Tom was there and heard this conversation.
“I believe, you have talent and I like this “paws off” writing on that shirt,” Tom said to me.
“I want to buy this for my wife. How much for this costume?” Tom asked.
“Five lats!” I replied.
“I will take this!” Tom said.
I didn’t pay attention to him because he was like everyone else there-interested in hand made things.
I should have paid attention.
“I just can’t give all of those photos and her scarf to that guy. I don’t have heart to do it. I have exposed many politicians that take bribes, criminals, other bad guys. All those people that I have observed just were bad and deserved to to be exposed, but Rita is just student and nice person, she doesn’t deserve for her personal life to be revealed to some weird guy named Adam,” Tom thought.
Tom wrote a note to me, gathered all pictures of me that he took and my scarf. He put all these items in box and left it on my doorstep on the next morning. That’s the morning I’ll never forget.
Today Adam called Tom again.
“Well, two weeks have passed, so what can you tell me about Rita?” Adam asked Tom.
Rita is student at Latvia’s art academy, she likes comedy. She’s learning to become a designer, likes to hang out with my friends, but doesn’t have any social network profiles.
“Why did you only sent me pictures of her hand made dresses and that costume? Didn’t you took any pictures of her?” Adam asked.
Tom said: “They were blurry because it’s hard to capture face when someone’s on the move.”
“Well, you can have her hand made costume. I will sell it to you for 10 lats. What do you say?”
“I will pay much more to than 10 lats to reward you for information and her costume,” Adam said.
“Tomorrow I will send someone to pick up her costume and you will receive your payment. Thank you for this investigation!” Adam said.
From now I’ll be more careful because I don’t know who may be watching what I’m doing at this moment.
One December evening when I came home, I saw another box on my doorstep. There was a mobile phone in that box and a note.
Note said: “This is my gift for you for Christmas. This phone is untraceable, you will need it, trust me.” Signed: “Your friend”
That was shocking.
