“And forever curse,” I added to her.
Suddenly our conversation stop when Paul entered the room.
“Hey,” I said.
“Hey,” he said and smiled to both of us. “The bloods are already in the stock room and we have a month supply of blood.”
“That is cool,” I said with a smile on my face. Being a vampire you cannot help to smile if you heard the word blood. In our world blood is equivalent to expensive jewelry.
That is not only the reason why I smiled. As far as I know I have a big crush on Paul, but it’s only a pure crush. There is no romantic going on between us, he really loves Jennycris and he is loyal to her.
Paul sit on the chair, I guess this is a long conversation on the three of us. “So are you excited on your college days young lady?” he asks.
Asabila and I decided to be enrolled on one of the college university here in Los Angeles, since we don’t have our college degree yet. For the past twenty years I just lock myself in my room blaming Ian for what I become. And for the past twenty years Paul train me how to control myself and not to kill a person, and Paul is confident now that I can get along with humans.
“Yes. Actually Marie Elisa and I have a brilliant idea,” interrupts Asabila.
Idea? Do we have an Idea? I don’t know what Asabila is talking about.
“We are going to find our destiny in there,” said Asabila.
Crap! So she is talking about our destiny. “Asabila we are not going to find our destiny in there.”
“Yes. We are, mom said a lots of vampires there enrolled.”
“She is right,” interjected Paul. “There are a lots of vampires in Holy Ground University.”
Then Asabila grabs my hand. “Paul can you excuse us? I have to kidnap your sister. Don’t you worry she will be safe in me.”
“Sure go ahead,” said Paul.
“Where are we going?” I ask.
“Shopping. And live your life. I know how much you wanted to kill Ian but can you put that aside for now? Because we should ready ourselves for tomorrow class.”
She is right, I should forget about my diabolical plans about killing Ian. How can I kill a vampire that is gazillion times stronger than me?
Chapter 2
When I came back to the Malibu-Mansion I can see Ian is standing in front of the doorway. He leans his body of the doorframe that looks like he owns the world. His caramel hair is reflected on the sunlight that it makes glow brighter than ever the original color.
I try to show him my best smile, even though I’m not in my best mode, to tell you frankly I’m not in my best mode every time I see him.
“Not happy to see me?” asks Ian.
“What do you think?” I said. And I try to push him away so that I can get inside.
The moment I push him, he holds my arm tightly. His thumb finger and his index finger reach at the middle. Try to imagine that, I know how painful it is. I feel like my own bones are breaking and bending into several pieces. I do my best to get away from him, but every time I urge myself to get away, he holds me tighter that if you are a mortal being it make you or could really faint you right away. Thanks God I’m a Vampire, I shouldn’t deal with that.
Ian blue eyes turns into red, every vampire that would get mad and thirsty for blood will transform our eyes into red, scary and unforgettable red eyes.
“Marie Elisa,” he said distinctly. I know you are going to attend your first class tomorrow as a college student.”
“So? What is your plan? To ruin my college days, because that is your expertise to ruin the individual lives,” I can feel that I’m really angry now.
“I’m not going to ruin your college days,” he said. “Anyway there is an important matter I will going to say to you, incase you didn’t know it.” Ian eyes are back into what it is. “Don’t make friends with humans in there. Remember humans are enemies and at the same time our best friends.”
Ian is right humans is our worst enemy and a best friend. They hate us, but we love them, well only their blood.
“Why?” I ask. It’s my first time to witness that Ian has been so serious to what he said.
“Because it is dangerous. There are a lot of humans now that are hunting the vampires, which we are not excluded. And that is why vampires like us hunting them back.”
“So do you mean I should take care of myself? Don’t you worry I can handle myself,” I said flatly.
Finally Ian stop twisting my arm. And for God sake he leaves a red painful mark on my arm. “And let me correct you, I would not ruin your college days, actually I will male your college days unforgettable,” he said before he disappear like a wind.
That was crucial, having a serious conversation with Ian is weird. I mean I never seen him like that before, and it seems he cares on me for the first time.
The weirdness is gone when I need some blood in my system.
I went to the stock room where the bloods are placed. This is awesome; I can smell the blood of the polar bear and my favorite the blood of the lion. Asabila once said to me that humans blood are more delicious than animals, but I never taste the humans blood before so I cannot tell you the difference for now. Paul never allowed me to taste the humans’ blood; he doesn’t want me to be addicted on it.
Even though Asabila drinks the humans’ blood but never in her vampire life kill a person. The Taylor family will just order a blood from the blood bank.
As what I said Taylor family doesn’t kill a person to drink a blood. Vampires like us, well, civilize vampires will just take a blood from a blood bank, to hide our true identity. But for Ian, he go on both ways, he is not scared to drink a blood from a direct human.
“What happen to your arm?” asks Asabila.
“That stupid Ian Lockwood did it,” I said.
The mark still there, not even make-up can cover it.
“Why?”
“Because he is a brutal vampire, didn’t you know that?” And I put the headphones to my ears to stop the conversation.
Asabila just continue driving as we went to the Holy Ground University. I wish I would meet a vampire that is stronger than Ian and will help me to kill Ian.
Asabila and I takes separates way, her class is in the other building and mine is in the main building. I am amaze when I get inside to the building because when you try to look outside the walls is cover all in bricks so it came to my mind that the building is pretty old. But when I get inside everything is opposite from the outside. Everything in the inside is so modern and bright.
As I headed to my first class, which is world history, the students are staring at me from head to toe. I think they are curious why I’m so pale. I remember what Jennycris said to me, that I should go to tanning salon to tan my skin; I should really take her advice next time.
When I’m already inside the classroom there are only four students sitting on their chairs. So I choose the beautiful position for me to sit, I choose right beside the window. I really love exposing myself into the sun.
“Fifteen minutes before the class started, maybe that will explain some students are not yet here,” I said to myself.
Let me take you back from the past. Eight years ago, I’m struggling to control my hunger and thirst for blood. And it’s been ten years that Paul and Ian lock me in the house so that I can stay away from the humans; it was the most painful thing that I’ve been through in my life.
I can still remember how I escape the house just to see my family but Ian and Paul are faster than me before I get able to see my family. They already captured me and lock me again in the house. They are afraid that I will kill my family, while I’m so desperate to see them.
And suddenly the door opens, and I realize that I’m back in present time again. Our professor gets inside. I try to look around the room is already filled with students.
“Class keep quite,” said the bald headed man. “I’m your world history teacher. My name is Raymond Smith,” he said.
When I’m trying to stare at him I can see that he has a terrible past, he was always bully when he was in High school. But his future is not that bad a few years from now he will be the next director in the University.
When I was turn into a vampire there is a little tragic change in me, I can able to see the past and the future of the people, not all the vampires has their own abilities. As far as I know only Ian, Paul and me have a power. Ian power is to read the minds. But he cannot read my thoughts; he always said that I have a mental illness that is why he cannot read my thoughts. Paul has the healing ability, which is so cool.
“I guess there is no need for me to orient you guys, since you are already third year students,” said Mr. Smith while he is reading his list of students. “Wait a minute there is a freshman here and her name is Marie Elisa Lockwood.”
Shit! That’s me.
I change my surname from Hart to Lockwood since the Lockwood bothers claiming that I’m their sister.
“So, who is Marie Elisa Lockwood?” asks Mr. Smith.
“Guilty,” I said.
Everyone stares at me.
“So, how are you related with Ian Lockwood, you know the actor,” ask the other students who looks like a punk loser.
“We are not related,” I answered immediately. It is true were not related, and I will never in my life consider him as my brother.
Mr. Smith clears his throat. “Marie Elisa, why are you taking up third year class?”
“Just address me as Elisa,” I corrected him. “Well, I take this subject because I love history, simple as that.”
“But you are just a freshman. Are you sure you can get along with the third year students?”
“I’m pretty sure and confident that I can cope up with the lesson.”
“You must be brave,” said Mr. Smith to me.
Five minutes pass someone get inside the room. He is so tall and handsome, he has a broad shoulder, he is the most handsome human creature that I ever seen.
“Mr. Richardson you are late, and please find your sit,” said Mr. Smith.
He sits beside me and he smiled. “Hi, my name is Aaron Scot Richardson.”
“I’m Marie Elisa Lockwood.”
Aside from his good looks I’m worried; for the reason I cannot able to see his past neither his future. There is something mysterious on this guy.
Chapter 3
I wonder where is Asabila now, it’s already passed five in the afternoon, and she said to me that we would meet at the old building exactly five. Most of the students here in Holy Ground University came from another state, so most
