Meet Stephen Colchester. He's an excellent writer. Now, this is how it all started. Worldwide News, a huge
newspaper, approached Stephen. They gave him a massive offer of 2.5 million pounds to write for their company. Doesn't this sound too good to be true? Well it was. Marcus Mulvita, an Internet vlogger with millions of subscribers, had a loyal fan base. He hates Worldwide News, and if Stephen took the offer, he would be very unpopular indeed.
Then, shortly after, he got another offer. News4U, a smaller paper, offered him £10,000. This was a much more popular offer but Stephen wanted to take a gamble. He took the offer at Worldwide News.
Chapter 2- "Everything's Running Smoothly."Everything was going great. Stephen was making millions. Every week he made a great section about cars. He got pay rise after pay rise- he was bringing more and more readers in. Stephen had a party, and invited his best friends.
"Do you think your job is going well?" Shouted Colin over the loud, thumping music.
"Oh, Everything's running smoothly- I've got loads of money, I'm famous, what more could I want?" Stephen replied. Did he really only care about fame and cash now?
Chapter 3- Lies
It was a nice Saturday morning. His column was in on time so now he could just relax. Then, his phone pinged. What's that? He thought. It was a YouTube video by Marcus Mulvita. "Oh no!" The video was a massive hate video that was putting out completely false information about him. Stephen knew only one thing- take him to court. He found out that it was an offence when he was younger, it was quite interesting to him as then he wanted to be a newspaper writer. Then he got some texts and calls from his friends telling him about the video. "Already on it" he assured them calmly.
Chapter 4- JusticeIt was horrible for him. The day before the trial. Marcus' fans throwing things at Stephen's house and battering his car. He couldn't leave his house without being pelted. He had to get to sleep- it was a big day tomorrow. It was the day of the trial. Stephen had to run to get past the people blocking the entrance. Luckily, Worldwide News had a great lawyer on hand to defend him, but so did Marcus. The trial went on for a few hours. The judge told everyone to go home and not to discuss it with anyone. We were to be informed when he'd made his decision.
Chapter 5- The VerdictIt was 3 days later. Stephen's phone rang. It was the judge, telling him to come down to the court. It turns out Marcus' lawyers had nothing to say when they showed proof that Marcus was lying- Stephen won the trial. Now Marcus' fans felt they had been betrayed. He had lied to them. Marcus became quite unpopular. The people that were horrible to Stephen now felt quite sorry for him- making him liked again.
Chapter 6- Use Experience For Good Things.Stephen became famous for carrying on even when people were really horrible. He started a charity called Help Against Media Hate-which did as it said-it helps people get through media hate. This was highly recognised around the world. They were helping hundreds of people a month. The Queen thus gave him a knighthood! Stephen was over the moon. Colin was extremely happy that he didn't just care about money and fame- he cared about others too.
