“who hasn’t faked an orgasm?”

He grins at me.

My heart does some funny little flip.

“Go again,” Eve laughs.

Adan thinks on it. “Never have I ever laughed so hard I farted.”

I burst out laughing.

“I’m not answering that,” I giggle.

“You have to,” Remy chuckles. “It’s the rules.”

“Ugh,” I mutter and take a drink.

Everyone loses it laughing.

“Come on, come on. Just ask me a question I haven’t done so we can move on.” I roll my eyes with a grin.

Adan’s eyes lock onto mine. “Never have I ever fucked in the rain.”

Dammit.

I haven’t.

I haven’t fucked in the rain.

Not out in the beautiful wild, with rain falling over my skin.

I don’t drink, but my cheeks heat up at the very thought.

“Oh, shit, I think you got a reaction.” Hugh laughs. “Girl is red as a beetroot.”

“Eat a dick, Hugh,” I say, pushing my bottom lip out.

“I bet you’d like to, though, wouldn’t you?” Remy grins at me. “Good fuck in the rain?”

“Are you offering?” I throw back.

He grins bigger. “You know I wish I was.”

“Let’s get on with it,” Adan says, his voice cutting through the sexual tension on the beach.

“Fine,” I say. “My turn. Never have I ever taken it up the ass.”

Everyone bursts out laughing.

Adan grunts and doesn’t drink. “I’m not that way inclined.”

“I doubt that, brother.” Beckett chuckles. “I bet you’d like to give it a try.”

“Fuck up, Beck.”

I laugh. “Fine, next question. Never have I ever been in love.”

Everyone goes silent.

It’s a sneaky move, I’m not going to lie, but it’s a question I am curious to see his answer on. He stares at me because he knows damn well what I’m doing. I’m seeing if there has been someone in his past that he’s loved, someone that has broken him and made him the way he is now. I’m certain there has to be.

He doesn’t move for a moment, and I’m starting to think that he possibly hasn’t been in love, but then he lifts his beer to his mouth and drinks it.

Oh shit.

Adan has been in love.

That’s an answer I wasn’t expecting.

Not at all.

My heart skips a few beats as his eyes hold mine. Then, in a gruff tone, he says, “Next.”

Oh.

Shit.

I get up and go over to the camp for another beer. Eve rushes in behind me.

“That was clever and also, what the feck?” she whisper hisses. “Adan has been in love.”

“Right?” I say, glancing back at the fire. “I didn’t see that one come.”

“I wonder who she was? I’m going to ask Riggs. This is too much for me. I need to know. I need to know it all.”

“Take it easy, I’m sure Riggs doesn’t even know judging by the look on his face.”

“God, this is so juicy. It’s killing me.”

She can talk.

It’s making me full crazy.

Now I know there has been someone that has owned his heart, it’s going to be very hard for me to think of anything else.

A flicker of lightning catches my eye in the distance and I turn, asking Eve, “Did you see that?”

“Yep,” she says, her voice breathy. “Do you think we’re going to get a storm.”

“God, I hope not. We’d be in trouble if we did. Those tents won’t hold.”

“I’m sure it’s nothing and we’ll be fine. We are in the middle of the ocean, it’s very likely it’s just a distant flicker that we just happen to see.”

Yeah, I hope she’s right.

I’m not sure I’d want to experience a storm on an island.

Ugh, no thank you.

I’ll stay where it’s dry thanks.

Here’s hoping it remains out on the ocean and doesn’t come near us.

Fingers crossed.

EVE WAS WRONG.

The storm is rolling in. It has been getting closer and closer by the hour and our night is cut short when we have to set up two tents as far underneath the trees and shelter as we can. Luckily, Riggs packed two canvas tarps that are really hardy. The guys have spent the last hour securing them to a tree to stop the tents from getting soaked. They’re bound on there well, but it doesn’t make me feel safe ... at all.

We set up the two strongest tents underneath that tarp, and put anything extra back in the boat in the storage compartments. Riggs has been down there anchoring it to a tree to make sure it doesn’t go anywhere and we don’t get stuck here. We’re all going to have to bundle in together tonight, in a couple of flimsy tents.

Okay, so they’re not flimsy but they’re certainly not safe, either.

They’ve put extra pegs and ropes in them, as well as used the other tents to drape over them so no water gets in. Then we all put our bedding in there and worked out who was going where. Somehow, mostly from Eve’s hand, I end up right next to Adan in their tent. It goes, in perfect fucked up order, Riggs, Eve, Me, Adan and Lorelei. The others are in the second tent.

It’s fucked, to put it mildly. I’m lying between my best friend and the man I have some pretty strong feelings for, and I’m not certain I’m okay with it. The storm hits probably twenty minutes after we all pile into the tents. Riggs is muttering something about it was supposed to be good weather and fuck this, but I can’t be sure exactly what he’s saying.

The storm hits, and it hits hard.

I know it’s probably just a normal storm, but from in here, with little to no protection over our heads, it sounds a lot worse than that. Eve rolls away, and I know she’s in Riggs’ arms. I can feel Adan beside me, but I don’t know which way he’s facing. He’s probably holding Lorelei’s hand and here I am, stuck in the middle, with nobody to hold my damned hand.

There’s something else—I fucking hate storms.

They terrify me. This is the reason I didn’t want to come here in the first place.

Because this shit happens.

I don’t realize I’m trembling until a warm hand curls around
