This is a book about the intriguing true story of Pam Evans, who has been married and divorced four times, and lived to tell the tale – with honesty, humor, and a heartfelt message for her readers. Pam first married at 18, then again in her 20s, her 30s, and her 40s. She reveals that her many treks ”down the aisle” were part of a ”long and winding road” that, each time, led eventually from the altar to the divorce court. Why has Pam decided to disclose these very personal aspects of her life? ”I was inspired to write this book for a couple of reasons. First, writing made me work on self-discovery and reflect about my past choices and often hasty decisions, my behavior and my relationship patterns. For example, I often did minimal vetting of my potential partners. Another reason for ’coming clean’ about my many marriages is that I truly want to impart realizations, insights, and, I hope, wisdom to others who are caught in the multiple marriage syndrome. Those who have never been married or married only once or are curious about multiple marriers can also learn from my experiences.” Open the pages of Ring EXchange, and join in Pam’s fascinating journey.
These nine stories are first and foremost autobiographical. They are also true. In the early 1970's my parents decided to leave England in search of a more interesting life; fueled by a lifetime of adventure stories my father was desperate to see the world, to experience adventure and to see what little remained of real cultures before the bland cookie-cutter culture of the United States finally took hold.
For the next forty years my parents remained overseas choosing to live in some of the harshest environments and I was fortunate enough to be taken along.
We were not explorers, nor were my parents interested in being 'the first' at anything; but what spurred them on, what kept them going into their retirement, was the desire to not just simply visit distant lands, but to live there, to try as best they could to experience the daily lives of the people they lived amongst.
The stories in this small book are a snap shot of some of the things we saw and experienced. They are in chronological order starting in the early 70's in the Middle East and ending in 2006 in the Pamir mountains.
This journal-styled treatise is about a spiritual awakening the author experienced in 1969 that led her to research biblical texts to determine their true nature, even learning Biblical Hebrew to aid her in the quest. Her observations and conclusions regarding both physical and mental involuntary nature events are detailed in straight-forward nonfictional prose. A few related events from her growing-up years are included in the 335-page ebook. The book also contains 127 photos and/or other supportive illustrations. Table of contents Bookmarks are included for easy navigation.
