Everywhere was silent and calm. Birds chripping on branches.Jina was walking forward. Though huge trees covered the sky with their branches, it failed to completely blocked the sun rays. When sun beams comes through branches it glittered. With slight misty air sun rays seems as white yelowish beams. It was so beautiful!. Jina took a deep breath. She kept walking ahead, slowly. Fallen dried leaves was a carpet to her feet. With the slow wind Jinas hair coggled across her face. She closed her eyes to feel the wind. But in next few seconds she heard a sound. It was not much far away. It was a sudden shake of a nearby bush. Jina opened her eyes. With a grinned mouth, there was a wolf staring at her. Her eyes gone wide with fear. Though she tried to scream, but the sound not came out. Jina heard deep growl of the wolf. It was sure in next few seconds the wolf will jump on her. She tried to turn back and run. But the effort was useless. She was unable to move. Fear made her stunned. In next second the wolf started to run forward. In that same second, some other thing too started to happen. With a speed of an eye blink, someone moved through a bush and blocked the way of the wolf. Even in that speed movement, Jina identified that figure. Then there came a sound of another growl. It was not the wolf!
The Mcleod clan's Princess, Si'leas has been taken hostage by their long hated enemies the MacAlisters.
The enemy are racking her for information leading to the clan's stockhold, where they keep their money for the food they get in return for buying their treatied friends the MacAdies armor for the war they face now.
If Si'leas gives in to the torture, her people will starve. And her kingdom ruined.
Meanwhile back at a farm in The Isle of the Skye, A sheep herder's daughter, named Mai'ri, is left alone after her father dies in the war and her mother taken as a war widow, to help with the injured.
What will she do now with just her and her horse Blai'r? Will she be swallowed up in the face of war looking for her mother, or will she find an even greater cause to leave her lonely home and go out into the midst of a war?
