the mop, quickly bounding up from the couch. I stumble backwards and quickly grab my wash rag and return to scrubbing beer off the counters. Fuck! I nearly had it!

“Sorry!” Rachel says into the phone while pacing back and forth with the mop over her shoulder.

She sort of reminds me of a military sergeant. A sexy, bratty military sergeant. I hate to admit it, but there is a part of me that is completely turned on by this whole fiasco. She can be quite bossy. And it makes me wonder what she would make me do to her in bed.

“Ugh! You would not believe my night.” She tosses her head back and stares at the ceiling, something I notice she does pretty frequently. “Well, seeing how I don’t trust the boys to clean up their shit, I’m kinda stuck here. And who knows if they’ll break into my room.” She sends both me and Seth a dark scowl. I ignore the shivers going down my spine. “You know what, why don’t you guys come over here? I would really like to have both your opinions and I really, desperately need this study night.”

I drop my wash rag at the same time Seth drops the trash bag in his hands. The bottles rattle inside as they hit the floor and one even rolls out. We send each other a look across the room.

Like hell she’s having people over, Seth’s eyes read.

I know, right? I try to say with my eyes. I turn back to psycho bitch still pacing back and forth. I’m about to yell that it isn’t fair, but I immediately clamp my big mouth close. She is way too close to the TV.

“Ok, perfect.” Rachel beams and twirls around. Her gaze meets mine and once again I tell myself that the fluttering in my heart is nothing. “I’ll see you soon. Bye!” With a click she shoves her phone into her leather jacket and throws herself back on the couch.

Seth steps in front of her, his hands on his hips. “What the hell was that?”

“What the hell was what, Garcia?” Rachel deadpans.

“You get to have a party after you just kicked out all our guests?”

“Yeah!” I shout. Rachel turns around and I feel my face heat. “It’s not fair,” I say more quietly, grimacing at how idiotic I sound.

Rachel rolls her eyes. “It’s not a party. It’s a study group, which I was happy to have outside this apartment, but you assholes decided to keep me here.” She motions around the room. “And so here I stay.”

“Alright you fuck faces!” Shouts Lukie while stalking out of the room. I stifle a gag when I see the hairy and grimy rag in his hands, which he chucks into the trash bag. “Switching time. There is no way I am spending my whole night cleaning that bathroom.” He points down the hallway at said bathroom. He looks around the room, his gaze pausing on Seth standing in front of Rachel with his hands on his hips. “What’s going on?”

Seth motions to Rachel. “Why don’t you ask our tyrant?”

Rachel scoffs, but says nothing, stuck in a stare down with Seth.

I guess I will have to be the one to inform Lukie. I lean in close to him, not wanting to distract Seth from whatever stare competition he is in with Rachel. I mutter, “Rachel is having friends over.”

“What?” Lucas nearly shrieks. He stalks over to stand next to Seth. “After you threw out our guests? What the actual fuck!”

Rachel bounds up from the couch and twirls the mop in her hand before aiming the handle at Seth, who quickly jumps back. It’s like that thing is a sword or something, the way she handles it. “Like I said before, it’s not a party, it is a study group, which I had planned for somewhere else originally until you assholes got in the way. Now!” She levels the mop at Lucas, who stumbles backward, nearly falling into the TV. I yell, lunging over to grab him, but thankfully the asshole balances himself. “You don’t want to clean the bathroom. You know the rules. Rock paper scissors. Loser cleans bathroom.”

The three of us shuffle into a circle. The thing about Lucas is we know he always chooses rock. Even when he tells himself not to choose rock, his hand just moves naturally into that position. Maybe it’s because he’s a rower? I’m not quite sure, but Seth and I both know he’s the one responsible for the nasty condition of that bathroom and neither of us are cleaning up that shit. I glance at Seth, and he meets my gaze.

Paper? I question him, hoping he understands.

He gives me a curt nod. Paper.

“Alright, are you ready?” Asks Rachel.

All three of us groan in response.

“Rock, paper, scissors, shoot,” we say in unison.

Seth and I shoot paper, while good old reliable Lukie, shoots rock.

“God fucking dammit!” He throws his hands up in the air. “I demand a rematch.”

Rachel clucks her tongue and shakes her head. She pouts mockingly and points down the hallway. “You know the rules, Lukie.”

Lucas runs his hands through his perfectly coiffed hair, frazzling it a bit before turning on his heel and stomping down the hallway. “This fucking sucks!” He shouts before slamming the door close.

Rachel giggles and sits back into the couch, placing her hands behind her head and watching Gilmore Sisters with a terrifying smirk. Once again, I ignore the seductive whispers in the back of my head, wondering what it would feel like having her above me, taunting me.

There’s a knock at the door and I watch Rachel open it, revealing two sexy little things. One in a short skirt and knee high socks, while the other in a short dress and stiletto boots. Wow. If this is a study group, then Rachel needs to invite me. The brunette looks around while the blonde sniffs the air. They look at each other before shrugging and entering inside, dragging along their
