Time passes slowly for me, here in this classroom. I look around and see the smiling and laughing faces of my classmates and I feel my insides warm a little, though I am excluded from them. They never turn to me to ask a question, or to tell a joke or even to just send their exultant smiles in my direction; to them, I don’t exist anymore....

An english assignment... I like how it turned out so I decided to post it here.

April Fernandez is not your typical freshman. She is the daughter of an owner of a multi-million dollar
company and is pressured constantly to be perfect;her mother wants her to to keep up her appearences and
daddy needs a successor to his precious company. Combined with the fact that she has a rebel of a twin
brother who is rarely ever home, the absence of her parents leaves her feeling lonely and neglected. It isn't
until a rainy day when she forgets her umbrella that things change for her. A handsome stranger comes into her
life, disrupting everything she has ever worked for. She throws all caution to the wind and lives her life like
there is no tomorrow. All the while everyone notices the change in April and her parents are less than satisfied.
When they begin to plan to send her abroad for the rest of her high school career, April decides she has had
enough and takes the only choice left to her- emancipation. Can April take all that she's learned about herself
and put it to practice in order to convince a judge she's better off on her own or will she forever be trapped in
the web that her parents have so cautiously weaved?
