Scarlett Sabrea sat against a tall oak tree looking down at the ground in silence. She rubbed her black and red checkered vans into the soft soil, patiently waiting. Her dark green eyes swept over the forest around her, she could barely even see her house from this distance. But she wasnt lost, she came here almost every night. She felt more at home here then she did anywhere. Her house had never seemed like a home to her though. Scarlett and her father had never got along. Every single word they spoke to eachother was a fight. So it was just better not to talk, she usually spent her time away from her house, not that it would make much difference since her dad was always at work. She pulled out her phone to look at the time. 2:50 in the morning. She smiled, only 10 more minutes left.
Scarlett stood up, her wavy blood red hair sweeping down her back, and wiped all the dirt off the back of her skinny jeans. She zipped up her oversized black and red hoodie and slipped the hood up over her head. She loved jackets, and the cold. The night was the best time to her, she loved everything about it. The stars, the darkness, the silence. But it wasnt always that way. Her favorite time was at 3 A.M. when everything suddenly got quiet, and just then it hit.
Scarlett looked around the forest and grinned. Everything had become silent, but she knew that was about to change. It started off slow, a quiet siren that signaled the whole forest alive. It was distant, and it faded off into the night. It was then that the second howl ripped through the sky, and from that came the third, and the forth, untill the whole forest was filled with the howls of wolves screaming up to the sky. She took it all in with a deep breath, looking up at the moon she knew the whole forest was focused on. The howling only lasted for a duriation of 3 minutes before fading away. She waited a few minutes in silence before turning around and starting to trek back to her house. Every time she heard them it took her to tears, it was the most beautiful sound in the world... The howl of wolves.
