Jessica walked home after detention. A chilly winter breeze made her shiver and hug her jacket closer to her body. It was a full moon, but no moon could be seen, for dark clouds covered the sky. A howl ripped through the air, making Jessica stop and look around. A black wolf could barely be seen as it crept out of the bushes. Jessica turned toward it expectantly. The wolf stood on its hind legs, and its shape blurred. A boy of her age stood where the wolf once was, a smile on his face. Jessica smiled and ran to him, hugging him. The wolf boy hugged he back and spoke to her with a disapproving tone “You should not be out this late, Jessica. There are scarier things in the darkness than me. Things that would hurt you if you gave them the chance.” She sheepishly smiled up at him then scowled “Mrs. Murray put me in detention for threatening Sam. But what could I do, Mak? Just leave it alone? I couldn’t let him keep threatening Sara!” Mak chuckled “If only Sam knew what Sara was, he would be running the other way.”
Yes and if you only knew what I was, you too would be running the other way.
Thought Sam as he watch Jessica and Mak. He stepped out from the shadows in his true form, Vampire. Jessica gasped and Mak turned. Sam knew what they saw, long pointed fangs, white skin, clawed hands, and blood red eyes. Mak growled and Sam laughed. All vampires had a special trait of their own; Sam’s was that he could vanish into thin air. Sam laughed as he vanished and went home to follow through with his plan.
“Sam is a vampire!” Screeched Jessica “Come on, we need to get to Sara’s and help find that moon stone!” whispered Mak as he started dragging Jessica toward his car. “Why do we need a moon stone?” asked Jessica hesitantly. “I have smelled vampires around here and could never track them down. Sam must be strong if he can hide his sent from Sara and me. We need the moon stone to destroy the vampires, if we find it all we need to do is have a human, you, hold it in between their hands and wish for all the vampires in Trenton to be destroyed.” Replied Mak. “All vampires are evil and want to kill humans, Sam is no different, and he must be destroyed.”
Sam was at home smiling to himself. His plan was working out better than he thought it would. He tossed the small shiny white orb with one hand while carving a little holder for the orb. He finished the holder and caught the orb. He placed the small moon stone in the holder and it glowed. A triumphant smirk on his lips, he placed a glass case over the moon stone.
Mak, Sara, and Jessica had been looking for the tiny moon stone for hours. Mak and Sara froze, Mak groaned. “What’s wrong?” Asked Jessica “Sam has the moon stone, and I’m pretty sure I know what he wants to do with it.” Groaned Sara as she sat on a bar stool. Mak looked at her with his eye brows mashed together. “Don’t you get it? He wants to turn all the werewolves in Trenton into humans! Then pick us off one by one! If we don’t get that stone by midnight tonight, were all dead.” Said Sara.
Sam looked out his window, he was sure they had figured out his plan, but he was also sure they could not stop him. Two howls sounded from the east and he smiled, oh they knew alright. He saw a black male wolf and a white female wolf appear in the meadow in front of his house. He looked at his clock. It was 11:56, only four more minutes until the werewolves would turn into harmless human, for him to slaughter.
Mak and Sara stood in there wolf forms just outside of Sam’s house. Jessica positioned herself on the roof ready to be a distraction when necessary. The door creaked open and Sam walked out with a big smirk on his face. Mak growled and Sara started to slink around to Sam’s left. Sam just laughed and watched the both of them. Jessica slid down off of the roof and hit Sam over the head with a base ball bat made of pure wood. Sara shifted into her human form and ran inside the house. She came back out, moon stone in hand. Jessica took the moon stone, placed in in between he hands, and wished. Jessica watched as Sam’s body fell inward, tissues deteriorating, and skin becoming leathery. He was mummified within seconds. “He will become ashes when the sun hits him but for now he’s just a bag-o-bones.” Clarified Mak as he settled back into his human form. “Come on let’s get you home, Jessica, you’ve had a long night.”
