McTeague's once trusted friend and associate, Wheelan, has broken off part of the older mobster's crime empire around the east Midlands. Far worse, Wheelan has also taken McTeague's much younger second wife, Claire, away with him.
Knowing the rest of his empire will fall away or defect to Wheelan if he fails to act, McTeague sends his trusted and lethal enforcer, Hennessy, to Sleaford to show Wheelan who is chief and to take Claire back home. So Hennessy starts a campaign of violence until Wheelan has no choice but to return Claire. But that is only the start of both gang boss's problems...
One missing persons case boggled the minds of New York officers and detectives alike. It was if the girl had simply vanished. There were no clues. No links.
One year later, recently transferred Detective Arthur Reynolds is assigned to the case. Delving deep inside a mystery that seemed to have astounded his colleagues, Reynolds must find out who killed the girl, because, as is often the case, murderers usually strike more than once. And it's only a matter of time before more blood is spilt.
Three men, David, Tony and Steve come from three different, but very average Australian upbringings. Each with a different set of values and morals learned from their childhood and teenage years. Each could be described as typical or average. The story of these three men revolves around a period of one year when their attitudes and reactions to life are tested by pain, upheaval and dislocation. When these men are stripped of their family, home, love and security, the essence of each man is uncovered.

Reina is a girl who had gone through horrible things in her short life. A lot of mistakes she had made only brought her closer to prison which is what she desired most. She believed that the only way to truly hold back the monster within her was to be locked away forever or dead. A certain situation however would teach her otherwise...

The only clue is a wittness who saw a man in a brown coat. As the police refuses to tell her more about the case, Ella starts to investigate herself. Therefore she needs the help of Lukas, a barkeeper and friend of Ella's. Together they start to follow the criminal's traces and soon they realize that they got in too deep in something much bigger than they expected - and not only their lives are in danger...
