"look i know your sorry about what you did." my mom said. it was firday affternoon. the sky was a pissed off gray. rain poured from roof tops to the ice layered floor. "but love, i think you need this." she said. "you need a male figure in your life." she said. "yeah, but not him." i siad. "whats wrong with him?" she asked. "um he's my brother." i said. Danny stood in the door way. "he doesn't like me." i said. "of course he does, just give him a chance." my mom said. "i didn't even know i had a brother untill two seconds ago!" i said. "and he's a half." i added. "look your father just died so i know your going to act out." she said. "what?" i asked. "i just can't handle you." she said. "yeah?" i asked. "well you gave up to damn quick." i said. "you'll be fine." she said. "ready?" he asked. "she's ready." my mom said. "i'll call you everyday." my mom said. "don't bother." i said. "don't be like this." she said. "you brang it on yourself." i said. Danny opened the door for me. we drove to his house in scilence. "you hungry?" he asked. "no." i said to quickly. "ok." he said. "so summers here any plans?" he asked. "i don't like to talk." i said. "ok." he repeadted. "you want me to like you, you have to let me do it on my own, don't try to hard. i hate that." i said. he nodded. his house was big. the yard was large, with grass, and not the fake stuff im used to. the singh stuck in the ground said it was a 9 bed and 11 bath house. "you didn't take the for sell sighn down?" i asked. "i moved here just today." he said. "why'd you move?" i asked. " so i'd have a good house for you." he said. i got out of the car and walked to the sighn. i stared at it for a moment. "GAH!" i yelled kicking it, and making it collapse with a soft thud. "feel better?" Danny asked opening his trunk. "not even close." i said, pushing my hair back and marching to the front steps. my room was already set up. the canapy bed was in black and grey with a grey blanket at the end of the bed. there was a phone on the bed side table and a lamp and clock on the other. there was a chest at the bottom of the bed that had a laptop still in the box on it. the desk had a computer with an ipod touch conected to speakers. a iphone was placed on the white dresser. a short white empty book shelf was next to rather a large window or a door. in front of the bed on the wall was a flat screen tv fasened to the wall and surounded in speakers. under the tv was a shelf that held a dvd player and two remotes. the walls were a warm orange and the carpet was a soft white. "i'm not that good, with kids yet, so i tryed my best." he said. "yeah," i said. i went out back with my back pack, and sat by the pool. i pulled out my ipod, book and sunglasses. during chapter 19 Danny came out. "are you hungry?" he asked. yes. "no." i said. "how do you survive then?" he asked. "i drink blood duh!" i said, shaking my vampire book. " get with it dude!" i said. "that's not wiered at all." he said. "glad you think so." i said, putting in my ear phone. "your not to good at sarcasim are you?" he said. "your not to good at seeing me put in my ear phone, means leave me the hell alone are you?" i asked. "alright," he said. "hey don't get snippy with me!" i called right before he shut the french doors. "hey! don't close the door, what happens if someone trys to rape me?!" i yelled. the door, pushed open and i went back to my book. Sometimes in life, you have to be mean to get what you want. Nice people are walked all over. So is that why i have foot prints up and down my body? Being nice has got me no where. i checked the mail. "dude, i was so for real! i was like if there's no party, things are going to get violent. i've been waiting for my cousin to come over for like months now." a girl said. she was sitting on her front porch swing talking on the phone. "hey new girl!" she called. she waved as i looked up. i gave her a two finger sulte and walked back inside. the next morning i opened the door to a guy my age. "here, your mail was in my box. could you check yours for mine?" he said. i took the mail, tossed it on the side table, and walked down the drive way. "Yo, how long does it f-ing take to get the mail?" the girl asked, coming out ide. "oh, hey buddy!" she called waving at me. "what's up." i said, with a nod. "you know my sister?" the guy asked. "yeah, we can see each other through our windows, so, we talk with note books." i said. "yeah right." he said, with a laugh. "you don't beleive me?" i asked. "girls like you don't hang out with girls like my sister." he said. "oh so you stereotype." i said. "not at all, it's just a fact." he said. "uh-huh." i said. "look i know my sister. it's not gonna work." he said. "yeah, well, you don't know me, so." i said. "your right, i don't." he said, turning to go back to his house. i rolled my eyes and went back inside. i shut the door with both hands. what was that guys problem, an why did he get under my skin. i found him irrataing yet, intresting. i've never met someone like him. he says, he doesn't stereotype when he kind of did, saying it was a fact. if me and his sister got to know one another, i bet we could get along. infact. i pulled open the door, and knocked on the door. "what?" he asked. "is my friend here?" i asked. "who?" he asked. "hey girl!" his sister said, hugging me. "i really like your hair i didn't tell you that the other day." she said. "i like your shirt." she said. "thans, you wanna come in or?" she said "yeah sure." i said, pushing past her brother. "that's my brother, Kayden. I'm Rosealind." she said. "cool, i'm Ember." i said. "so want to check out my room?" i asked. "yeah sure." i said. "she took my hand and led me to her room. i gave kayden a i told you so look. "this is it." she said, floping down on a purple plaid blanket. a guitar came to life. "who's that?" i asked. "that's my cousin, Landen, come on i'll introduce you guys." she said. we paused at his door, and watched him, jump around his room and play. "Landen!" rosealind yelled. he puased, pushing his blonde hair from his face. "hey rosie." he said, in a british acsent. "this is ember, she just moved next door." she said. "hey, i'm Landen." he said, offering his hand. i shook it. "your good." i said. "oh thanks, i want to be in a band some day." he said. "landen is a big dreamer." rosealind said, punching his arm. "am not!" he objected, mussing rosealinds hair. they play fought. "landen dude, look." kayden said, coming in. he had a guitar. "no way!" laden said, taking the gutair. "that's call a gutair." kayden said. it angered me to have him think he was smarter than me. "i know, i was in a band before." i said. "really?" landen and rosealind asked. "yeah." i said. "what did you do play the piano?" kayden asked. "i sang." i said. "really. then you wouldn't mind giving us a little show then?" he said. "dude, what is your problem? pull the stick out of your ass and stop tying to put me down." i said. he smiled. "i was wrong, you'll fit in." he said. "yeah that's not the only thing you wher wrong about." i said. i walked past him hitting his shoulder. i ran down the stairs and out the front door. "ember hold on a minute!" landen said. "i'd like to hear you sing." he said. "i don't do it anymore, sorry landen." i said. "oh that's a lie. when music and someone become one it never leaves you." he said. "i wish it would." i said. i turned and walked to my house. i shut the door, and blew out some air. why'd i have to go over there? oh, that's right i had to prove people wrong. i hate when people get the wrong idea of me, it just crawls under my skin. maybe that's why kayden does. "are you going to stand there all day?" blake asked. "is there a rule against it?" i asked. "nope." he said, taking a drink from his beer, and walking off. i opened the door. "landen?" i asked. "i'm sorry." he said, pushing past me. "i really want to hear you sing." he said. "not going to hapen pal." i said. "Ember let me ask you something. What do you want before you die?" he asked. "i wan't people to talk about me for generations to come cause i made that much of an impact on their lives." i said, as if it was plain to see. "then start with me." he said. "oh for crying out loud!" i said. "come on." he begged. "i'm just a girl your just a boy. this is my heart, it's not a toy." i sang. i opened the door and made a sweeping motion. "goodbye, landen." i said, with a sweeping motion. "but your good." he said. "see you tomorrow." i said, as he walked down the walk way. i went to my room, and turned up my raidio, and sang. the next morning landen told me to come to his room so he could show me a video on youtube. "the video has already two million veiws." he said. i watched the video pop, up, and watched me sing. "pretty cool huhu?" he asked. "why did you do that? you know how i feel about my music." i said. "ember i." he began. "i filmed and put it on there." kayden said. "you know i give everyone a fair chance but i'm not so sure about you." i said. "hey ember, what's up? i didn't know you where here." she said. "yeah," i said, pushing past them. i went to my room, locking my door. i shut the doors to my balcony and closed all the shades. what a creeper kayden is so come into my house, and film me. did he really do it, or just say he did to cover him? would landon really let kayden take the rap? if he did and i found out it was him how could i ever trust him again? i turned the radio to max and sang at the top of my lungs. when ever i get upset i blast a paramore song and sing. after i sang hello cold world, i took a deep breath. the next day i got a letter and i opened it at the mail box. the letter said, that i was invited to a music summer camp. i looked over and kayden, landen and
