moon light Sam can see the startling resemblance that he shares with Phoenix. They have the same exact shade of intense green eyes, and that deep dark red hair Sam has never seen in anyone but him self until to night. He is about 4’9 which is incredibly short compared to any of the other kids his age, and Phoenix stands in front of him not much taller making him very short for a man.
“Why did I since you tonight and not before”
“ You knew I was their to night and could feel a connection because a let down the shield I used to conceal my self from you and your parents for so long.” Phoenix said with sadness dripping from his voice.
Its so late what I am I going to do I have so many question for my father. The man I believed to be my father for thirteen years should be returning home form work soon. God I have know idea how to face William or my mother. Now that I know some of the truths but there is know doubt in my mind that there is much more to find out.
“You must tell me why you have stayed hidden from me and why I was made to believe a man was my father that wasn’t.
“ Sam I loved your mother, but my family was very displeased with me. My family is royalty and they didn’t approve of our people being with humans. They wanted me to leave your mother when she became pregnant and forbid me to marry her. Sam I wanted a family with your mother and I so very much want a child. I was willing to be banished form my home and my people to have a wife and baby. Sam it was your mother she didn’t believe I could live without my people and left me. I tired desperately to get her back and reinsure her that all I need in life was her and my child, but she wouldn’t listen and she run off and married William a man that had been in love with her most her life. William was willing to marry your mother even thou she was pregnant, because he wanted her so much.”
Sam could not believe his ears not only was he part elf, his father was royalty. Sam wonders does that make me part royalty, who knows and should I even care. My fathers family didn’t approve of my mother and basically ran her off, so they would most likely wouldn’t except him either, which isn’t really I change because he has never been excepted by anyone but my mother. Sam cant stop wondering was his mother in love with Phoenix and did she love William or only married him as an escape rout. The latter is more likely.
There is light coming towards the house and a distinctive sound of a truck engine. “Oh crap” Sam says in dismay.
“ Phoenix you must leave, William’s coming home and he will not like to see me out here at this hour out side and talking to a stranger.”
“ Sam I cant leave you, I should have come for you much sooner.”
Sam doesn’t know what to thing or what to say and doesn’t have any time to respond because William is opening his car door and will spot Sam and Phoenix any moment.
“Sam what are you doing out here at this hour of night?” William demands of his son.
Sam is momentarily shocked he doesn’t know how to respond. Sam did notice that William didn’t mention any thing about a random man in his yard. So Phoenix must have cloaked him self again like he’s been doing all these years, and at that moment Sam was infuriated that this man who is suppose to be his father who just told him that he wouldn’t leave him again hidden himself in stead of protecting his son. Sam can still see Phoenix, William just cant see him.
“Um I need to get some fresh are.”
“Sam don’t lie to me boy I know that you are up to something. I think you were sneaking of or about to. So what do you have to say for your self boy and don’t you dare lie to me again.
“I didn’t lie to you I came out for air nothing else.”
“ Sam you go get the paddle, I know your lying to me there is no reason for you to be out here at three in the morning.”
Sam’s only response was “yes sir” and walks away for phoenix because it didn’t seem he was going to be any help, he was going back to observing Sam’s life and not really being a part of it. As Sam’s walks to the door he has a miserable thought how many of Williams punishing’s had Phoenix witnessed and did nothing. Sam’s almost to the door when he feels a hand on his shoulder he looks behind him and its Phoenix.
“What do you want” Sam says in his most annoyed voice.
“Sam I can tell your mad at me for not defending you from William just now, and I expect also from not protecting you in the past. I promise I will help you this time. I have a plane. Keep walking and go into the house but go into your room and pack a bag. Trust me Sam”
“Trust you I don’t even know you. If I don’t come back with that paddle in a moment it will be much worse for me. Pack a bag for what? You going to take me with you? Why now? You could have came and took me away a long time ago but instead you just stayed hidden watching a man I believed to be my father treat me like shit.” Sam says while walking thru the house and trying desperately not to cry but all of his emotions are just screaming to come to the surface.
“I am truly very sorry Sam and yes I would like you to come with me.” Phoenix said with despair in his voice. Imprint
