I was standing on the edge staring at the Meadow. Everything went so wrong with my father I didn't want to go back. "Bambi? Is something wrong love?" Faline asked. I shooked my head back to reality. "Yeah, I um... I got angry with my father. He walked off and I have to go find him." I replied. She rubbed up against me as I walked. I walked deep in the forest and Thumper and his kids were hopping on top of a log. "Hiya Bambi!" Thumber shouted between jumps. "Hi Thumper! Have you seen my father?" I tried to smile and say. "Yes, Mr. Bambi! He walked by here and then fell down the hill!" One of the little rabbits answered. "Uh Thanks." "Seeya later Bambi!" Thumper said, Leading his little bunnies home. I continued to walk and then ran down the hill. I skidded to a stop. "Father? Father please get up!" I pleaded. It started raining as I figured out that he wasn't going to wake up. I just dropped myself next to him. I heard a twig crack and a light shine through the trees. "I'm here!" It called. I immediately smelled, heard and sensed danger. A light shone right one me, I heard the dogs barking. I jumped up and raced toward the meadow to warn the other deer. I gallop into the Meadow and stomp my hoof. They start racing for the deep woods. I run to the thicket. "Faline! Get the kids to the deep woods! There's hunters!" I said panicking. She woke them up and they were out of there quickly. "Father!" I said. I raced back toward where I left father. I quickly put him on my back and ran as fast as I could to get to the other deer. All the animals were in a fright and were all in the secret thicket. "Are you and the kids alright?" I asked Faline, rubbing her neck. "We're fine." Faline answered back. "Where's my mother?" I asked. "I don't know." Faline looked too. We all heard a gun shot. I ran out and heard "Bambi!" I raced toward the sound and found my mother stuck in some vines and the dogs were close. "Come on mom. Everyone else is in the thicket." I cut the vines with my antlers, Started running and said. We collasped in the thicket with exhausten. She saw Father's body and layed her head under his and started crying.
Chapter two: The new Prince of the Forest.I was watching over the deer in the open fields because I was the new Prince of the Forest now. My Father's legacy will still live on but he is no longer alive to tell that story. "Bambi?" Mother walked up beside me and said. "Yes Mother?" I replied. "Faline was worried about so I told her I would find you." She hoofed the ground. "I just have the Meadow to check on and I'll be to the thicket soon." I replied. "Ok!" She jumped high in the air and walked off.
(Bambi's Mother's POV)
I saw Thumper pounce by and then I walked into the thicket. Faline was laying on the ground. "Faline?! Are you alright?" I panicked. "Get Bambi!" She whispered. I sprinted off! "Bambi!" I shouted. He turned around. He looked serious and like his father. "Anything wrong?" He asked looking back at the Meadow. "It's Faline! The Fawn is coming! The Fawn is coming!" I jumped up. "I'll be right there." He said calmly and carelessly. "Ok." I said calm and a little sad. I walked off looking back. When I got back to the thicket a little fawn was sleeping next to Faline, Who was also sleeping. "Faline?" I whispered. She lifted her head. "Beautiful isn't she?" Faline whispered back. "Yes she is!" I said.
(Faline POV)
I Looked down at the sleeping fawn next to me. My ears go up as a twig breaks. I look up and see Bambi. "Bambi!" I say quietly. He lays down next to me and our other kids quietly walk in. The fawn lifts her head, Blinks and stares at everyone.
Chapter three: Growing up.
A month later....
I walked toward the meadow with Ophrah following. "Come on Ophrah. Nothings going to hurt you. Come on. We're going to see your father." I said. She lifted her head and ran toward me. That always gets her. She wants to be big and strong like her father. "Mother, Why is Father always away when we wake up?" Ophrah asked. "Because he's the Prince of the Forest and he has to watch out for the other deer!" I answered. "You mean there's more deer then just us and the twins and Martin and Oliva?" Ophrah was excited. "Of course there is." I replied. I sniffed the air, Held my ears high and started walking forward slowly. Ophrah stayed hidden in the grass. It was clear. "Come on Ophrah, It's clear." I shouted. The young men deer jumped from behind a rock and ran around the meadow and then settled in a spot to eat. "Whoa mother! Who are they?" Ophrah asked. "They're the young Male deers. Come on try some grass." I answered. We ate for about an hour and then Bambi walked into the Meadow. All the deer looked up and watched him walk. "Mother..." "Shh" I interrupted. Ophrah started watching him too. He started toward the male but he stopped, Looked our way and started walking towards us. He stopped in front of me. He rubbed my neck and looked down. Ophrah looked scared. "Easy Ophrah, I won't hurt you." Bambi whispered and cuddled her too. Then walked toward the young deer. "Mother? Why does everyone pay so much respect to him?" Ophrah whispered. "Because, He has lived longer than any deer in the forest." I whispered back. "Oh wow!" Ophrah replied. Then came Martin. Strong young Male. He walk across the meadow toward Bambi. He was trying it for a day. The duo walked back out of the meadow just as one of the young deer were shot! Hunters slowly approached. I started to run. "Ophrah! Ophrah, where are you?!" I panicked. Bambi came running with Ophrah at his side.
(Bambi's POV)
I can't let those hunters get my family. "Come, Hurry!" I shouted. They followed me to the deep woods and I let in another private thicket with the rest of the kids. "Stay here." I said. "Your not going out there alone are you?" Oliva asked. "I'll be fine dear." I replied and sprinted off to find them. I found them and a dog smelled me and I ran off before it could find out it's a deer. I checked on the other deer in the thicket and went back to ours. Getti and Geno were wrestling, Ophrah was sleeping, Faline watching Getti and Geno, Oliva laying in panick, Martin standing up acting all strong, looking outside. Ophrah woke up and asked me "Father, Why are things so scary as a deer? I mean why do we have ro hide whenever a hunter comes?" I answered "Well, Ophrah, Life as a deer is hard because of hunters that will kill you. When ever you hear dogs, guns or somone saying I'm here run the oppsite direction of the sound. Ok?" "Ok Father." She replied.
Chapter four: All grown and cautious!(Ophrah's POV)
I was eating the bark off a tree in the blowing wind. I pulled more and more off for the family. Me, Martin and Father are doing it for the twins and Mother. Sadly Oliva got shot while trying to hide from hunters. Mother Needed the food because she was carrying another brother or sister. Father signaled us to go. I had a whole pile of bark. The winds were blowing so hard he had to right next to each other to see. We finally made it back. "No one execpt me, Martin and Ophrah goes out there. It bad out there." Father said. "Here my love." He pushed some bark to Mother. I heard a stick crack and peeked outside. "John!" I whispered. "What are you doing here?" "I lost home." He replied. "Come in." I said. "Father, This is John. He's one of the Young Male Deers in the herd." "John." Father nodded. "Prince." John replied and nodded also.
(Bambi's POV)
"Won't you have some bark John." Faline asked. "Thank you." He answered.
A month later..
"You better make sure they don't know who you are!" A rival deer said to me. "Get out" I grunted. He glady raced off. I ran to the thicket. "Faline. You and the new twins have to go somewhere else to live. If that deer see's them and you going in here with me they'll have very short lives. They can't know I'm their father, they have any siblings or your my mate. They simply must just know me as the Prince of the Forest." I said. "Where will I go?" Faline asked with worried eyes. "Our secret thicket in the deep woods. You should be safe there before you have the twins. Just make sure they know me as just the Prince off the Forest." I repeated. "Ok. I love you." She replied and ran off.
