Chapter one

I kicked the truck into for wheel drive, smiling as it rumbled and stumbled through the forest as I listened to the small bounces in the back of my old Chevy. I shifted gears again, then again, making sure nothing was to strained from the old rusty parts. I tumbled through the forest, bouncing in the drivers seat until I switched gears again as I was on the road, climbing the hill towards my large town where my father was waiting to skin my nine point buck and my mother to ground me for running off after Church. It was Sunday, about eight at night but it was still light out a little as I switched the headlights on.

I pulled over at my medium sized house and I saw my brother clap his hands together along with his friend Jonah. I hopped out of the truck and smiled, stripping off my camo jacket and tossing it at them as I climbed into the back of the truck from the side, swinging a leg over that was covered in my black CC Commmunit Center sweatpants from Basketball.

"Nice Hays," My dad said, appearing from the garage where he had set up the hanger for me to put the deer.

"I know, I didn't even get to the treestand yet and poof, nine point staring me in the face, begging to take the shot, he's got a mangled back leg anyway, coyote probably got 'im," I said, lifting the back end of the dear while my brother grabbed the front and we began hauling the big guy out of the truck. I stepped over the tailgate and landed on my feet, knees slightly bent and I straightened, continued with him until we laid the deer on a table. I had feild dressed it already so we hung it and that was when I stabbed myself with a knife.

"Shit shit shit shit crap," I yelled, clutching my poor pinky finger as blood gushed from it at a incredible rate.

"Here Hays," Jonah said and wrapped a clean rag around my finger, "God, you cut off a entire hunk," and I looked down at the skin missing and thought of it coming from my body. And I decided to take a nap.

I felt a warm hand rubbing my arm and I blinked after opening my eyes to a blinding bright light.

'Crap, my finger got me killed' Was my first thought before objects blinked into view and I saw I was in a Hospital for the first time since my birth.
