confident, and my dick hasn’t been interested in this much action from the same woman in months. I’m usually done and ready to chew my arm off to escape if she wants to cuddle or go for round two.

Mia’s head rests on my shoulder, and I stroke her jet-black locks. Her hair feels like satin, and she smells like flowers. Her nipple is exposed, and I circle it into a hardened peak. She moans, and I’m ready.

Rolling her onto her back, I nudge her legs wide and wake her by gently lapping at her clit and stroking her with two fingers, which have migrated their slippery way inside her while she sleeps. I can feel the bundle of nerves as I massage her G-spot. She clenches tightly around my fingers and moans again. She’s awake.

I look up at her half-open eyes as she settles back and revels in the experience. I lap up all of her excitement. She tastes amazing.

After a moment she sits up, and I roll over to my back as she reaches for a condom. In moments she’s rolled it on me, climbed on, and impaled herself. It’s tight, but after she adjusts, she rocks back and forth. She finds her rhythm, and I reach for her breasts. I palm them until I groan and send my seed into the condom. For I moment I wish I was sending my seed deep into her body and claiming her. Where did that thought come from?

As we lie back and catch our breath, I look at the clock. “I need to meet Jeremy and the guys for breakfast. Do you want to come?”

“Yes. But only if it’s appropriate. I can meet him another time. I can catch up with Nate and Lilly or work on my computer. I could actually go to my room,” she adds with a laugh.

“Let me see what the guys have going on. They may have gone to bed only a few hours ago. You never know.”

I pull my phone from the bedside table and type out a text.

Me: Good morning. Have you gotten any sleep at all?

I don’t get an immediate response.

Jeremy: The guys are still out, but I’m awake. I went to bed around eleven last night. You still up for breakfast?

I turn to Mia. “Something’s up. Jeremy went to bed early last night, and it was his party. Do you mind if I meet him alone for breakfast?”

“Of course not. Go. Have breakfast. See what’s happening with him. He has the day off, so do what you need to do.”

“Okay, but I’d love to spend the afternoon with you and see the game tonight.”

She smiles. “I love that idea. Go have breakfast with Jeremy. I’ll be here working.”

I kiss her. “I wouldn’t mind a repeat of last night first.”

My hand begins to wander as I kiss her again, and she spreads her legs.

“Sorry I’m late,” I say as I slide into a booth in the hotel’s restaurant across from Jeremy.

He looks at his Apple Watch. “You’re precisely on time.”

“I’m so proud of you,” I tell him. “I think we should try to talk your parents into coming out for a game next week when we’re back at home.”

“I talked to them last night, and they’re not sure they can come.”

“Why not?”

Jeremy shrugs. “There are a lot of moving parts at the farm.”

“I’ll call them. Maybe if I tell them I’m buying the plane tickets, they might be more receptive.”

“If you can get them to think it’s your money, I’ll pay you back.”

I nod, and we walk up to the breakfast buffet. I choose some scrambled eggs and fruit. When we return to the table, Jeremy’s plate is piled high with scrambled eggs, biscuits with sausage gravy, several links of sausage, and several slices of bacon with a side of what looks like a half of a loaf of toasted bread slathered in butter. Where does he put it all?

“Tell me how last night went,” I begin as he settles in to eat.

“It was crazy. I must have been sprayed down with twenty bottles of champagne, and you know how many reporters I talked to.”

I pull out the newspaper I picked up in the hotel lobby on my way in. “You made the front page. According to this, you threw thirty-three pitches faster than the record yesterday.”

“It would have been better if it was a no-hitter.”

I sit back and shake my head. “You want it all, don’t you? Never satisfied.”

Jeremy looks down at his plate and takes a big bite of his eggs, avoiding an answer.

“Who’s your roommate this trip?”

I get a single shoulder shrug. “Jonas Raymond, but he stayed with his agent last night, so I had the room to myself.”

“I flew down yesterday on Nate Lancaster’s plane.”

“Slumming it, I see,” he ribs.

“Absolutely. You have a lot of support. Nate had a surprise for me on the flight—Thomas Luck. I think Thomas was trying to get more playing time for Jonas Raymond. With both of us on the same plane, it seems Nate was making a point that he supports the team leadership’s choices.”

Jeremy’s shoulders relax. He nods.

“What are you doing today before you have to be at the park?”

“I’m not sure. Probably just hang out in my room. I wanted to go to the zoo, but no one wants to go with me.”

“Maybe my friend would like to go, and we can all go together. Would that work?”

He looks up at me, his eyes bright. “Sure.”

Me: Any interest in a trip to the zoo with Jeremy today?

Mia: That sounds great. Yes.

“My friend is in. Her name is Mia.”

“Are you hanging out with a girl?”

I nod. “It’s new. She’s a
