"Yeah, alright, I'll come up later tonight to check in on her," Raph replied.
"How's Angeleeka doing?" Michael then asked.
"Oh, she'll be fine. She's stayed here alone before alright," Raph said.
"Yeah well, with Gabriel still in the hospital I do not think it wise to leave her there alone," Michael said.
"Well, alright. Should I bring her too with me? I guess I could try to find a baby sitter. I know, I'll call Grant Castiel, Amistis' husband. Does he know she's been admitted? He's not supposed to be on call tonight at the hospital, he could watch the kid," Raphael said remembering that Amistis had recently married, but did she know who Grant Castiel really was? That he too was an Angel of the Lord. He bet she did not. Then Raph figured Grant might not be available because of an assignment he might be on.
Castiel and Amistis had met on Vegros at the big Sea Side Hotel. They hit it off and he married her to keep her safe from Zartharyos and because he was a M.D Doctor like them.
He would, being married to her, stay with her, especially while she slept, in case she had an episode with the AMS. He would be right there to revive her if needed.
It was more a marriage of convenience but Raph knew the two were attached, Grant being in the same vulnerable state as he, Michael, and Gabriel were.
He had fallen in love with her. Hey, it could happen, him having that temporary shell so to speak.
He was another Angelic comrade on assignment here, so recently he and Amistis had relocated to Amblen Falls where she grew up actually.
Raphael felt bad. Grant would want to be with his wife tonight, not watching some kid!
But Raph called him anyway. He needed to be told. Grant understood the situation all too well with Amistis. He was more than happy to help with Angeleeka. If it came to that. He told Raphael he was on a smaller assignment but he could get away for the night to help out.
"Yeah. But only if Amistis gets real bad," Michael said. He then hung up.
It got too hard for Amistis to breathe in the night. The inflammation to her lungs was bad. Michael had to induce paralysis and intubate her. He had her transferred to ICU. He squeezed on the ambu bag as they wheeled her to an Intensive Care Unit. He then hooked up a vent.
He called Raphael. "I'll be right there," he said. He called Grant next and told him he needed a favor. Grant came right over.
"Honey, this is Castiel, a real good friend of mine, actually he is Amistis' husband," Raphael said.
"Hi Angeleeeka," Grant said trailing it off too long. She laughed. "It's just Angeleeka," she said and giggled more.
Cory and Suzy were peeping in through a window. They hoped everything was alright. They noticed another winged being was there.
Suzy knew she was in trouble and had struck that kind Being in the leg, that had caused the one called Amistis, to be able to understand them like Angeleeka could.
Grant just looked at the two snakes now.
"We are friends of Angeleeka," Cory told him. He squinted and squinted. Had he heard right?
Angeleeka then told him the whole story and let the snakes in the house.
"I don't know, Angel, if you should do that or not," he protested. The snakes seemed harmless.
"Listen, can we de-fang them, so if they get scared and strike, no venom comes out?" she asked the Angel.
Cory and Suzy just looked at one another. "If that is possible, please do so," Cory said.
"I really do not know," Grant replied. "I do not think their means of protection should be taken away," Grant said further.
But they had a nice evening. Angeleeka taught the snakes how to play a game called Monopoly...
Raphael took Amistis' hand. He hated seeing her on the vent. She was burning up with a fever. It was a close call all night but Michael knew herbs to give to her to help the inflammation.
Michael got Amistis through the worst of it. Raph called the house to inform Grant that he believed Amistis was over the worst.
Gabriel came into her hospital room. "How's she doing? Raphael told me she was in here," he said. Amistis was still on the vent.
"She's doing better," Michael said. Gabriel then looked Michael over. "You look tired. How about taking a break and coming to get some breakfast with me," he said.
"I'd like to wait till I get her off the vent first," Michael said. Gabriel knew how stubborn he could be.
"Michael, you need to take a break," he said.
"Later," Michael spoke. So Gabriel gave up and went back to his room. He got released later that morning.
When he came back to check on Amistis and to see if Michael was still there, Amistis was off the vent and awake.
"Hey sweet heart, how you feeling?" Gabriel asked touching her head. She smiled. "Better. Weak, but the pain is gone," she said.
"Come on, you can take me home and get some sleep yourself," Gabriel now said to Michael.
"Not till Raphael gets here," Michael said. Gabriel was trying not to get mad.
But Raphael soon came a whistling from down the hall. He soon came into the room and so Michael and Gabriel could go to the house.
On the way there Michael said, "Amistis is very ill. I do not think that she has much longer."
Gabriel looked concerned. He had to agree. "Well, that is entirely up to the Lord," he said.
"I just hope Angel won't have it as tough as that poor woman has," Gabriel said further breaking the silence.
"Amistis has been through more and has a greater severity of this disease. Maybe we'll get lucky and Angeleeka will be alright," Michael replied.
CHAPTER 6
There were these two crooks by the name of Eflack and Noland, or Nold as he was often called.
They were actual cousins to Peegee and Leegee, who were brothers. Dead now, and they also were related to Shescabob and Harley. They heard about the demise of Peegee and Leegee, Shescabob and Harley, on the account of this woman, AAyaelees, Amistis Star.
"That woman is as good as dead," Eflack said as they drove and drove to arrive at Amblen Falls.
Amistis got word that some alien friends of hers were coming for a visit to Arca. Ahha and Petra. They were brothers. They lived on a planet called Quorlec 7.
She happily told Angeleeka about them and that they were bringing their pet reindeer, Staggisus and that he could talk.
"Like Cory and Suzy?" Angel replied. Amistis still hadn't believed that one. That two cobra snakes had actually talked to her, or Angeleeka to them either.
"Come outside and I will show you," Angeleeka now said and took her hand. Grant smiled. He sipped his hot cocoa. "It's all true honey. I heard them myself. God did this. I'm not sure why, but it came from Him," he told her. He had to get to work. He put down the cup and hurried out the door. But not before Amistis wrapped her arms around him in a bear hug. She squeezed too hard.
"Space, Amistis," he said. She knew he meant she needed to give him some. He could be so funny at times but she knew he loved her. She planted a wet one next onto his lips, in which he protested about that too. It was much too slobbery and he didn't like that either and he told her about it.
Just so you know, there is no sex between Angels and humans. Grant, well, it wasn't that he couldn't. Especially in this temp of a shell; but it would be poison to her with her disease and all. And anyway, it was a marriage of companionship ONLY.
Amistis knew or suspected at least, that he was in fact, an Angel of the Lord. She saw his wings. He told her that he was from a different dimension where his people had wings in order to get around and for fighting techniques. And he also told her that their marriage had to be sex-free because of her disease, that his little fellers would be poisonous to her and she seemed to accept that just fine.
Besides, she was a very Godly woman and had handed her entire life over to the Lord when she had been but a child. The sex, she could of cared less about.
You could have a loveless marriage where the sex was wild, but the love factor was what made marriages work in the first place. Love was the glue that made the whole thing stick. No love, no stronghold, and the marriage would all come crashing apart. She knew she had what only others could dare dream about.
"Cory, Suzy, it's okay. You can come out," Angel then called breaking Amistis' thoughts on her angelic husband. Four snake eyes then peered from behind a bush.
Just then Moiya came over, so the snakes high tailed it back into the bush. She needed a place to stay. She had got evicted because her last roommate upped and left without one word and no way on her nurses salary, could she afford that place by herself.
So, Amistis told her she had a room left in the basement Moiya was more than welcome to rent.
Michael came outside next. He was wearing his white cowboy hat. He had on a white T-shirt and blue jeans. Man, but he sure looked gorgeous!
Moiya was afraid she was falling in love with him. He didn't seem to be involved with anyone. He was a real strong Christian. So was she. Amistis had led her to the Lord.
Gabriel and Raphael too, for that matter, were Christians. They were not bad looking either but Michael was just in every since of the word, beautiful.
"Angel, what did we say about them snakes being so close to the house," he spoke firm.
"We mean yyou no hharm," Cory then called out. Amistis put her hand up to her mouth in shock, as well as Moiya. Cory then slithered out a ways. Then Suzy came out. "SSorry I bit that winged one," she said.
Amistis wondered what had the snake meant by that? Or had she just misinterpreted the words?
Gabriel stepped outside. "It's alright, Amistis," he said after she looked at him worried.
"I know they got scared and didn't mean to strike me. Come here little one," Gabriel now spoke reaching out his hand to Suzy. She hesitated, then came right up to him. It was the darnest thing Amistis ever saw!
Gabriel stroked Suzy on the back. "I-I ggot ssscared. I-I tthought ssshe waass going tto hhurt mmmme," she said.
"No, no one will ever hurt you here. Be not afraid," Gabriel said. Amistis could of sworn then that the snake looked like she was smiling. She liked being stroked by Gabriel.
Michael pointed his two fingers at the snake and she followed his every move. Angeleeka, Moiya, and even Amistis laughed.
The snakes made friends that day with Amistis, Moiya, and Gabriel. They already knew who Michael, Grant, and Raphael
