My name is Carter Anne-Marie Henderson and this is the story of how I found my 3 long lost sisters, Melinda, Alexandria, and Miranda. My birth mother, Aida gave me up at birth to save me from the evil forces that surround the land of Maldivian. My father, Darin was killed the night I was born trying to protect me. Every last ounce of power he had left he transferred to me, now I realize I must be eternally grateful. Even though I was only a few hours old I remember what he said to me before he was consumed in darkness. “The moon will always be your greatest protector”. I never really new what he meant until the night of my fifteenth birthday. But because my mother never wanted me to forget where I came from she gave me an amulet to represent my element and always remind me I can always come home.

It was a chilly fall day in October that I started to notice my life was changing. I was sitting in my bed with my notebook that I write in when the moon is up. Since I was born, during a full moon, my time of day is usually between midnight and five-thirty in the morning. But tonight was different because it happened to be a lunar eclipse. My mum, dad and I had decided to go to the beach to watch it. It was still only six-thirty in the evening so, there wasn’t a lot of people around yet. We found a place to park and I got out and went to sit at my favorite spot. It’s a little circle of trees that over looks over the water and is absolutely the most beautiful place in the world. Because it was fall the trees were just starting to change color and made the glade seem a little more magical than it usually was. But when I got there, another girl was there. She was about seventeen if not older and had long black hair that cascaded down her back like a water fall. I was pretty entranced when I saw her, in fact I was so sucked in that I didn’t realize she had turned around and was looking at me. Her eyes were beautiful too, a beautiful set of green eyes to go with her hair. I had never seen her before but I felt like I new her somehow. I finally shook myself awake and tore my gaze away from her. I walked to the bench at the far end of the glade and sat down. I opened up my notebook and opened up to a clean page. I started to describe a magical world where four beautiful princesses lived with their Mother and Father. Once I started I couldn’t stop until I was on the verge of running out of paper when, the girl walked over to me and said “Excuse me, but the eclipse is about to start”, I looked up at her with a puzzled look on my face, she just smiled and said, “My name Is Melinda”, it was weird that I didn’t reply because I’m usually a little talkative, but I just couldn’t figure out who this girl was and why she seemed so familiar. I straightened myself and answered, “Very nice to meet you Melinda. My name is Carter Henderson”. But just as she was about to answer I heard my mum yell from the bottom on the steps to come and see the eclipse. I turned back around to say good bye to Melinda but, she was already gone. How was she gone so fast, who knows? But I did know that I wasn’t going to forget that I knew her from somewhere. Where, is the question though? “ Man, that is going to bother me for the rest of my day”. I thought. But I packed up my things and headed down to my parents.

Melinda
“I can’t believe she’s alive”, I thought to myself as I was walking back to my house, just at the edge of the beach. You see my element is water and I love living close to it. As you might have guessed, Carter didn’t recognize me because she doesn’t know me but, she does know me. I was with my mother the night she gave birth to my sister and my father died.. I felt my mother’s everlasting supply of courage pouring out of her when the guardians told her that my father was nowhere to be found. But just like my mother, I refused to accept that my father was dead. But I also refused to believe my little baby sister was gone as well. My mother knew that my father had taken little Asana, with him so he could save her. He left her in the care of Ileana. Our nanny and our best guardian. She’s the one who took her to a different world, the human world no less. There she was adopted by the Jones-Wood family. But she still has the amulet my mother gave her when she was born. I know because I have one just like it but blue for water. When I turned eighteen I made a promise to my mother to find her and bring her home to protect us. When our father died he gave all his power to Asana and now she is the only person who can defeat the dark guardians and restore peace and light to the seven kingdoms of Maldivian.
We have been at war for fourteen years and are hoping that when she is ready, Asana will one day save us. But do we have enough time for her to master her powers and other magical ability is the question.

Carter
I can honestly tell you I have never seen something so fantastic as a lunar eclipse. But for some reason I swear I saw I kingdom emerge from the shadows as the eclipse continued. But It didn’t last long because the eclipse was only eight minutes long. But something occurred while I watching that I can’t really explain. My necklace started glowing and I suddenly heard a voice inside my head that was saying “You’re ready to return home, my daughter”. Now if you ask me, that’s a pretty serious wake up call. I always knew I was adopted, my parents told me when I was six years old, but I didn’t know anything like this was ever going to happen. I was pretty freaked out but I still watched the eclipse finish, and walked back to the little glade, where I could think. I was hoping that when I got there, no one else would be there, but of course, there was. She was Justas beautiful as the other girl, Melinda, but this girl was just stunning. Her hair was just like Melinda’s hair but shorter and curly. I walked around to the other side to see if I could see her eyes. Luckily I did see them. They were a deep blue that really made her stand out and went perfectly with her hair. I felt kind of shady at having to sneak around just to see her eyes, but in the end it was worth it because when she turned to look at me, I saw a look of realization cross her face. “My name is Alexandria”, she said as if reading my mind. But then I realized, that not only did she seem familiar, just like Melinda but she resembled her as well. I was going to answer when something clicked in my head that made me realize that her name was just as familiar as Melinda’s. I was able to answer pretty easily considering I had never met this girl before. “Very nice to meet you, my name is Carter Henderson”, she just smiled and said “I know who you are Carter, you met my sister Melinda a little while ago”. So that’s why she seemed so familiar. It was stunning how much they resembled each other, I didn’t know any better I’d think they were twins, but they aren’t because Melinda is at least two years older than Alexandria. “Do I know you from somewhere, or am I just crazy”? She turned her head as if she couldn’t believe I had asked such a stupid question but still answered, “You have met me once before if only in a dream and my sisters also”. Okay now I was confused, how can you meet someone in your dreams, and I thought she only had one sister. Now I had some questions to ask but when I turned around to ask them she was gone. Just like Melinda. How do they do that!? But I did notice one more thing about both Melinda and Alexandria. They were both wearing necklaces just like mine but Melinda’s was green and Alexandria’s was red.

Alexandria
I thought my sister was crazy when she told me she had seen little Asana. None of us had seen her since she was born and our father took her away. But just as my sister had said she was alive and well. But still unsure of herself. “She only saw us because of her necklace”, Melinda said to me. “Hold your tongue, Melinda”! I couldn’t believe she had said that, and right in front our Mother. “Even I know that she saw us because of her Maldivian heritage. Her eyes are trained to see as we see which is why she was so curious to her”. My sister maybe older than me but she still has the mind of a twelve year old child. “Stop it both of you”, our mother chimed in. “Both of you are old enough to know that just because we haven’t seen Asana in so long doesn’t mean she doesn’t know who she is……or was”. My mother’s face fell to show how much sadness she felt at thinking about her youngest daughter. “Her Maldivian eyes are what makes her see, but her necklace is what triggered her immediate reaction to you”. I looked over at my sister and saw that there were tears glistening in her eyes. We both shared a silent agreement to never upset our mother again. Melinda and I argue a lot because we’re opposites. She’s water and I am fire. Two very different elements, but we always find away to balance each other out.
