âWolf, the only way I can trust these other wolves, is if you give your thoughts.â Randy said, well⊠my thoughts, I wouldnât mind doing more than just trusting him, Iâll trust his hands and⊠I broke myself off, realising I was being stupid and selfish eyeing off this guy while my friend could be in pain. âTrust them, they are what we have and we must take what we can getâ Randy nodded and walked off to go find Kade. Who I believe was still around the corner after my talking to. Woops. Lost in my thoughts I didnât realise the beautiful hunk still standing right in front of me, staring. âUm⊠Can I help you?â I obviously broke his train of thought as his eyes met back at mine, âYes, actually. Is there anywhere private? I must understand why a wolf is amongst vampires.â He spoke softly, as if to not have anyone else listen but me.
âI. Uhm. Sure, follow meâ the only place I knew was Jayâs bedroom, that was hopefully not blood-ridden or completely destroyed on this level. I started to go off to the second corner. I felt him almost right behind me, I began to take in his scent. It was like nothing Iâd ever smelled before, like a fresh bakery in the morning but with extra sweetness to it. Before I realised Iâd been walking so fast I was at Jayâs bedroom door I grabbed at the handle but it wouldnât move. âshitâ I whispered to myself, cursing my stupidity as Iâd forgotten about how the door was still locked from when I locked Jay out.
âProblemâ the deep voice made me jump as Iâd forgotten he was right behind me.
âItâs locked, Iâll try to find a key or something...â I was about to start walking off to find a key when a strong hand landed softly on my shoulder and turned me around, holy god, he was centimetres from my face and his amethyst eyes met mine. âNo needâ He whispered as he maintained eye contact with me and kicked the door down with ease, it snapped in half. That. Was. Awesome. He gestured for me to go in first and I did without complaint. âYou know, without the door thereâs not a whole lot of privacy, but oh well âI said, as I tried to maintain focus on his eyes and nowhere else. âthatâs fineâ
I sat down on the silk bed, and he swiftly followed. âWhat did you want to-â
âTalk about? Many thingsâ he finished my sentence as if he could read my mind, but surely he couldnât otherwise he wouldâve heard a few things he didnât need to.
âLana, what are you doing in the Prince of Vampires kingdom lair?â he asked,
âHold upâ I stopped his questioning, there was no way I was going to answer him without answers of my own. âBefore you ask me anything. I need to know your name firstâ I said smoothly as I relaxed my body, not allowing him to seem any more powerful over me than he must already feel.
He laughed. And it was beautiful. âFine, Iâm Aceâ He held out his hand, I hesitantly put out mine.
âLana, as you know alreadyâ I retreated my hand in fear that it would go elsewhere.
âSo Lana, once again, Why are you here?â the real question was what could I and couldnât I say to this guy, if he worked for the supernatural government thingy, then it probably isnât smart to tell him everything.
âItâs hard to explain.â I couldnât figure out how I could tell him anything without giving away more than I should, I started to feel anxious but suddenly there was a knock at the door, well, used to be a door. Jay stood, arms crossed and clear jealousy on his face. Youâve got to be kidding me. âThe Prince and his Commander would like to see you.â He squinted his eyes and they began to glow green. âImmediatelyâ the tense air was broken up by Aceâs beautiful laughter, he was clearly amused by the vamp despite his attempt.
âSure thingâ Ace then walked out of the room, bumping shoulders with Jay clearly pissing him off even more as his eyes became a furious green. I couldnât help but watch Ace on his way out, hate to have him go but love to watch him leave. Iâd never thought an ass could be so good on a man but I was apparently wrong. As the last trace of him left my eyes were met with Jayâs flaming green ones as he used his vamp speed to appear right in front of me. âWhat in the hell was thatâ he said furiously, grinding his teeth as he waited for an answer.
âWhat? Do you think you own me or something?â I laughed at his jealousy. For a second it looked like he was even going to say yes. Hah! No one controls me honey.
âDo you know what theyâre going to talk about?â I asked him, changing the subject before he attempted something stupid.
âThe plan. Most likely. And about you.â His eyes started to change back to normal as he decided it was a good time to take in my body. âWould you like another shirt?â he grinned as reality hit me that the shirt was practically ripped. The only piece, thankfully, intact being the part covering my boobs.
I cursed once again at my stupidity. âYes, please. Also, I did kind of save your life back there so could you do me a massive favour?â Jay was already handing me another black fitted tee. âWhatever you needâ
âI need a braâ his eyes seemed to sparkle, and his thoughts obviously elsewhere imagining something sick. âNow.â I stopped his little daydream and he nodded and ran off like a man on a mission. I realised I hadnât even told him my size, but it was probably for the best considering the amount of time the idiot spent staring at them. I sighed as I turned around so that anyone passing through the empty hole of a doorway wouldnât see anything special. I turned back around to see Ace back in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe. âI thought you were talking with the âPrince and his Commanderââ I said, trying to hide my shock and embarrassment as I wondered how long heâd been there.
âAlready finished that. We are waiting on you, we leave soon.â He spoke bluntly
âNo more questions for me anymore?â I was slightly disappointed,
âIâve had them answered by the vamps.â
âHow much do you know?â my curiosity over took me, I wanted to know just how much theyâd explained of me.
âThey said you were special, but wouldnât say much of how. They also explained the plan to me, butâ He came and sat back next to me. âYou must understand that they want to betray youâ
âYeah, I already figured. But you telling me this, I canât figure outâ
âBecause I want to help you, and in exchange, you help me.â this could be my way out of this.
âI accept, but, what exactly am I helping you with?â
âIâm looking for a man. An alpha. Possibly the same one who attempted kidnapping of a special girl, who in turn, destroyed his elite team without her wolf.â Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. Alarms were going off in my head.
âI wouldnât know what youâre talking abo-â He started laughing, I was such a bad liar.
âI forgot to mention. Her name is Lanaâ Ace suddenly became very serious âAnd Iâm sure sheâs right in front of me. With a craving of freedom.â
It was like he had read my mind, all Iâd wanted was for people to stop trying to control me. and this was my ticket. Ace was my ticket. I spat on my hand and handed it out for him to shake, he looked confused.
âWeâll make it a deal. The Good Olâ wayâ I said staring deeply into his eyes. He took a moment but soon joined me by spitting in his hand and shaking it.
âNow, get ready, and follow my lead before you know whoâs, otherwise my plan wonât workâ he assured,
âOn a few certain conditionsâ I said, surprising him that I wouldnât just follow his lead. âYou have no control over me or my actions. If I do something out of your âplanâ it is for the better, and if you want it to âworkâ you must improvise. Itâs not that hardâ he took in and digested my conditions.
âFine.â He grumbled, obviously displeased that I didnât just follow him like his 5 little pack members outside. Someone cleared their throat, if it wasnât obvious before Jay peaked his head in the room, his eyes green once again.
âYou really need to learn some self-control, vampâ Ace said venomously at Jay. The tension and testosterone in the room amped up. âYou should go hang with your fellow dogsâ within moments Ace was at Jayâs throat. Oh shit, what have I done.
âEnough, Jay I need my⊠uh, gift. And Ace, Iâll be ready to leave in a minute. Both of you can leave the room now, I need some privacy for a moment.â They both looked at me slightly apologetically then darted back with hatred towards each other. Ace dropped Jay, smoothed his leather jacket over, winked at me and left. He winked at me. I felt heat in my cheeks. Jay shot darts at me but said nothing, dropping a small bag on the bedside table and slowly went to walk out.
âThank you, Jayâ I felt bad for the guy, despite how much of an idiot he was. He stopped for a moment, grumbled something and put his head back down and left. I grabbed the bag and quickly but the bra on from under my shirt. It was a nice blue sports bra but it was slightly smaller than my bras. Slightly uncomfortable but made my boobs look pretty good so I guess it was worth it. I gotta hand it to Jay, he did good for a possible dumbass.
Prepare for the worst my wolf reminded me, weâre about to go to battle, focus on the prize. She was right, I had to remember Julie. The only reason I was going with these guys in the first place.
As I walked out to find Aceâs pack and The Prince along with Randy and a couple of the uninjured guards, I prayed
