A few minutes later a call comes through on my cell. "Speak."
"Wire, its Roth. I’m close to the location are you on your way."
"I’ll be there shortly." I reply not wanting him to know that I was already there waiting for him.
"Copy, I’ll do what I can to keep him from getting spooked." He hangs up without waiting for me to answer.
A minute later another car pulls up in the empty parking lot and I watch as Roth walks into the building. I quickly rush out from where I’m hiding and sneak towards the door. I listen in, but all I hear is Roth and the man talking about business being good. No sinister plans to blow my brains out that I could hear.
I bang on the door once and hear Dr. Strand ask Roth what was going on.
"Easy, it’s just my business associate. Finally, we can get down to what we came here for." Roth opens the door for me, and I stroll in.
"Wire, you good?"
I nod once as I follow him over to where the good doctor was standing.
"I understand you are the one who wanted this meeting?"
"That’s right. I have a few things to ask you about your specialty, doctor."
The man gulps before he nods his head. "Sure, anything I can do to help."
"Wonderful." I take another step closer to the man. Too close for him to stay comfortable. "I hear you do a lot of work with children."
"Um, yes. Is there something that you need?" He looks over to Roth before he turns back to look at me.
"Yeah, there is something that I need. I want you to tell me all that you remember about Lyrica and Simone Ryans." I stare at the man as I watch his eyes cinch in before they open wide.
"Who are you? What do you want from me? I don’t know anything." He tries to run, but I grab him by his shirt and toss him to the ground. The time for fear hadn’t come yet. I was going to do so many things to this man, me talking to him was the least of his worries.
His eyes dart down to my vest. "Wings of Diablo? I know you. You’re Wire, aren’t you? Yeah, we heard about you. You don’t want to do this. I promise you if you do anything to me it’s not going to end well for you or your family. Trust me." He tries to plead with me. I am so tired of fucking trusting people. I would trust myself and my gut was telling me to destroy this man.
"Fortunately for you, my family isn't going to have to worry about assholes like you. I wasn't around when you ripped my sister from her parents, but I plan on making you pay for that now. I hope you didn't make any plans, because you're going to be here for a while."
His face crumbles slightly and he tries to crawl backwards toward the door. I know what is around the area, Roth had done a good job at finding something that was pretty secluded. Still, I didn't have very much in the material department.
Roth comes up behind him and injects something into the side of the doctor’s neck.
"What the fuck! Roth, you fuck ..." The doctors voice trails off as he passes out.
"What the hell is that?"
"We need to get him out of here, no?" His eyes squint slightly as he looks at me in confusion.
"I don't have anywhere to take him. I can work with what I have here."
"Nah, don't worry about it. I have a place set up. Got a few things together before I drove over." Roth pulls out a length of rope from inside his jacket and begins to tie up the man on the floor. He tosses me the other rope and I proceed to tie up the doctors’ legs. There are no questions only action. Roth must know that I don't trust him, but it’s like it doesn't even faze him.
"Where is the place?" I ask as I finish tying the man’s legs securely then make my way up to the man's face to wrap some rope around his mouth creating a temporary gag.
"It's about 4 miles from here, an old plastic factory. It's been shut down for years, but I know for sure no one has bought it."
"Got it." I nod and stare at him for a second as he continues to work. He's now going through the doctor's pockets to see if the man has anything that may be of use. He pulls out his phone, keys, wallet, and a small tool of some sort. I've never seen anything like it, but it didn't matter. The good doctor would never need to use whatever it was again.
I stand as lookout as Roth drops Dr. Strand’s body into the trunk of his car.
After that I take the keys and drive the small Prius towards the back of the building where it would be hard to see before I rush over to Roth's car and get in.
"Let's get this party started." I say and wait for him to drive off. It's been so long since I've had to really hurt someone. A fight here and there sure, but it's been years since my last true torture session. Ink took over my job as the club’s pain manager. He's good at it and he needs it. I didn't think I did any more, but the excited feeling I have bubbling up in my chest makes me think otherwise.
I notice that the fence was broken open, "I thought you said that no one has been here?"
"No, I said it hasn't been bought. I came in before I met up with you and dropped off the equipment I could find."
"Are you sure that it's
