Who?

Desires? Wants? Needs? We all have them. But no one, no, not a person, wanted anything, needed anything more than Emily.
But just who is Emily? Is she just another person, living in the small town of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee? No, Emily was special.
She was a senior in high school, often mistaken for a freshman. She cowered away from others often and was slightly anti-social. Not that anyone noticed, half of everyone didn't even know she existed.

I sat on my bed, my legs crossed and bent over a book. A homework assignment; nothing special. Nothing important. I set the book down in front of me and sighed. Too much work, my brain would fry.
I jumped slightly when I felt something vibrate in my pocket. I pulled out my phone, nothing more exciting than a simple flip phone. On the small screen on the front, it read "1 message from Kayla." I sighed again, and flipped open the phone quickly.
You should come hang out :)

it read. I closed my phone without replying and layed back.
Not that I felt like her shit today anyways. I was tired of her. I didn't want to hear her complaining in my ear every five seconds about her brother or her mom or something. It was annoying.
Mom was at work. My brother was at a friends. I was just home alone, I could do so much.
And I was going to.
I stood quickly, walking slowly toward the living room. I noted to myself every creak and moan the floor made, avoiding the dips in the floor. Our house was falling apart, but it was deffinately affordable. I stood in the doorway between the kitchen and the living room, just staring at the front door. I was debating.
But something inside me was screaming for me to leave. Leave

it shouted just get out of here. It's no fun here, anyways.

I gulped and took a couple steps toward the door.
"There you go"

the voice said. I took a couple more steps before I reached the door. "Good job. Now put your hand on the knob and get out of here."

I reached my hand out toward the knob, noticing how I shook slightly.
But I pulled my hand away. I pulled it quickly away from the knob, didn't even touch it. It felt strange.
I quickly threw my back against the wall. It was something I always did when I was scared, hide my back against something, even if I am just wearing a jacket.
I hesitated for a moment. "Is anyone there?" My voice sounded stranger than usual. It was a different person, someone I didn't know.
"Yes." I said. I paused for a moment. Was I talking to myself? I felt numb, like I wasn't there. Like I was somewhere else, somewhere I didn't know.
"Please leave." I said forcefully, looking behind me.
Once again, I spoke up. "I won't."
I pursed my lips. This time, I wouldn't say anything. "Please." I whispered. As soon as I said that, I closed my lips as fast as I could. As much as my mouth tried to open, I held it shut.
But without even moving, my hands lifted up to my face, pinching my cheek with my nails. I yelled out when I felt a warm liquid fall.
"No." I said. I couldn't force my mouth shut anymore. "I won't leave."
