âNow that weâre alone, I can tell you that I doubted what OâMalley wanted help with. When he asked if I wanted to die because Iâm a waste, I told him no, but I didnât think he really wanted to die either. I thought he did all those plans because he wanted help with killing the first Sider he talked about and take over both universes.â
âThat first Sider is the one in charge of both universes?â John questioned. âOâMalley only talked about the first Sider becoming a Demon and killing the second Sider, but he didnât reveal that bit of information.â
âNot so much in charge,â Jamie replied. âMore like she set a few rules for Transcendents. I only know one rule, thoughâno fighting. OâMalley told me that even a casual fight between Transcendents is strong enough to destroy planets by the dozens.â
John nodded. âI have one last question. When you told me about the Rank 9 immortality, you said that you produce vitality to nourish different parts. Level 1 to 3 for the organs, 4 to 6 for the body, 7 for the soul, and level 8 and 9 for the brain cells.
âHowever, when I went through Rank 9 immortality, the first 6 levels were like you had described, but level 7 to 9 were for the brain cells and there was nothing about the soul. Why is that?â
Jamie knitted his brows. âIâm not sure. I told you my personal experience, so if itâs any different then I donât know why.â
John began thinking about the differences before he thought about something OâMalley had said. âDo you know about the three different types of soul ranks after reaching Rank 9?â
Jamie shook his head and John had a revelation.
The loss of the proper cultivation method from the battlefield is worse than I thought. Not only did the proper method get lost, but also the information about the soul ranks were lost, too.
Jamie must have gotten the second ranked or even the worst ranked soul if he had to use vitality on his soul at Rank 9.
I got the information about the soul ranks while inside the battlefield and I hadnât reached the compressing part of the immortality skill yet, so Iâm luckier than I thought since that information might have changed how the compressed immortality skill worked, letting me get the best ranked soul.
Not long after John finished his train of thoughts, OâMalley came out of the castle with a man following behind him.
The man was clean-shaven with slicked-back hair, and he was wearing a three-piece, grey, striped suit. It was the first time John had seen a suit of any kind since coming to this universe, but it was reasonable to believe OâMalley or another Sider had designed it or, at least, told this man about suits.
John saw the man stretching and yawning; it was obvious OâMalley had just woken him up.
After the man had stopped yawning, he looked at John and asked, âYou da man that OâMalley âere said can kill me?â
John was slightly taken back by the way the man spoke. He was under the impression that a man in a fancy suit would sound posh, polite, or even normal. What he heard was completely different.
Coming out of his shock, John nodded towards the man. âI am.â
OâMalley laughed. âI would say youâd get used to his manner of speaking after a while, but hopefully you donât have to. Let me introduce you. This man is Finlay Moss and he is almost as old as me. Heâs one of the few people I know who wonât change his mind about this.â
OâMalley then placed an open palm towards John while looking at Finlay. âThis man is named John Allen. I think you should at least know the name of our saviour.â
Finlay smiled and nodded at John before saying, âIf tis works den thanks.â
John only smiled back at him before he created a blank Information Sphere and chucked it towards Finlay.
Finlay caught the sphere and brought it to his eye level to look at it closely.
âPlace that on your forehead and think about any and all the information you find useful that you donât mind passing onto others,â John started. âThe information could be from what youâve read, experienced, heard about, or got from an epiphany, but I donât want useless things like what youâve experienced in your love life.â
John smiled and continued, âIf thereâs any useless information in there, I wonât kill you.â
This is a first. How it usually goes is, the threats are about killing the person, not about not killing them. Theyâve been waiting to die for who knows how long, so this is the best method to milk them for information.
Finlay frowned. âHowâs tis gonna work den? If yous get da info but canât kills me, den I get short-changed while yous profit for doing nowt. But if yous kills me before getting da info then ya canât know if I did what ya asked.â
John shrugged. âYouâve been waiting for this for a long time, not me. How many more years or millenniacan you wait for another chance at dying if I walk away? Isnât just doing what I asked worth the chance? If it doesnât work out, then Iâll have to make it up to you in some other way.â
Finlay squinted his eyes while staring at John before sighing and bringing the sphere to his forehead, doing what John asked.
Good thing he isnât like OâMalley and threatens anybody close to me to get his way.
An hour later, Finlay chucked the sphere back to John who caught it and brought it to his forehead as he shut his eyes.
The amount of information coming out of the sphere overwhelmed John. He had to stop all his mind parts from working on anything else and instead got
