knew at some point she would need to get back without being noticed. For now, she felt content to stay right where she sat. She needed the comfort. Maybe if she got lucky, she could spend most of the day there without Shimani finding her. She had too much to work out in her own mind. She wanted to go home, and she wanted to stay. How many times in her life would she get to be part of such an adventure? It didn't feel like an adventure to her. She didn't crave adventure. She knew she probably should try to look at the bright side of her situation. She missed her home and her peaceful existence she left behind, not that she left on purpose. She didn't want to think about the people she left behind and how worried they must be about her.

She looked around the meadow for the umpteenth time. A part of her thought, hoped, that she would find Moto at Crystal Lake. She let out another sigh when she found the meadow as empty as upon her arrival. Moto wasn't there. He disappeared from her existence and she didn't like the feeling. She found herself wishing the voice in her mind was Moto. She wanted to believe that somehow, he would know she desperately needed to see him and would suddenly be there with her. She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. Never in all her life, did she ever want to be around a male the way she wanted to be around Moto. She felt as drawn to him as she did to Crystal Lake. She couldn't deny there was something about him that drew her. Neither could she do anything about it. As long as he remained out of sight, she wouldn't be given the opportunity to figure out what that something was and why she felt it. When she did find him, she intended to give him a piece of her mind. She would have called out to him, if she believed for a second that it was possible. She was already in the process of losing her mind. She refused to help it along by believing such foolishness.

For now, she focused her thoughts on her current predicament. Just like on her first time to Crystal Lake, she saw sand. She felt it, but she knew it to be an illusion. She saw gem like stones at the bottom of Crystal Lake, again. The longer she stared at them, the clearer they became. The shapes and colors brighter, sharper than she saw the last time. Although, she thought of them as gemstones of a sort, gem stones didn't quite describe the stones she saw more clearly now. They sparkled like gems, but the longer she stared at them the more they looked like smooth oval shaped river rocks. She would describe their appearance as very large opals, but far more vibrant with multiple colors. There were blues, greens, reds and iridescent whites. The colors moved within the stones as if the colors themselves lived. An animated swirling pool of brilliant liquid hues. Over the time she sat on the water's edge staring into the depths one stone came into greater focus than all the others. It appeared to be red, blue, green and iridescent white all at the same time and yet not. Each color overlaid upon a smooth stone and each color shone through, but no one color dominated. The stone shown vibrant, a constant swirl of color. Definitely, the strangest thing she saw, ever in her life. A strong need stirred within her to see that specific stone up close. If she could reach out and grab it, she would. The predicament! She couldn't just reach in and grab it. Would the stones be an illusion like the sand? She didn't know, and she could not decide if it worth the risk to find out.

The memory of her last visit, and subsequent foray into the deceptively clear, inviting water kept her butt firmly planted on the edge of Crystal Lake. Still, the need grew inside her. It became an all-consuming desire to see that stone, to hold it in her hands. She couldn't deny the danger present in the water, and this time Moto wasn't there to save her. Shimani's warnings re-played through her mind for the umpteenth time. Yet, she felt the pull. The longer she stared at that stone, the stronger her desire to see it up close became. She couldn't ignore it. An overwhelming desire drained what little good sense she possessed. The stronger the pull, the quieter the warnings from Shimani echoed in her mind.

Almost as if in a hypnotic state, Kaily stood. She didn't take her eyes off that stone. She absentmindedly took her dress off. The image of the stone became crystal clear in her eye and mind. The stone seemed to rise closer to the surface, so close she could almost stretch her hand out and touch it, or at least it's how it felt to her. She rubbed her hand over her under clothes and against her thighs. He palms grew moist with perspiration. She licked her lips. She could feel her reluctance to dive into the water slipping away with each beat of her heart. A part of her feared what she so desperately wanted to do. With each passing second, she felt more of her reluctance disappear. It felt strange to feel her impulse control disintegrate. Intellectually, she knew diving into that water to be foolish. At the same time, she wanted nothing more than to dive in the water's depths. It felt as if her very life depended on it. Her focus narrowed so only the stone remained within her field of vision. She, barely aware of the struggle inside her between impulse and control. A peace stilled over her as the last of her resistance fell away.

Kaily?

It didn't quite register in her mind that she heard Moto's
