We heard a few pops coming from the club house and I knew that Shepard and Ryder were living up to their orders. They were fighting for their lives.
There were at least a two dozen men there, a dozen already on the floor. Shepard and Ryder were behind the bar doing their best to keep the wave back.
“Ryder!” I yelled out. I wanted them to know they had help. Their family was back.
“Prez! We’re fucked!” Ryder yelled back, coughing from the smoke the small fires were giving off.
“We got you!” Devin called out quickly getting into position and taking out three men in quick succession.
“Get them the fuck out of my house!” Wire yelled out as he led the push into the main area. We were closing in on the last of them.
I got behind some cover and took my time aiming at each and every one of these fuckers. I didn’t want any of them to get away. No prisoners and no survivors. No would ever know of the people that tried to go against the Wings of Diablo. There would be no one left to tell the fucking story.
“Alex!” Mikki screamed my name from behind me and in that brief second my world felt like it was crumbling again. Laura’s face flashed before my eyes and I could see her running towards me as Alejandro raised his gun and shot the life out of her eyes. I could see her falling to the ground again, the thud of her gorgeous head bouncing off the floor. My Laura. I shook my head once trying to focus on what was happening around me. This was different. I wasn’t there and Mikki was here now.
I turned to see where she was calling me from. She was behind a large steel table, shielded from the bullets. When she caught my eye, she pointed quickly up towards the rooms. I glanced just as quickly in that direction.
Mother fucking Alejandro Vilanuevas in the fucking flesh was crouched down just looking at everything playing out below him. The second floor of our clubhouse was all connected by one walkway that lined all the doors, there was only a small bannister that kept folks from falling off and back down to the main open area of the club house. He was right there.
I hunched as far down as I could while keeping him dead in my sights. He was so focused on what was happening down here that he didn’t even notice that I was about to blow his fucking head off. His eyes were darting back and forth. He was clenching his fists. The bad ass from the Bolivian Cartel who destroyed my life and that of my brothers in so many different ways was panicking. It was so god damn poetic.
“Wire!” I called out, my voice carried above everything. He turned to look at me, a question on his face. “On your word!” I waited with my finger on the trigger. He turned and looked at where my gun was pointed. A rare smile crossing his lips.
“Take him.” Wire called back.
Alejandro finally realized that he was fucked and stood to run.
Too late, you fuck.
I pulled the trigger and the bullet sailed through the air and straight into his body. The force of it was so strong that it pushed him back against the wall and then back forward over the small banister. He fell gloriously from the second floor to the first, his body landing in a strange twisted heap of bones and flesh. He was still alive though.
He landed in the middle of an army of Wings, Spawns and soldiers from the Croatian mob. I bet he didn’t think his day would end like this.
We circled him. Everyone with hatred and evil in their eyes. I was sure we all wanted a piece of the man who made our lives a living hell.
“Wait, wait. You don’t understand. I was trying to help you people! No hagas esto! This is wrong. It’s wrong and you know it!” The pussy tried to pull himself back and away from danger but there was nowhere else for him to run. He was out of luck, out of an army and out of life.
“Čekati!” Marko Juric called out from behind us. Wire put his hand up to stop us. We turned to see Marko walking with two men at his side. They looked incredibly familiar.
“Mis hermanos, lo siento. Ayuda me, por favor, Ayuda me.” Alejandro put his hand out, a phony ass tear trailing down his face.
“Oh brother. What have you done?” One of the men spoke. His english heavily laced with his latin accent. This was another of the Vilanuevas brothers.
“We told you to leave it alone, now look. Mirate! You have disgraced us. You have disgraced your family.” The other brother said.
“Now you must pay, and for that we cannot help. We love you brother. Bendición.” With that the both of them turned their backs on him.
Marko walked over to Wire and clapped him on his back. “Take care of your business son.” He turned and walked over to where the two brothers were.
Wire didn’t even wait until the men were out of the clubhouse before he put a bullet into Alejandro Vilanuevas head.
I walked over to him and watched as the light dimmed from his eyes. I would have good dreams with that image in my head.
Chapter 27
The uproar of happiness and relief that echoed through the building was deafening. It was finally fucking over. It seemed like a lifetime was ending and we could finally get back to what we all wanted to do with our lives instead of worrying about what was coming down the line.
I turned to look for Mikayla, for a moment I panicked because I didn’t see her right away. I knew she didn’t get hit, there was no way.
I relaxed when I saw her standing to the side,
