Prologue
Life has never been easy, but I learn to face through the challenges of life with a big smile, even if I am having one of the worst lives in Wisconsin ever. My mother always told me if I keep my head high then I will be successful, but if I keep it down I will trip in embarrassment. Life hasn’t been treating me very well. Let’s start from the beginning.
Chapter One:
Four against One
As I have told you before, life hasn’t been treating me well. My dad has recently gotten married to another girl, Tanya. She was nice at first, until he put a ring on her finger. She was always coming over with hugs and smiles. I thought she was going to be a great step mother, but I guess I was wrong again. At my father’s house, it’s always just been him and me, Joshua and Jessica. Now, I have a step mother and three step brothers. Tanya has three kids named Zeth, Jackson and Ethan. Ethan was always the annoying one. Sticking his tong out, taking my belongings, telling lies about me to Tanya and pulling lots of pranks. Once, he told me dad was waiting for me at the Dollar Store across the street, so of course I walked over there. I searched all over the store for him, and didn’t find him. I was crying in the corner of the store by now. Next thing I knew, Ethan was video tapping me. What a jerk! When Dad actually came home that night from work, he went straight to the couch for a nap. It was only five o’clock, so I went to go give him a hug, but Tanya stopped me before I could. Again, she was already one step ahead of me. She stopped me and yelled at me for trying to give my own father a hug. I knew she was my new step mother, but seriously, this isn’t a Cinderella story. So stop acting like an evil bitch. She took me down stairs before I could say anything back. The down stairs was already creepy enough without her face in it. She took out a belt from the closest closet. It wasn’t a thick, fancy one like people use now a days, it was just a leather, skinny belt. I thought she was going to just belt me up to a pole or something. I was too young to know what parents actually did with those belts. She took that belt, swung it high, and whipped it across my butt. I counted as she did, one, two, three… I sat on the floor, crying as usual. I didn’t think such pain was possible. I could almost feel the blood spreading across my skin, if there even was any. My skin tingled for the next few days. I couldn’t sit for long, if I did, it felt like a million nails poking into my skin.
