Glytherin glanced at me once or twice. Into sight, I saw the castle.
âOh my goodness.â I said. âItâs huge.â He smiled and nodded. He looked at himself up and down.
âYou know what you are?â he asked. I shook my head. âWell,â he said. âYouâre on a whole other dimension, your not breathing earthâs air---â
âIâm not an alien! What are you talking about?â I said. He raised his eyebrows. âWeâll find out,â he said. âYouâre not an alien but you breath this air, the earthâs air is toxic to you, it is to everyone who is born here. Itâs just how it is.â I was completely confused.
âAnd what is that supposed to mean? Iâve been living on earth almost all of my life...I think.â He nodded.
âYes, but when you live there for ten years, you begin to loose some of your senses and what ever makes you, you. Like your voice, then it took away your hearing, next it wouldâve been your taste, touch, smell, and last to go wouldâve been sight and you wouldâve died.â I didnât believe a thing he was saying. I looked up at the sky. This whole place reminds me of that stupid dream I had when I was eight.
It reminded me of my mother and all the things she made up to make me go to sleep when I had dreams. These setting of these dreams were very close to what was right here. I felt something break down on me. I was having another dream wasnât I? When Glytherin dropped me, I must be out of my mind now. I couldnât speak; I couldnât hear still, it was only a dream. Disappointment filled me. I walked on trying to let this moment last. I looked at the flowers, I looked at the green grass and all of the people who were all wearing armor like I had been which transformed into a whole lot of things. Unlike my dream, the sky was a bright orange color, not blue but such a bright orange, it reminded me of butterflies. I hated butterflies. âIt looks like itâs going to rain.â Glytherin commented. âThatâs why the sky is orange this morning; it always does that when it rains.â
We reached the castle door that took some force to actually get open. Rust sprinted from it as I tried to push. As I looked inside, I refused to go in.
âWhatâs wrong?â he asked. I spread my hand over the surface of the castle. It was all velvet carpet. Was this medieval business? I didnât like medieval dreams. The castle seemed like a million stories high, in fact, I didnât see where it actually stopped in the sky. âAfter you.â Glytherin said.
I stepped on the carpet with my ballerina flats. It made a noise that rustled. Glytherin came in after me. âWhat are we doing here?â my voice echoed. Glytherin shushed me. âI donât want anyone to exactly know youâre here.â He said. Why couldnât anyone know I was here? I felt palms underneath mine. I felt a longing to shriek as all of a sudden, armor built onto him. He dragged away.
âWhatâd you do to me?â he asked. He hasnât seen this either? I shrugged and he stopped there. âWow.â He said. âIâve wanted to get armor for so long, how do you do that? Did you use some kind of spell? The princess will be pleased that I finally have my armor; she actually thought I was going to be the ineffective guy.â I looked at him with confusion. The armor lowly scaled up his body and went down to shape up his legs and neatly covered his head into a shield. âCan you help me get this off though,â he said muffled. âI mean, itâs nice to get armor that is made the correct size for you, but I donât think I want it on when I go to the queen.â
âI donât know how to take it off and I have no idea how it even came on.â I said. He sighed silently. âThatâs too bad.â He said. âI wanted to keep it.â He began ripping the scales of armor one by one as each disappeared before falling to the ground and making too much noise.
He told me to follow him again. We went through a couple of halls where names were put into each door showing whose rooms it was for. All names were something that you havenât really heard before but based off of real names. Ethanian, Gloretta, Nathro etc. I eyed each name remembering some and the easiest ones, forgotten. As I walked on, I bumped into someone who stood tall. âHello, Glytherin, what are you doing here?â
Glytherin stuttered for a moment. âLooking for the queen.â He answered. The man I bumped into settled his eyes on me.
âWhat is the princess doing out of her throne?â he asked Glytherin again. He breathed out showing much stress.
âExplanations are only due to the queen, not one of her soldiers." Glytherin grabbed my hand again but there was no armor. I guess once you do it once, and tear it apart. You canât do it again. He pulled me aside and brought me to a bigger area of the castle as two women sat on a thrown. Glytherin pulled me to the right of the hall behind a small wall to keep me from being seen.
âOk,â he said, âthe queen and the princess donât like me barging into their home, and they definitely donât want me coming in with anyone either.â
âBut youâre getting married to one of them.â I complained. He nodded.
âI know, but it doesnât mean anything, and perhaps you heard that the woman is forcing me to marry her, well, donât tell that to anyone, you and my friends are to only oneâs who know.â He looked around for a moment. âStay here until I say, âI need you to meet someone.â understand?â I nodded. I stayed behind the wall. Glytherin went forward. I heard a small tiny voice. It was the princess.
âWhat are you doing here Glythe? Itâs early in the morning, you know this is my relaxing time; I canât be bothered with your non stop pestering.â He nodded.
âI understand OpheliaâŠâ thatâs when I stopped listening. Ophelia? That was too close to my actual name, Orphelia. âAnyway, I need you to meet someone.â I stepped out from the wall but the princess yelled for me to stay. âGlytherin!â she yelled. âYou know I canât have random murderers seeing my real identity! You know that! How could you put me in danger like this? You and my mother and residents and guards, and guests, and dress designers, and your friends, and my friends, and the civilians know, not murderers!â
âNo, they arenât the only ones who know,â Glytherin said. âThis person knows exactly what you look like, you definitely just think itâs ok going around fairies and stealing there identities, but this person that you chose, was not human.â He then turned to me and beckoned me to appear before the throne. Something told me though, that this would be a terrible idea, so I didnât move.
He walked towards me. I shook my head. âI canât!â I whispered. He pulled me. âI know, itâs like a stranger taking you away, but I need you to do this.â He pulled me from the corner. I looked at the princess in front of me now. Brown eyes, light brown skin, loose curls spilling down her face. Eyes opened with shock along with her mouth. This princess person, looked exactly like me. I felt like running away, but that would be like running away from your own shadow. I gasped unusually.
âOh my goodness.â I couldnât help but saying it. I was shocked by my own voice but the princesses was much different. I couldnât help but doing any thing else but stare at my own eyes like in a mirror. The queen frowned.
âGlytherin,â she said obviously scared. âHow dare you bring this thing from a different dimension?â I looked at the queen speak and look nothing of my own mother. But the princess, sheâs stolen my identity! She looked embarrassed of seeing the face sheâs stolen, why would she need to steal others faces?
âBecause,â Glytherin began again, âshe was dying, she was loosing her senses after breathing earthâs air for twelve years, and something about her, maybe something about her face, and the very familiar name caught me off guard. You said that that was your face!â he said with anger bolting out of every letter.
âNow you just put another of our kind in danger.â The queen stood up from her throne revealing very unsteady knees. âYou shouldâve let the girl die then.â
âI couldnât!â he yelled. âShe reminded me of Ophelia, or is that your name? Iâm not even sure I know you now. What is your name?â Ophelia stood steadily. She stood up from her thrown as well throwing herself at Glytherin. I backed up. She was hugging him and crying and yelling on the top of her lungs.
âI just wanted you to fall in love with me!â she yelled, and this reminded me of a certain someone I knew. Keely. âSome one told me you were best friends with a girl named Orphelia at the age of two. I knew she was a fairy but I wanted to be someone that was familiar to you! So I changed myself, in look for a husband. I found you, with Orpheliaâs face, you seemed to recognize me, and you believed that my name was Ophelia instead. Everything was fine. Thatâs it. I didnât want to be that ugly girl anymore! I didnât want to be her!â
The queen patted her on the back. âIâve never been friends with this guy.â I said pointing to Glytherin. âI donât know anything about him.â Glytherin turned to me.
âWe were friends until your mother sent you to a different dimension, but she shouldâve brought you back knowing you couldnât stay over ten years.â I didnât say anything about my motherâs death. I didnât even recognize this personâs face, at all.
âI donât know you,â I said apologizing.
