themselves upon Mimi’s cheeks. Her friends hated me. She seemed clueless as to how she should react. She bit her lip as she glared at those she had once called friends. They had made it clear how they felt about her, and she would never forgive them for the sudden pain they had crushed. She looked in the mirror and anger erupted. Screams arose from her lungs like sirens to warn those around to run. Her inner self had now become the same as her appearance: ugly.
With loud bursts and flying fists, she forced the traitors from her room as tears streamed down her face. When they were cleared from her life, her looks came upon me. Her out roars were louder than those of a pride of lions. She was wounded deeply and could no longer control this pain that came from deep within.
“You’re just ugly, and that’s all you’ll ever be!” she screamed in my direction. “I hate you and you’re ugliness. You don’t deserve to live.”
With a brute force she shoved my tank off the table. It crashed down and water gushed across the room like a tsunami. The glass broke into millions of tiny pieces, a puzzle that would never be recovered. I was thrust upon the floor like an egg falling from the top of the Sears Tower. My body pulsated and lost control. I could no longer breathe yet I longed for sweet breath. I longed for life. I shook as my body gave way to the persuasions of death. Through cloudy eyes I helplessly watched Mimi. Her anger was with herself and her looks, not with me. Why would she do this to me? I kept frantically trying to figure out. I thought she loved me.

But as I grew closer and closer to the dark solitudes of death, I realized that Mimi had become consumed by something more than herself. She had let a tree of evil root itself in her heart and was unable to control it. Beauty is an animal. It can be domesticated, letting itself become your closest companion, or it can become a vicious beast that attacks you in your moments of weakness. Though my death had been caused by Mimi, I realize that she had little control of her real emotions. Like myself, she had been hiding under a rock from the judgments of humanity, unaware that there will always come a day when the rock of safety is removed leaving you vulnerable to the world and its evils.
