It’s bad enough to live her teenage years under her borderline abusive father, but nothing can compare to the truth about what really happened to her mother.
No one knows of the horrors going on behind her front door when it is closed, when the blinds are down, and children are supposed to be tucked away safely in their beds. So when things go terribly wrong between her and her father one night, Jane tries to escape reality by fleeing to the city with her sister Suzann. She quickly learns though reality isn’t something you can run away from. It will seek you out no matter how hard you try hide.

She searches through the city in hopes to find the one person she’s never given up on—Blaze. Jane and Blaze have secrets of their past they both need to sort through before they can ever dream of having a better future. She comes face to face with a hard decision to come clean with the truth or keep what’s hidden buried in heart where it has always been.
While in the city, Jane and Suzann seek shelter at a man, James, shop where she and her sister work without pay in his wax shop in trade of a place to stay. During her stay, Ray is the one person who tries to help Jane find the one person she loves, and stays by her side even when things continue to get worse.

Unexpected events take place in Jane’s life shortly after arriving in the city, and mistakes happen changing her life for the worse. She develops a strong fear towards the world, loses things she can never replace, and something which seemed to help her cope at first turns into a strange obsession.
Jane questions why she was even created to exist, and is unsure of how her life will turn out if she doesn’t start making wise decisions.
Jane has learned two very important lessons while living in the city: scars are nothing compared to the pain that put them there, and if she doesn’t learn to face her fears soon, she may wind up facing the very things she fears and hates most—death.

As Jane discovers, it takes forever to change your life around, but only seconds to tear down anything good you might have had. Now she must pay, the price-her life; the cause- her heart.
Unless by some miracle her fate changes, this girl’s very existence will become nothing more then mere dust, and if that happens then no one will ever get the chance to hear what might just change everything.
