anywhere near it... well, Grant had married Amistis, but it was very necessary on the account of the rarity of her disease, and that she had nobody to watch over her when such critical moments made a difference between life and death.

It was in fact, circumstances beyond her control so Grant had volunteered. He did it out of love and love was the greatest of things, but normally an Angel would not marry a Human. They were happy just being sisters and brothers. Humanity could learn a thing or two from them, let me tell you. If he had been a human he would of pursued that sweet thing in a heartbeat.

Moiya loved Michael. She could not stop thinking about him.

Tests showed that Michael had a valve that needed replaced. It got damaged from the bad reaction he got when he was inoculated. Sometimes it happened.

Gabriel himself had some flare ups on occasion where he had fever and joint pain. Michael told Amistis it was probably Rheumatic Fever syndrome.

Not the real Rheumatic Fever, but something very similar that his kind could get when being inoculated.

He said Gabe had another set of shots to go through in a few months and that it could make the syndrome worse, but it had to be done despite the risks. That's all he said. He was not going to spill the beans and tell her they were Angels. That was not allowed.

So surgery was scheduled. But Michael chickened out and checked out of the hospital. Gabriel was fit to be tied.

"I'll have it done in a month or so. I feel fine. Maybe it will clear up on its own, I being an Angel, I can regenerate better than a human," he told him back at the house.

The Spirit told Gabriel what he had to do. They had to help Michael and he had to have the surgery. So when Michael went to bed that night, Gabriel told Amistis, Moiya, and Angeleeka what he had to do. It was for his own good.

He took ether and placed it over Michael's nose and mouth as he slept and it knocked him unconscious. He then picked up his comrade and carried him to his car.

Gabriel had sent a toe truck to get Michael's truck and Akos' van. They had arrived just today. With new tires on them.

Michael was placed in the backseat of Gabriel's car. Amistis and Moiya climbed in the back too to sit next to him. Angeleeka sat up front as Gabriel drove to the hospital. "Akos, Grant, and Raphael are ready for him. I called them," he explained.

Soon Michael was prepared for the surgery. Macnies would be the main surgeon. Gabriel and Grant would go to observe. Amistis wanted to come into the room too but Macnies said no. She huffed off.

She went up to the observatory.

"Forgive me Michael, this needed to get done and in your weakened state it just was too much for you to decide," Gabriel told his unconscious conrad.

Michael was now on the life support needed for the surgery and the surgeon then began the procedure.

All went well and there was no complications. Michael's heart started right back up as soon as he was taken off bypass. The spiral tubing that went to the operating room ventilator was unhooked from the air way down Michael's throat and re-hooked to an ambu bag. Raphael squeezed on it as he was taken to ICU.

Michael remained zonked clear through the night not aware what had happened. Gabriel felt a little bit guilty but the Spirit had OK-ed for him to take over.

Michael became vaguely aware that he had some kind of surgery. "Hi," Amistis said. He stretched and tried to wake up. He was off the vent and in a normal hospital room now. The only discomfort he noticed was real bad heartburn.

"Oh no! I remembered a weird dream I had!" he outburst, and then tried to sit up. He saw he was in the hospital. Gabriel came in and smiled at him.

"Big guy, you didn't!" Michael barked.

"Mikie, it was necessary. Gabriel had to make a tough call so he did," Amistis tried to explain. Michael pulled his hand away from her. "What did you do Gabriel? Knock me out with ether?" Michael blared now. Amistis didn't blame him.

"I'm sorry Michael. But your fine now. The surgery is over and a complete success," Gabriel told him.

Michael was fit to be tied. He didn't speak to anybody from that day on. Not any of them. He especially was cold toward Gabriel. The nerve!

"Go home Amistis," Michael told her bluntly that next day when she came to try to cheer him up. Her lips quivered as she left.

Gabriel came to pick Michael up and bring him back to the house. He said not a one word. Gabriel didn't blame him.

The only persons Michael talked to back at the house were Ahha, Petra, Staggisus, Cory, and Suzy.

He did not say one word to Angeleeka, Moiya, Amistis, Grant, Raphael, or Gabriel because they all helped in the plot, as he saw it.

Amistis wasn't feeling good. She went and sobbed on her bed. Grant squinted at him and tightened his lips. "Michael, your being a real B, you know that! Amistis had no say so in it, anymore than Moiya, Angeleeka, or even I did for that matter. Yeah, the girls came for moral support, that was all," he told him flat. He sighed. "Amistis was there too after the surgery," Grant said.

"Ok, I'll go have a talk with her, then the rest of the girls, but yoUR not off the hook, Bucko!" Michael barked.

“Fine!” Grant yelled right back at him.

But when he and Grant went upstairs they couldn't get Amistis to wake up. "Gabriel, call for an ambulance!" his voice then harped down the stairs.

Amistis was very ill. Michael wasn't sure she'd make it though the night. Grant sat, took her hand and just sobbed.

He, Michael, and Gabriel stayed with her. Michael took her other hand. "Please Father, don't take this sweet child, not yet," he said about to tears. Gabriel patted his back. "I know. I love her too," he said.

Amistis had arrested but they were able to restart her heart. "The herb just is not working this time," Michael told Grant. Michael then went to do more research on her terrible disease. He sure hoped Angeleeka wasn't in for such a tough ride having been diagnosed with the same thing.

Michael did his homework. He researched for days. Amistis was in a coma.

"Son, give her this," High'Aba'Ja said approaching His Angel. They embraced.

"It's not her time yet, but soon Michael, I will be calling her," He told him. The Father was in special Angelic Form. He then went to have a word with Grant. He basically told him the same thing he had Michael. "Soon Grant, she will be home and no longer in pain."

Grant knew his time was soon to come where he'd be reassigned. He wanted to go home too, to be with Amistis. It had been such a long time since he'd been home. But the Father told him that He had other assignments for him still. Soon they'd be together in Heaven, forever.

When Michael put Amistis on the IV, she began to get better. A lot better. It was not a cure. Michael knew that one day she would die from this disease. Maybe even within the next year. He hoped she had many years ahead of her.

Amistis was still on pain medication but she was off the vent. She was still in intensive care.

"I love you Michael. I want to marry you," Moiya came right out and said getting it out in the open. She just couldn't stand it any longer.

He took her hand. "Honey, you know I love you too. If I were a human, I would of," he said. She glared at him. What had he meant by that? Michael knew he had made a slip of the tongue and it was too late to fix now. So he had to compromise.

"What do you mean, are you not human?" Moiya barked. She was trying not to let it hurt her heart what he said. It was very plainly a rejection.

The Spirit gave him the words to say next. "I am not a human. I am a Jeni. We do not marry unless it is preordained while we are still but children." he told her kindly. She had heard of his kind. Came from a planet called Zies. Still, it did not lesson her pain.

CHAPTER 9

Eflack and Noland took the wrong girl. They had directions to Ruty's house but they took Angeleeka by mistake.

"Have you seen Angeleeka?" Raphael asked when Michael and Gabriel got home from work that night. They looked all over for her but they could not find her. Gabriel feared she might have been taken by the Dark Empire.

He and Michael went to pay Amistis a visit at the hospital. To tell her that Angeleeka was missing. She too knew about what the Dark Empire was capable of. "I can contact my father, Zartharyos, and have him keep watch and try to find her," she said.

"Oh no, I don't want you to do that!" Grant blared. Amistis took his hand. "Honey, he could help. I won't be in any danger. We have an understanding now... Grant, you know that," she told him. He still was dead set against it.

"I agree with Grant honey, but, if it is the only way to find her. Gabriel and I will aide you in whatever you'll need. Definitely be backup," Michael said.

So Amistis put out the word that she needed to speak to her father.

Zarthar would arrive on Hiracia's Moon. He took a shuttle from his humongous Olympia Star Station.

He stopped in his tracks when his eyes caught sight of one of those winged beings! Michael was flexing his wings. Amistis was not in sight and he needed to stretch them a bit from being hidden.

But Zarthar saw. Zarthar had had dealings in the past with winged beings. He suspected Amistis' own husband was one of them. He was strong in Life Source, as scrawny looking as he was.

Michael sensed danger and immediately the wings disappeared. Zarthar fired his lazer pistol. He barely missed Michael. Michael flung away from him.

Amistis too now came outside from the shuttle she, Michael, Grant, Gabriel, and Raphael had come here in; and she saw Zarthar trying to fire upon Michael! That steamed her blood!

"ZarthAR!" she hollered. He turned his head hearing her voice. He was encased inside his armored prison. He could remove his helmet but he had to live inside the suit.

He was on artificial breathing. He had a robotic arm and leg. Most of his brain on the left side was replaced with robotics. His face bone replaced by silicone. Ghastly black knight of death is what Michael thought.

"It's a trap! Amistis, get back inside the shuttle!" Raphael yelled. Zarthar fired and hit Michael knocking him out. He then fired on Raphael next.

"No!" Amistis roared. Gabriel fired upon Zarthar now with his own laser weapon. Zarthar had his men take Raphael and
