God want our love and obedience to Him
The choice He gave was righteousness or sin
God wants our love that He doesn’t control
The reward He gives is our eternal soul
The age old question, why are we here
The answer, to be His loving children that He can hold dear
The mind remembers
We are so lucky
To have all our limbs
That we move freely
At our every whim
Even trees have limbs
And most living things
An essential body part
Most take for granted
For some these things
Are distance memories
The mind still remembers
Of what used to be
The eyes don't lie
They see the truth
Man made appendages
Give help to some
For others the loss
Won't let them run
What they are able to be
With these new limbs
It's simply amazing
What they can do
Dexterity will come
The more they are used
It must be great
That the mind can feel
What the eyes see
e sounds of life
The sound of life keeps us company
In the city in the country
The sounds of the honky tonk band
To the noise of the traffic jam
But baby the sound I want to hear
Is when you love me?
That beautiful sound
When your heart is lying near
The entire world is right
With the sound of you holding me tight
There is that pleasant sound
Of the swing at night
In the quiet of the world
Under the moonlight
I love that peaceful sound
Of the waves rolling in
But I want to hear our lips touching
As we listen to our hearts sing
THE WIND OF CHANGE
There was a city below the sea
Surrounded by walls of water
Then Katrina came
They no longer protected thee
The city of New Orleans
You could barely see
Almost like Atlantis
It was going beneath the sea
The famous Bourbon St
Has no more dancing
No more Mardi Gras
No parade of people prancing
Things could have been done
Many years ago
To shore up all the levies
Before Katrina blew
Lives to repair
And a city to rebuild
A whole culture of people
Are washed away like silt
Humans are helpless
As the winds of Katrina blows
We are only observers
As Nature often shows
Many years to rebuild
But may never be the same
New Orleans that coastal city
Might become a memory
The earth is always changing
Has done so for billions of years
It does it at it's own pace
You can't plan for what you can't see
Is there any good
To take from this
Among all the pain and agony
We the people are family
When there is tragedy
This Side of the Grass
I have troubles
Like so many do
I am being pulled apart
Is my love for her through?
My spirit is at its low
Don't know witch way to turn
Somewhere there is a lesson
Something always to learn
All in all
It's much better
Being on this side of the grass
All of these troubles
In time will pass
I've got to keep pushing
To get to where I want to be
And hope there is someone to hold
When I finally get there
I've got to keep pushing
Till the earth covers my dreams
Got to keep pushing
Till my life runs out of steam
Three men on a cross
There were three men hanging
On a wooden cross
One was here to save
To die was His cost
The man on the left
Said I believe
The man in the middle
Said today you’ll be with me
Only one was nailed
The other two were tied
Two where hung as thieves
The other for our righteousness
They gave a crown of thorns
To mock the Hebrew King
Little did they know?
That he would rise again
Everybody in the world
Their life would change
He set a new course
On that bloody cross
Three men hanging at Calvary
Two couldn’t change a thing
Thank God for Jesus
And is love for me
Without His sacrifice
Our souls could not be free
Tsunami
Tsunami rages under the sea
One hundred thousand plus
Got in its way
Devastation
On those Asian shore lines
This giant wave
Took many lives
Wiping out villages
No remembrance
Of what once was
There have been wars
That don't take that much
Pain of missing loved ones
And nothing to eat
Helps on the way
It will be a Herculean feat
They will rebuild
And remember the dead
Let's not wait for destruction
To help our fellow man
VALENTINES DAY
Another February
Another valentines day
A day to say I love you
In special ways
How about some chocolates
You favorite kind
You’re still on your diet
Maybe some other time
How about some flowers
You say they’ll just die
I give you my heart
It last a lifetime
Getting jewelry
That’s always nice
If I give you all my love
Would that suffice?
A card with a heart
With someone else’s words
Or you can have my heart
That you always deserve
Valentines for sweethearts
In everyone’s lives
Just happens my sweetheart
Is my wife
Valentine emotions
Tugging at many hearts
The day for many
To find their missing part
A marking ploy
To sell more stuff
One day to say I love you
Will never be enough
This day I acknowledge
You are connected to me
So I give you this poem
The best thing about it it’s free
What a Year
What a year it's been
As we end 2005
More natural disasters
That many have seen in their lives
We had the Tsunami
On those Asian shores
Then there was Katrina
Thought New Orleans
Would be no more
We are already in Afghanistan
Spreading thin In Iraq
Too many young men are dying
Time to bring them back
There was an earthquake
Shattering lives in Pakistan
Bombs are exploding
it seems in every land
There is some trouble in France
People getting out of hand
Then there is the bird flu
That's got everyone scared
Let's hope 2006
Has less trauma and drama
May more love cover us all
And the ones in need
never be forgotten
WHAT COULD HE DO
An evil winds blowing
Across every land
A philosophy of people
To kill is God’s command
Out of the shadows
A vicious ideology
Minds of mad men
Their cause will be their grief
What could he do?
When the sky turned gray
When buldings tumbled
And lives disappeared
What could he do?
When they invaded our peace
Battle them everywhere
So that they never sleep
Most don’t have the stomach
To do what needs to be done
They do a lot of talking
Only cowards cut and run
We have been fighting forever
That’s how we got here
Our military is our power
And what keeps us free
What could he do?
Can’t reason against their cause
Questions are easily ask
Unless his seat is yours
WHAT MY FATHER GAVE TO ME
I got from my father
What his father gave to him
Is the story of Jesus
And all the love He gives
He never had much money
He was busy with eight kids
Worked his finger to the bone
He gave all that he could give
Chorus
The wealth wasn’t in the bank
Wasn’t in the 401k
Didn’t have a mansion
To leave behind someday
The gift that he leaves us
Is worth much more to me
The way to get to Heaven
A reward I have everyday
I have been handed down
The greatest of all things
Taught how to walk through life
As a child of the King
Like his father before him
Jesus lead the way
You can see it in their spirit
And in the words they say
Chorus
The wealth wasn’t in the bank
Wasn’t in the 401k
Didn’t have a mansion
To leave behind someday
The gift that he leaves us
Is worth much more to me
The way to get to Heaven
A reward I have everyday
Where I'd like To Be
Philly is my hometown
But LA'S where I am
Left the tears behind me
Her love for me was wrong
I'm going towards the sunshine
To find my way of life
All the pain I carried
Will be taking a different flight
I am here to renew my energy
To tap what I have within
To change my life's direction
And throw my hopes to the wind
I know where I come from
And where I'D like to be
I'll always be from Philly
But my music is my dream
Winter
It's winter time
The ground is getting hard
Most living creatures
It's time to slow life down
Gray skies cold winds
Transforms everybody’s mood
The world around has changed
Right under our very own nose
Won't be sitting on the park bench
Don't need to languish there
Now that I can see my breath
In the bone chilling air
This is just natures way
To make us all pause
The ones that prepare
Have no trouble at all
We change with the seasons
Like all living things do
Take everyday with a cheerful attitude
And chase away the winter blues
Wow What a Year
Wow what a year
In two thousand five
The world had earthquakes
The effects of a tsunami
And hurricanes to survive
But here in Eagle land
We went from second to worst
Mc nabb and other players
were playing a little hurt
We had the TO saga
Unhappy with his pay
This once great defense
Couldn't stop anyone one Sunday
We had a quarterback
Who didn't have a clue
Except for the other team
He was always throwing to
Let's forget this year
And put it out of our head
Let's hope two thousand six
Is the year the Eagles fly
Chorus
Honey I say I love you
But they are just words
Baby I said I need you
The words you all ready heard
