Come to read words, from the depths of the mind.

This is a monologue I wrote about suicide and depression for my Drama assessment last year. I first tried to find a monologue on the internet to do but I didn't like any of them and they weren't long enough so I started puting bits and pieces of different monologues together and showed my teacher. She thought it was too dark for school so I changed it to be more upbeat and with hope and here it is.

Zadok, a sage, espouses his views from a spiritual perspective concerning life as lived in the Twenty-First Century. No man is an island unto himself. Or is he?

Cain Barras and Serena Woods; two teenagers who suffered undesirable childhoods are moved to neighboring group homes. With trouble constantly circling them, it’s not long before their paths collide. Upon meeting one another a bond crafted by pain, sorrow, and loss forms, making the two inseparable. The only thing that prevents this from being a happy ending, is a man who possesses a powerful hold on Serena, a hold that must be broken in order for them to move on. But like all things in life, that’s easier said than done.

A poem declaring the endless love of one who refuses to give in to the despair of reality.

Featured in the full length novel - Daeva: Black Diamond Chrysalis

A thought is a precious thing. It is yours and no one else’s. It is locked inside your head, echoing, echoing, echoing. Bouncing of the walls of your mind. You can cherish it, dismiss it, despise it. Or, you can allow your precious thought to pass through your lips...
