“I see.” Jane looked disappointed but not crushed, which was perfect. “Guess you should get on home and call her then.”
“Yup. Have a nice time out.” Picking up the clipboard, Mitch headed to drop it off at the nurses’ station, then get out of there. He had a girlfriend to talk to.
Domi
“Mommy, who are you texting?”
“Ah, no one. I mean, no one you know,” Domi said, putting her phone down and directing the smile that wouldn’t quit at her daughter. Ana squinted at her suspiciously, and on the other side of the couch, Rae raised her eyebrows, clearly guessing who Domi was texting. But really, what was she supposed to tell her daughter?
The first date I’ve had in years.
Your new daddy.
The guy I’ve been banging and now have been on one date with.
Yeah, none of it really parsed down well for a five-year-old’s understanding. Domi wasn’t even sure she should tell Ana she was dating, especially since Ana had already met Mitch and liked him. What if she wanted to see him, too? What if she got attached, and things didn’t work out? What if she decided she didn’t like him?
It was too new, and Domi wasn’t ready yet. Though the conundrum also reminded her why she’d avoided dating in the first place. Ana came first. Always. That was why having a fuck buddy had been so perfect, right up until her emotions decided to ruin everything.
Stupid emotions.
On the other hand, things were going really well with Mitch. He’d kept in touch, even though they hadn’t been able to see each other. Domi worried a little about how unconcerned he was about that, even though she was grateful. His job kept him really busy, which didn’t hurt.
Eventually, she’d tell Ana she was dating. Once things were a little more settled. When she was ready to let Ana hang out with Mitch. She knew Ana would want to. She’d already asked if they were going to see “Murse Mitch” again when she went in for her checkup and had been very disappointed to be told they’d be going to her regular pediatrician instead.
“But who is it?”
“Don’t worry about it, sweetie, it’s no one,” Domi said, causing Rae to cough. Ignoring her, Domi leaned in toward her daughter, nodding at the television where Frozen was playing for the eleventy millionth time. “Are you bored with the movie? We could do something else.”
“No!” Ana looked aghast, but the little trick worked. She immediately turned back to the television, concentrating intently to prove she wanted to keep watching. On the other side of her, Rae shook her head.
Domi stuck out her tongue at her bestie. It wasn’t the right time to tell Ana. It was way too soon. She and Mitch had only been on one date.
Mitch
Second date success.
Dinner and a movie, at the same time, thanks to the new theater’s recent upgrade. Sure, the food was expensive as hell, but it was fun. Much better than eating dinner and then going to the theater, only to buy a massive bucket of popcorn. He needed to eat in a movie theater; he didn’t know why… it was like a compulsion. Thankfully, Domi felt the same way. They chatted through their appetizers, and the main meal came right before the movie started.
About halfway through, Mitch discovered the theater had also upgraded the seats. Pulling up the chair arm between him and Domi, Mitch grinned as he pulled her in. She squeaked and elbowed him in the side. Even though they were in the back row and the theater was pretty empty since it wasn’t a new release, they weren’t alone.
“You’d better not be thinking what I think you’re thinking,” she muttered under her breath, eyes never moving from the screen.
Mitch made a noise of insulted affront, snuggling her in closer.
“Please, you’re the one who tried to have your way with me on the first date,” he whispered back, making her giggle. “This is only our second date, so I’m pretty sure I only get to go to second base. Maybe third if I’m very lucky.”
His cock was not super happy about his plan for restraint, but a little abstinence wouldn’t kill him. Besides, he enjoyed torturing Domi. This was a bit unconventional, as erotic torture went, but it worked. There was a part of him that got off, knowing they were both sexually frustrated.
Palming her breast over her shirt, hearing her soft intake of breath, there was something very appealing about taking their physical relationship slow, even though they’d already had sex. This was like a fresh start.
Knowing they weren’t going to do more than fool around was a sweet torment of its own.
“Mitch…” She hissed out his name as he squeezed her breast, plumping the soft flesh through her shirt. He could feel her nipple hardening into an aroused bud, and she did nothing to actually stop him. Anyone looking back at them wouldn’t see anything, but a couple cuddled up against each other. Well, probably. His hand was above her shirt—something easily fixed.
He slipped his hand down and under her shirt before sliding it back up. Domi gasped, squirming in her seat.
Leaning down, Mitch whispered in her ear, “You know your safeword if you want me to stop.”
His fingers pinched her nipple through her bra, and she whimpered, the sound easily covered by the car chase on the screen. Mitch’s cock jerked as he nibbled on her earlobe before pulling her closer to him. One hand on her breast, the other touched her leg, right at the hem of the skirt she was wearing. It was much longer than the skirts she wore to the clubs and more flowy, allowing him to easily slide his hand between her thighs.
“Keep watching the screen,” he whispered, nipping her earlobe again. “Don’t look away.”
Like the cinema gods had been gifted with foresight, the car chase ended, and the hero and heroine ran off, exuberantly.
