helped me pick them up and introduced himself to me. Ever since then we became friends, but he doesnât know that I have been wishing we became more.
Just the fact that I might be able to see him tonight set me off my bed and into my closet looking for something nice to wear.
Me * Iâm on it, but hey can you pick me up. I wonât be allowed out and if I take my car I know my parents will find out.
Bianca * Yeah sure thing. Iâll be around in half hour?
Me * Sounds good. See you by the road across from my bedroom.
Bianca * Gotcha
We hung up and I frantically looked for something nice â yet something that will flatter me â to wear. After minutes of picking through my clothes I pulled out a cute green dress, it had other colours in it but was mostly green and different shades of it.
I went inside my bathroom and stripped down and into the dress. I yanked my hair out of itâs pony tail and quickly combed through it so my messy curles looked nice. I put on a little makeup, just enough to be noticeable, and then walked over to my bedroom door. Throwing a robe over my dress in case I walked down stairs and into the family room where Dad and Papa were cuddled up on the couch watching TV.
âIâm gunna go to bed soon so I just wanted to say good nightâ I said and kissed them both on the cheek with a quick hug.
âNight babyâ they both said and I headed up the stairs when dadâs words made me freeze.
âHave fun tonightâ he said and I looked back at them both smiling. I blushed and shook my head
âWhat are you talking about?â I asked and stepped down of the stairs with crossed arms.
âYouâre robe, when you hugged up, it opened and I saw the dress you have underneath. So I know youâre not going to bed.â He said and turned back to the TV. I stuttered over my words, looking for an excuse but dadâs arm being raised to tell me otherwise held me from proceeding.
âJust have fun sweety and be safe ok? Weâre a call away rememeberâ I nodded and smiled giving them both a quick hug out of excitement. They have never allowed me out like this before. I guess studying really does soften parents when you want to get out.
Shrugging I ran upstairs and grabbed my phone before walking down stairs and our the front door. I ran towards the road I told Bianca to wait for me at and hopped into the car as she pulled up beside me.
âHey you get out alright?â she asked as she turned around and headed towards the direction of Tamaraâs house.
âYeah my dadâs totally called it and let me out anyways. I cant believe it myself.â I laughed and turned up the music. Bianca started laughing and looked over at me.
âGod I wish my parents would cut me a break like that once and a while.â She said and turned back towards the road.
âMaybe they would if you spent all day doing an extra credit assignment for school instead of having a date night with Alec, or sneaking out to a party.â I said and laughed a bit.
âNah, thatâs to much work. Iâd rather just sneak out, get busted and then do it all over again. Thereâs much more adventure in my life that way.â I started laughing as we pulled in front of the road by Tamaraâs bedroom.
âSorry what was that? I didnât hear youâ I said while crossing my hands and sitting on my hip. Preston turned back around and looked at be.
âI said that daddy said you have to knock first before you barge into a room. He says itâs was rude.â Still looking at me I switched hips and placed my hands on them.
