Unless, of course, this was just a one-night thing for them and they didn’t want to see her again. Her stomach fluttered again, and for the life of her, she couldn’t decide if what she felt was disappointment or relief.
Danielle took another bite of her croissant, smeared liberally with strawberry jam.
“I can’t believe you live so close to us and we didn’t know it.” Jake sipped his coffee.
The three of them had checked out of the hotel and headed to the airport as soon as they were all showered and ready, allowing them enough time to get breakfast at one of the restaurants at the airport.
“I didn’t think you’d both still be in Carleton Falls.”
Ever since Trey had told her both he and Jake lived in Carleton Falls, Danielle had found herself wondering why they had ever broken up, and if someday they would get back together again. She could still sense a closeness between them that she believed went deeper than mere friendship. She was tempted to ask, but she didn’t want to make them feel awkward.
“Carleton Falls is a nice place to live,” said Jake. “Trey rides his bike to work every day he can, which is basically from April through December.”
“You make it sound like that’s a bad thing.” Trey pointed his toast at him.
“No, definitely not a bad thing.” Jake gazed at Trey’s chest and Danielle followed suit, remembering the feel of those tight hard well-defined abs under her fingertips.
No, definitely not bad at all. No wonder Trey was so fit.
“I wish you’d kept in touch,” Trey said. “Then maybe we could have gotten together before this.”
Danielle swallowed a sip of her tea, guilt niggling through her.
“It was so busy after I transferred, then I had all the extra TA work. . . .” She shrugged, but she knew those were just excuses. The real reason was that she’d assumed they’d all forget about her once she was gone.
“Well, now that we are in touch again, maybe you can come and visit sometime.” Trey grinned. “Maybe check out the university for nostalgia’s sake.”
She nodded. “Sure, that would be great.”
Did he really want her to visit, or was he just being polite? She sipped her black currant tea.
A voice over the speaker system announced that their flight would be boarding shortly, so they finished up their breakfast and headed for the gate. As they approached the desk to check in, Danielle slowed a bit.
“What’s wrong, Danielle?” Jake asked.
“We won’t be sitting together on the flight so . . . I guess this is goodbye.”
“Forget about that.” Jake plucked the ticket from her hand and stepped up to the desk.
A few moments later, he turned around and handed both her and Trey a boarding pass. They were in adjacent seats.
She grinned broadly. They want to spend more time with me.
Boarding began and the three of them walked down the tunnel to the aircraft, then down the aisle of the plane.
“If you’d like the window seat, you can have it,” Trey said as he stood in the aisle waiting for her to sit down.
She smiled. “Actually, I think I’d rather sit in the middle.”
Trey slid over to the window seat. Jake took her bag and put it in the overhead compartment as she settled in beside Trey. They chatted as passengers continued to board the plane. Once everyone was seated, Jake stood up and grabbed a pillow and blanket from one of the overhead compartments, then tucked it under the seat in front of them.
Once they were in the air, Jake handed the blanket to Danielle.
“Uh, thank you.”
“Sometimes it gets a little cold.” He opened the blanket and arranged it over her lap.
A moment later, Trey’s hand strayed under the blanket and stroked along her thigh. Jake’s hand stroked over her other thigh.
She glanced around nervously. The flight wasn’t very full and the two seats across the aisle from them were empty, so no one could really see them.
Jake smiled at her, and she smiled back, until Trey’s hand found her mound and he stroked over it—then she dropped her head back on the seat, her eyes widening a little.
“You are looking a little cold.” Jake’s hand slid from under the blanket and he shifted it up around her shoulders, tucking it in behind her.
Trey’s fingers slipped under her panties and stroked her slit. She could feel the wetness gathering there.
“Would you like something?”
Danielle started at the sound of the stewardess’s voice.
“I’ll have an orange juice,” Jake said as he lowered the little table to his lap. “How about you, Danielle? A soft drink or juice?”
Trey’s fingers dipped inside her. “Or maybe something hot?” Trey suggested.
Hot? Yes, please!
“I’ll take a tea, please,” she managed to say in a steady voice. “One milk and one sugar.”
The uniformed woman prepared her tea and set it on Jake’s table. Fortunately, Jake must have seen her coming, and he hadn’t put his hand under the blanket again after adjusting it around her shoulders. It might look a little odd that Trey’s arm disappeared under the blanket, but if the stewardess noticed, she didn’t show it. And, actually, she barely glanced past Jake’s debonair smile.
She placed Trey’s water on Jake’s tray, too, then pushed her cart farther down the aisle.
Trey stroked over Danielle’s slit again, and Jake’s hand slipped underneath the blanket and glided under her T-shirt to stroke over her breast. Over the next little while, her companions teased and tormented her. Jake toyed with her nipples, squeezing and stroking, occasionally licking his finger to add a little moisture. Trey dabbed at her clit, then flicked it gently until she approached orgasm, then backed off until she almost pleaded for release. Each seemed to have staked out his individual territory, with Jake up top and Trey below, but occasionally, Jake’s hand would glide downward and join Trey with a finger inside her, or add a tweak to her clit for
