I closed my eyes and tried to imagine the spirits, their lifeless bodies floating just above the ground, their presence, how cold and other-worldly it felt. I slowly felt my body lifting and I became lightheaded. My eyes clouded over and out of my mouth came something cold and bitter. A wind chilled me to the bone. My hair was swept in my face and I was swirled around. A tingling shot through me. I heard Ted gasp behind me. Then it waas over. My eyes started to clear and I felt woozy. Before me stood the man-spirit I had seen last night. "You called." he whispered eerily. "Um...I wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy last night. This is my friend Ted. Did I just call you?" I asked quietly. "Yes." replied the ghost. Ted stood behind me with a look of horror on his face. The spirit floated over to Ted and passed through him. I saw Ted shiver and his body contort as he started shaking. My eyes grew wide as he floated up and up. Finally, the spirit wisked out and he fell to the ground with a thud. "What did you do?!" I yelled as I ran over to where he lay and tried to see if he was alright. "I was evaluating him. That is all." The ghost replied smiling that scary smile. "You will see me againnnn........." The spirits voice drifted off as he floated forwards me with the wind and back into my mouth. I stood there, gasping. "Are you alright?" I asked Ted as he started to get up. "Yeah I think so. I'm sore all over." He said, "Was that real?" "I guess so because that was the same guy or thing I saw last night." I said rushing to help him up the rest of the way. "Oh my gosh Trisha! That was amazing! How did you do that?!" he asked exitedly. " I don't know. I thought of the ghosts I saw and POOF there he was." I replied. " That was the freakiest thing I have ever seen! I wish I had never asked!" Ted said. He came over and we held each other for a moment, just like the time when my cat died. I had walked all the way to his house, crying. He had made pizza and we hugged and watched funny movies the whole night. How good it felt to be in his arms. I felt safe even though the danger was inside of me. Finally he let go of me, blushing. "Well I'm not sore anymore, surprisingly." He ran his hand along the fence catching splinters. He looked down at his hands. "I don't feel anything!" he looked up at me. "Your hands are like mine now. Probably cold, too. At least you haven't lost feeling in your whole body." I sighed. How I missed the feeling of the wind and of warm coco sliding down my throat and of leaves. I felt nothing and I hated it. He looked at my hands. Then, the bell rang and we walked in. His hand had slid in mine but of course, I didn't feel it.
