hot blondes, and there was absolutely no one else in the house right now.

11: Altering Decisions

Lily Dodson

April 13, 2735 – Current Day – Late Evening

Lily finished putting her cherry-red latex sheets on the bed, to avoid burning down Freya’s secret underground shelter in the event she had a nightmare, and then she sat down looking around the room. Freya told her that she hadn’t been here in over thirty years, which is why she’d never mentioned it, but it was clean like a maid had been by only yesterday.

Then again, no people coming in and out, combined with a really expensive HVAC system, meant no dust, which was usually the biggest indicator of long-term vacancy.

The vampiric super owned the property where this place was hidden, surrounded by fencing and trespassing signs, with the house being completely off the grid and hidden away from sight.

Literally, hidden from sight.

When they pulled up to it, the door was concealed behind a boulder and looked like the entrance to an old-fashioned cellar, prompting Lily to think they were going to have to hike to find it.

But nope. They were already there.

And the hidden underground home had everything someone would need to camp out for a while, including two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, and all the necessary appliances. It also had running water and electricity powered by a very expensive resonator, hidden in the trees, with a ridiculously long life-expectancy.

The only thing the place didn’t have was food, since this was a spot Freya designed for herself, but that was perfectly fine with Lily. They brought plenty of baby formula for Eden, just in case, as well as some canned goods for herself.

She’d pretty much missed dinner, not being able to eat after Sam left, but she definitely wasn’t hungry right now.

If anything, she felt a little sick to her stomach.

This would be the first night she’d spent away from Sam in what seemed like forever, not to mention she was worried about Lexi and Heidi. She couldn’t even imagine what they just went through, or how scary and traumatizing it would have been.

But at least the danger was over now.

Lexi’s attacker should think she was dead, and it sounded like the government was doubling its efforts to try to track this guy down. Freya wasn’t worried at all now, after her initial panic, but hadn’t wanted to turn around when they were already over halfway there.

Taking a deep breath, Lily looked up when the door opened, with Freya silently slipping inside and closing it behind her, locking it as she did so.

“Done feeding Eden?” Lily asked.

Freya nodded. “Rose isn’t tired, so she’s going to watch her for a while. Figured it would give us some time to relax a little and talk.”

Lily scooted more onto the bed and crossed her legs, the red latex sheets crinkling underneath her, with Freya sitting down right up against her knee, looking at the wall pensively.

Neither of them had taken the time to change, leaving the busty vampire in one of Lily’s black latex nightgowns, the top barely containing her chest, while Lily was wearing a pair of black latex shorts and a silver top that was actually one of the few FRIL camisole shirts that Freya owned back when her chest was much smaller.

Currently, it was one of only a handful of latex shirts Lily had available that wasn’t super baggy in the chest area, with the thin adjustable straps on the shoulders helping it fit better.

“You alright?” Lily wondered quietly, reaching out to rub her shoulder.

Freya smiled, lifting her hand to grab Lily’s and pull it into her lap. And Lily let her. Freya then took a deep breath. “Would it bother you if I ate a little?” she wondered.

Lily looked at her in surprise, her fingers trembling just slightly. “S-Sure,” she agreed in a shaky voice.

It had been three days since they discovered that Lily could heal almost as fast as Sam could, though it was very doubtful she’d be able to recover from an injury that was too serious. Yet this was the first time Freya had asked about one of the first things that popped into Lily’s head after she accidentally cut herself and the wound vanished.

Without further delay, her best friend lifted her hand up to her lips, gently kissed her on the wrist for a few seconds, and then very carefully sank her teeth in.

It hurt.

The pain wasn’t as nauseating as being cut with a knife, but it still made Lily wince and want to pull away. However, after the initial bite, the discomfort began to subside, prompting her to take a few slow breaths as Freya sucked on the wound.

However, then her forehead split open, her third eye focusing as it appeared, prompting Lily to look at her in confusion.

“What’s wrong?” she wondered. “Did you think it wasn’t me?”

Freya was silent for a moment, before gently licking Lily’s wrist as the wound closed up, only to finally shake her head.

“No, of course I knew it was you. I just wanted an update on your thoughts. I wanted to know how you felt about this situation, because I want to talk about it.”

Now Lily was really confused. “Okay? What are you thinking?”

She took a deep breath, holding Lily’s hand in her lap again. “We need to figure out what to do about Lexi and Heidi long-term. Because even though this threat is basically over for now, there might be others in the future.”

Lily’s heart sunk, depression settling down on her shoulders. “You think we should kick them out of our lives,” she assumed.

Freya unexpectedly looked at her in surprise, examining her somber expression. “Well, that is one option, but Rose would be devastated if we did that.”

Lily was confused again. “Then you mean?” Her eyes suddenly widened in shock, before she looked away, feeling depressed for a totally different reason.

“Yeah,” Freya whispered. “We either need to kick them out, like you said, or else pull them fully
